L to R: Zesco United coach Tenant Chembo, striker Winston Kalengo and midfielder Maybin Mwaba at the club’s weekly press briefing ahead of their game against Nkana this Saturday in Ndola.

Zesco United striker Winston Kalengo says there is nothing special about Super Division leaders Nkana ahead of the two team’s top of the table clash on Saturday in Ndola.

The two teams are separated by two points going into this week 13 match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Kalengo said Zesco is treating the Nkana game like any other fixture.

He, however, predicated that Saturday’s match will be tough.

“I have to give credit where it is due, Nkana at the moment  are playing good football. We very much respect Nkana but we don’t fear them,” Kalengo said.

“Nkana is just like any other team in the league just like Lime (Hotspurs). We will just take that game like we have been taking other games,” he said.

Kalengo added: “It won’t be an easy game playing Nkana.”

Nkana have never beaten Zesco United since the latter was promoted in 2004.

  1. At least this weekend I will be a happy man , this fraud called Nkana will be brought down to earth and baptized, and given a soccer master class by ZESCO. Just see how relaxed we look. Indeed nothing special about Nkana ..and they will be lucky from now on if they will even finish in the top 8.

Come Saturday, all Nkana supporters be prepared for the loss and no violence please because we know you chaps when your team is losing. The wheels are coming off big time this weekend.

  2. This ka coach is very silly and arrogant. We should teach him a lesson. How can he compare the league leaders to Lime Hostpurs who are at the bottom of the table and have just won 1 match? This is insulting us!! This Zesco coach has no respect and he needs to be taught a lesson.

  3. Iam no Nkana supporter but if that is the attitude of their opponents then thats why Nkana will win the league this year. If you dont take them seriously its your problem they will take you seriously. Nothing special about a team with the record of championship titles? Look for other things to say.

  4. I am Kalampa! Kalengo is correct every team is of equal importance. Nkana football club has reinvigorated the local football scene. Now we want to watch games on tv and cheer local talent. The Zescolo and Kalampa KAFWAWA will be legendary win draw or lose, we the fans win. It is like the Barcelona vs real Madrid rivary but better because it is home grown.

  5. @SOCCER FAN, you must be fraud yourself. 11 times champions Vs 3 times champions who use money to steal players from other clubs, KALAMPA LIKULU, GO NKANA GO……ABA RED

    • That money is genuine. generated from the CAF champion league group stage.Mind you the players who are making nkana tick are former zesco player, actually one is just on loan ku nkhana. dig deeper for u to know a lot.

  6. If we don’t beat this load sheders, then we will beat them outside the stadium,we are good on that. they know us very well.
