For the first time ever, there will be two teams from the Southern Province playing top-flight football in one bound next season after Nakambala Leopards bounced back after a term away while Choma Eagles will be making their debut from Faz division 1 south.
Choma beat Chilanga Heroes 1-0 at home to finish on 75 points, one point ahead of Nakambala who also won by the same margin away at National Assembly at the end of the final round of 32 matches of the season on Sunday.
However, for a second successive season, Riflemen finished third best on the final stretch despite also finishing on 74 points after also winning 1-0 away to Young Buffaloes.
Nakambala, coached by former Lusaka Dynamos and Zamsure coach Weston Mumba, beat Riflemen to the second promotion place thanks to a better goal difference.
Choma’s promotion comes a season after they relocated from Lusaka West to Southern Province changing name from Builders Brigade to Choma Eagles.
The Southern duo will join another promotion double-act this time from Ndola when Forest Rangers and Zamtel join them next season from Faz division 1 north.
Meanwhile, in the battle for survival in the Faz top-flight, there seems to be no end to Nkwazi’s free-fall after losing their second game in a roll when they lost 1-0 away to fellow strugglers Konkola Blades today at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.
Thomas Nyirenda’s 18th minute goal was enough to see Blades rise from 15th place to 12th on 31 points with two games to go while Nkwazi tumble a spot from 14th to replace their hosts in second from bottom.
Bakapuli ba nkwazi, once you see yourselves mu one, the heft sports taxes on police payslips should cease too.

Congrats southen its not only mines shftn north to south but entertainment aswell. Stay put
come on sharp razor,to death with you………..
We are having the last laugh at the ZNS guys. The got Green Eagles and brought some lowly ranked team, we supplied the players, inteligently changed the name to Choma Eagles.
viva nakambala leopards,am happy for my team from the southern province
Welcome to the premier league both of you Southerners and we hope you’re going to add more value to the current poor standards. Please welcme.
may be southeners will come up with a team which will replace our national team which has become toothless or is it gumless. viva south. viva HH. well, may the young man HH can join the squad.

You mean HH to replace the French? Kalusha will not like it because he gets a certain percentage from the coach’s salary. But it is not a bad idea and I support you. I also suggest Sata to be his assistant. Oh! I forgot. He can be insulting our national team players. A Bemba woman would be saying “darling” all the way but after some differences it’s “We Mbwa we”.
It’s very incuraging to have teams from south, Please south add value to the weak chipolopolo. I know you will deliver
A big welcome to both teams, but work on your turfs for God’s sake!
THERE IS ONLY ONE POWER PROVINCE IN ZAMBIA THAT IS EASTERN POWER WHERE THE WISE MEN CAME FROM.
But North Western Province and Western to some extent is the swing province. You have forgotten that 2011 is coming. We shall not vote for you. if you want just start ferring compouters to Chavuma the ECZ elections centre for 2011
hello my tonga friends
you will now be entertained with faz premier soccer in choma instead of watching bull fights. mr HH and chilemena should be associated with this team so that they help fulfill the fixture next season. we need you to mix with rest of us so that you get rid of your tonga mentality. we need you in 2011.
My advice to you two is consolidate your teams with Southern provice players and not from such teams like Nkana, Roan etc. They will disturb your system and others will be busy scoring own goals in an effort to win top scorers award and we will lose you in the premier league.
Do Northern, Western and Northwestern Provinces have leagues? I’ve heard of a division 1 team from the east but never from these ares.
Southern has ever been there. You guys do recall Monze Swallows in the 1990s.
iwe, chi toadface, wacimwa kaale. this is your commander!
may be HH can coach them
Ka No. 18 Ntoni/Ntoto yako!
23 useless contributions above me!!!
Welcome to big league southeners,i wish you bring with yourselves whatever it took to score all those goals and finish with 75 points while in our current the top team Zesco has only got 48 points. No wonder i watched 180 minutes at trade fair ground in Barclays semi final without a single goal scored until penalties seperated them. Can we manage to score at national level with such players?
Congrats Nakambala and Choma Eagle. Now go round the province and indentify more talents. There are more talented players within the province. It cant be a natural design that only Midlands and CB should produce the best players.Let the rest of the provinces follow suit and we shall have the best National team.
Mwabeleka bansankwa ba Nakambala Leopards a Choma Eagles (ba-Sikwaze). Kamujatisha alimwi kutegwa mukaibweze nkapu yachisobanino.
Mukese namulya!
Having watched both Nakambala and
Having watched both Nakambala and Choma Eagles playing on many occassions, neither of the two deserve to play in the top league. The last game Nakambala won,was not football but chipantepante. We need to be serious with the teams we are bringing in the top league. I think FAZ should consider struggling Green eagles and the other under performing teams to gain grounds in the top league.
