Chibombo is becoming a notorious death trap.Lesa twafweni.May the souls of these wonderful gentlemen rest in peace.
Much as we are demanding for solutions from the Government, can we also look to God for an answer. Let’s stand on 2 Chronicles 7 v 13-14 and repent of our wickedness in this land and call on God, he will hear us an heal our land. This problem has a spiritual aspect to it. Some wicked people have put up altars on our roads that need to be pulled down. Can we as believers mobilise ourselves and do a prayer walk along the stretch and tell the devil “enough” is enough. Such deaths bring holy anger in me. In February I lost a friend in the Post bus and now I have lost two friends from Multi-choice. Let the soldiers of Christ rise up and wage warfare. Am wishing Simon God’s healing touch. You shall not die but leave to proclaim the goodness of the Lord (Psalm 117:18). My…
In Chibombo, some evil people spill oil on the road so that vehicles overturn and then they rob from the dead and dying!! Please watch your speed in the Chibombo area, please please!
Solola Bye!
RIP, to Simon I only wish him a quick recovery.
Can common sense please prevail? Put humps on the stretch of road. You can’t keep losing lives like this without doing something about it. DO SOMETHING GRZ!!
Hear me, gvt is busy spending monies on bye-election : /
Where on earth have you ever seen humps on a highway? They would just cause more accidents!
Maybe its the humps that contribute to this. Or the ramshackle market stands that are a distraction. We need a more scientific evaluation of the ;killer stretch”. RDA whatever they are called need to be put to task. Can they defend the state of the motor way as it is now. Who is culpable for defective road design or management? What have the insurance companies have to say? They are paying a substantial amount I hope and should be concerned enough to have conducted deep research into causes of accidents. What have inquests into the deaths revealed. We shouldn’t just bury we must attempt to get explanations.
Common Sense? Humps on the highway? Common Sense would tell you its a Never Never!
I’m told they rammed into a stationary truck, lost control and the unfortunate happened! But I’m also told a second car was involved! As the other version I heard is the hammered the other vehicle. After it hammered the truck.
And it was quite dark and we all know that most trucks don’t even have triangles to put on the road!
Shame!!
Not again please! Trucks are really a nuisance on the Zambian roads. I would like to know what is being done to prevent these catastrophes. We need to have many lay-by places for these trucks to park when they develop faults, it is really handy and we can prevent them from parking besides the busy roads! MTSRIP
AGAIN THAT ROAD IS NOT SAFE, THE LANES ARE TOO SMALL VERY DIFFICULT TO OVERTAKE. MANY WILL DIE BEFORE THE GOVERNMENT WOULD COME UP WITH STRATEGIC MEASURES. SAD MTSRIP
We chatted with Danny at sherbourne in Kitwe b4 they left not knowing that was the last I saw him.
Sata: THe days of two lane roads linking urban towns should be over. Lusaka Ndola should be dual carriageway. You ve taken our nshima subsidy put it where it can save and serve lives
Chabipa, and both looked cheerful guys.
yes, i knew Danny as former workmate in audit days. He was a good guy.
Pa chibombo pabipa i think chief Liteta ni ndoshi.
These accidents can be prevented if only we had police who actually patrol the routes and not stand in one place looking for bribes. At least they should travel a bit for the same bribes.
They are actually there but resources and hopefully these accidents can be prevented in the future. I know quite a number of traffic patrol officers doing their rounds and patrols on the highways but indeed they are not enough!
there is something seriously wrong with that place
Something should be done. Its time to sanction a survey. RTSA.
very sad news indeed. MTSRIP.
Why do the good die young? will miss you Danny really, really will!!!!
Any practical steps from those responsible (RTSA, RDA, govt)? This is atleast the 3rd accident this year.
MEN OF GOD FROM ALL CHURCH BODIES,PLZ DO SOMETHING TO HELP THE SITUATION.SHONONGO WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE,BUT IN THE NAME OF JESUS,,,HE WILL NOT SUCCED
YES CAUSE SO FAR HE HAS SUCCEDED.
John Chinena alapwa bantu…….please put some measures in place
Rest in Peace, Danny my friend, you will be sadly missed.
May the Lord bring comfort to your family.
AMOS WENT TO SCHOOL WITH ME MHSRIP. VERY SAD INDEED.
URGENT MEASURES NEEDED PLEEEZE !
What more should happen before gvt does something about this. Petrol is so expensive in Zambia because of the road levy drivers are paying yet this is not seen on the roads. A minister died a few years ago on the same road, as of now more than a 100 people have died there and more will die if we dont do anything about it. Truckers are quite careless drivers and RATSA should be dealing with them instead of harrassing local drivers anyhow. The road must be worked on. Its too narrow and bumpy. SATA, PF leave the students alone and do some work for once
PF has gobbled $750M and is looking for some more yet we have not seen where the 750us$M went. Now they are removing subsidies . Can everyone p-lease go ahead and strike because its not right. Their children and families are carelessly spending gvt money whilst we look on, are we still stupid that we cantthink and react against injustice
why do UCZ clergymen and women so obsessed with anything to do with nudity. First it was suzzane matale now this bishop. I pray for the clergy to understand times have changed. infact during matale’s youthful days women were walking half naked. So what is all this obsession about? I suspect something, this could a case of guiltness.
Uncle Amos, a very very sad day for me indeed..what a dreadful way to learn of your demise. MYSRIP. My heart goes out to your lovely family and Danny’s family too. Ba Simon, quick recovery.
Something has to be done, ba PF . all these people’s blood is on your hands…
The only answer to these accidents is cautious driving. You and I must not exceed speed of 120 km/hr, however good the road may be. We must hang back whenever it is not safe to overtake. We must also ensure that our vehicles are fit for the highway.
Putting humps on a high way is same as digging holes in it. We must just observe speed limits.
The speed humps on the highways are a source of concern unfamiliar drivers. Humps are found from Chililabombwe to Livingstone. For some road users who are time bound and using brand new twin cabs from Toyota Zambia and Marounouchi they are tempteted to exceed the speed limits of 100 km/h as those vehicles can go up to 200 km/h. Apart from reviwing the road terrains, part of the solution is indeed to be observing the set speed limits by day. When driving by night, there should be a 20% reduction of speed due to reduced visibility and high prevalence of obstructive broken down trucks of the highways. Finaly dont drive to beat time, better late than never. If you are stressed and tired dont drive, if you drive dont drink and if you drink dont drive.
Presidential declaration of National Day of Prayer and fasting will do. I am ready for that are you?
Ba Amos I worked with you @ the Holiday Inn you were a very good and cheerful man. Its indeed a very sad day. May the Good Lord be with your family through this painful time. If am not mistaken I last saw the three of you standing outside Protea Hotel Arcades on friday evening. MYSRIP
it’s not advisable under Risk Mgt for top mgt to travel in the same transport. this is a lesson for other companies, gud Risk Mgt ethos shud come first b4 cost. above may the good LORD comfort the bereaved family, it’s very sad to lose such high caliber staff n citizenry.
Good point. Maybe one should have traveled by air. Actually, research shows that flying is safer. The only issue is the planes have to be well maintained….because a lot of times I believe plane crashes are due to the plane mal-functioning. You rarely hear about mid-air collisions ( two planes bumping into each other in the air)…That is a very good point that never travel all together. Unfortunately, at times in life, we learn something new after something tragic has happened. Will be praying!!!
MSZ
I’m informed that’s the policy at Multichoice,…!
And that includes travelling at Night,….!
I used to go to the same church with brother Amos. I am very disappointed with how the government in Zambia is spending money in other areas when safety needs to be one of the priorities. I currently live in the United States and even though this country also has it’s flaws in managing money, I do appreciate that they are constantly doing road construction. Come on!! if there has been a back to back record of car accidents… then why sit back and not do anything about it. How about have investors from other countrie fix the roads. We allow them to build malls and other business adventures…. but please Zambia.. safety is number one… I plead the blood of Jesus on that road and Father touch the heart of the government to sacrifice their time to fix those roads… Amen
