  1. This is nice of Lupiya ! Probably explains why I kind of like this man especially before he became president(a short-lived presidency though).

    • I hope that sympathy does not affect the president from trying this man for all the millions he has swindled from this country through abject flawed projects, that is where aimed at enriching himself and his family, coupled with his sons who are running away from the courts in your country

A thief or an alleged one, is never one to consider a friend, in-spite what comes out of them, you have to stick to the bottom line
You should Not remotely impressed by this calculated gesture.

      #unimpressed

      Thanks

    • Why do they all look GREASY including Dora, is it the Embalming taking it’s effect in their blood vessels blocking Haemoglobin flowing freely? Who is the presidents assistance, the head of state needs makeup before he appearing , i thought that was one of his privalleges, maybe i should get that done for him, i will apply if they can be flying me with a private jet to and from, yes looking good costs money especially when you are the head of state, please dont shoot!

    • There is protocol to be followed especially if you have been in that office. Am sure he is wright to console the President

  2. He has the right to choose to console who he values, Sakeni was not important to anyone apart from himself and his dog if at he had one .

    • Don`t you think your statement is too harsh ? He was another persons dad and husband. You shouldn’t allow politics to take away your sense of humanity and humility.

    • @Son of Barotseland, to disrespect the deceased is equivalent to witchcraft. Eventually, you will also have to suffer the same fate as Sakeni and just imagine how your daughter, son or spouse will feel to read something like that about you. Remember, words are like a ball: you throw them to others and one day they will bounce back to you.

    • ….You Lozis are an emabarassment to every self respecting Zambian. You are insulting someone who cannot respond which very unfair and inhuman! For sure God is “seeing” and “hearing” what you are saying and one day you may live to pay for it. It might not be you directly BUT your child, father, mother, brother, sister! You may be laughing today but you never know what God has in store for you.

    • @JUUNZA
iwe Junza dont generalise, direct your statement to #3, be realistic!! its like saying bembas are thieves when you have one stealing case with one mulenga sata!!

    • That @3 Not even any Lozi man can claim his paternity. I can’t even imagine any other tribe which can be closer to stupidity of commenting on a man like Sakeni,. Can you imagine even 4 people agreed with his comment? You are kind of people who force others to wish you worst in your life.

  3. Rupiah Banda if you were doing this even now you could have been the president, but the problem was you put Dora and Henry as your close colleagues!

Sata is one term, the wind is changing, hiding in state house as if he was born there, ubututu bubi sana.

    • …Very True!! Much as I hate PF, we had to get rid of MMD for the good of the country, People like Dora and Henry brought the might MMD down. If left in office till now, this country would have been bankrupt! Those deals they were scheming with Nigerians were deadly – only God knows how much was stolen. There is no way a Nigerian would give Rupiah USD$750,000 campaigns for free! Never!

  4. Banda is a statesman…

What most people do not know is that when South Africa withdraw from the then South West Africa which is today Namibia, it was handed over to be administered by the United Nations.

The United nations appointed Lupya Banda as president of Namibia for 2 years.

He his probably the only African who has been president of two countries

  5. RB president of all zambians with a freemason handshake to MCS President of PF.

Great to see RB consolling the once know it all 90 days action man Sata.

    • @mature
I wont babysit you!! just google and check types of freemason hand shakes images.. you will see that hand shake in the photo.. Just because your your holly hero is involved you think he is not a freemason!… all these world leaders you see today are freemasons.

    • ndobo,
do not be carried away with your postings.
ati all leaders are free masons. i hope you have also googled on the internet for you to scream on top of your voice what you are not sure of.
if you can call that hand shake a free mason one, then i do not know what a normal hand shake is.
simply put, all hand shakes are free masons according to you.

  6. guy respect is good to everyone..do not insult our former presidant…u have to give respect to him.And the thing you have to know is this is not a politics program..it’s about condolonces to our late minster.thank you from luapula mansa city.

  7. RB may have made mistakes (yet to be proved) during his presidency but you cannot take away his humility, statesmanship, intellect and international recognition.
Can this be said of his successor?

    • i have yet to come cross a cone man who is arrogant and cheeky.
all cone men are so humble with such humility that you are easily conned like the way rupiah conned most of these bloggers here and the country.
the bottom line is, lupiya is a thief whether he is humble or exerts humility or not. period.

    • @mature
you have a huge hate of RB which will take you nowhere, Sakeni was one chap with a huge hate for RB and today Sakeni is lifeless……………….and gained nothing from his hate,
All normal humans( not you mature) do show humility regardless of political differences. Even George Bush showed humility over that Saddam Hussen death

RB is 75/76yrs old even if you jailed that man out of satanic hate, his years on earth are numbered.
Mature your need spiritual healing for satanic hate!!!

    • ba ndobo,
i hate arguing over issues that are straight forward like you do.
all i have said is rupiah banda, humbly and with humility (not zeal), stole from our coffers hence he is a thief. period.
chiluba was called a thief by the same chaps he was winning and dinning with and this is exactly whats happening to your ‘hero’.
the best you can do is to ask yourself as to why and where do those in pf getting information that is incriminating your ‘hero’ from?

    • @mature
your biter hate is affecting your reasoning badly!!.. firstly RB is NOT my `hero`!! secondly who are you to say that FTJ was a thief when he was cleared by the courtsof law??… And who are you to say that RB is thief when his case is still before the court of law??

And Mind you Sata also wined and dinned with FTJ (in fact he was the first one to wine and dine with FTJ), so in your OWN words your holly hero Sata is a lazo!!

    • Ndobo you imply that if you hate RB then you will die. what hogwash! As for George Bush, your imagination must be running away with you. Bush never humbled himself on Saddam’s death. He must have of course felt very guilty for killing a man he had falsely accused of WMD but you never see any american president ‘humbling’ themselves after killing a foe. They are all arrogant imperialists

    • @Uwatambile
No no no .. dont quote me the way Fred mmembe does!!! follow the conversation.
My point is RB has shown human feelings to Sata, PF and Sakeni`s family over their loss, which is a good thing and that must be encouraged even if you view RB as a lazo or not.

So all in all as Zambians lets try NOT to hate or at least NOT show hate but that does not mean if you are a proven thief you shouldnot be sent to jail NO!!
Hate divides people, if you dont know

    • Between Sata & RB, who would score more points on an international stage in terms of looks, humility, statesmanship, size of cabinet, graft, health, country’s economic performance, number of wives/ concubines, allegiance with other sovereign states, etc .

  8. Banda paliba fi maturity zoona, we all make mistake but RB behaves well when required by the circumstance and situation! HH should really look up to this man as an example!

  9. if you want to hide information from a zambian write it in a book. RB has send the massage to sekeni family too through his exellence, read last part of the story………..

  10. Mbuzi izi – i dont see the problem here. Rupiah has sent messages of condolences to President Sata, period. Where is the problem? Problem ilikuti apa? Problem ilikwisa apa? Mbuzi chaiyo iyo.

  11. I just can’t help it but to admire and greatly respect this man RB the statesman, int’l diplomat and a man of humility.Well done RB our knight in shinning armor.

  12. For those of you who are young and do not know at independence in 1964, Kaunda sent every Zambian who had brains to go study abroad. The likes of Lupiya Banda and many others. In fact it was Banda while studying in Sweden who managed to find a scholarship for Chikwanda to go to Sweden. Hence Chikwanda abstaining from voting to remove Banda’s immunity in parliament..

Dull chats like Sata who had not been to school ended up as UNIP thugs for Kaunda to beat up people at markets etc.

Even in MMD Sata felt out of place as he was uneducated and in fact was not even there when MMD was formed.

    • Its Sata’s inferiority complex that has lead him to dislike people like Banda, Kunda (MHSRIP), Mwanawasa (MHSRIP) etc

Sata liked Chiluba because equally Chiluba was uneducated but streetwise. Sata felt he could manipulate Chiluba as they were of the same level. However, since Chiluba was streetwise he beat Sata to the game.

    • Its Sata’s inferiority complex that lead him to fire a number of Zambian from the diaspora who had returned to work at UTH when he become minister of Health. He eventually went to fire all junior doctors at UTH when the went on strike.

He has a natural dislike for educated people and lacks any basic management skills.

So if you are expecting a press conference you must forget as the man has no ability to co-ordinate any thinking to address a press conference later alone the ability to answer questions.

    • In fact having achieved to become president, he now has feed his ego to make up for his inferiority complex. Having achieved that, he does not care what happens to PF. The party will be left in remote drive while he his holed up in statehouse having achieved his go will the likes of Winter and GBM fight it out. The fighting is not from without. GBM and Winter have released that Sata abandoned PF along time ago hence the fighting.

  13. RB is a career diplomat. He was made to look devil by a named newspaper and PF. Lobbying is common in political circles around the world. Rupiah’s children, just like Sata’s were and are involved in lobbying and are rewarded for bringing willing parties together and opening doors for the investors. It is time consuming and demanding profession. Ask Maureen Mwanawasa and Mahtani who are the most benefited dealers-wheelers.

Rupiah did not commit any crime. Anybody saying that treasury would have been emptied if the had continued to be our president is unappreciative of diplomatic and economic foresight Rupiah displayed. Luanshya Mines takeover by the Chinese, cement plants, banks and real estate developments are testimony to his achievements. He blundered on FJT and ACC amendment act…

  14. Is there a picture anywhere of Prez MCS & RB having a meal together ?. I really would like to have a copy. Don’t they ever invite each other just for a meal to ‘break bread together’ ?. Why can’t our leaders eat together ?.

  15. He actually gave PF a hint when he commented on the MMD winning of the by-election. He said ” if you are not careful you are going to loose in 2016″

Meaning you are on your own and the way things are going am afraid you are out in 2016. I will be enjoying my state pension as president

    • the engineer,
this surely, looks like a preamble to the book you are writing about zambian politics. lol!
man.., its like you really have kept records of happenings on the zambian political arena.

  16. Condolences to His Excelence Presdent Sata & entire nation indeed fr loss of our ably & hard worknng Hon Sakeni RIP & enntire family.

  17. Some of Zambian bloggers, hate and evil minds, so what has gone wrong?? SATA lost a member of his cabinet, very sad. Former president despite being humiliated by the same dead man sends a message of condolences. Has he made a mistake?? Let us learn to think outside the box and tolerate one another. If only we can achieve this??, we would be a better country and live as human beings with love for one another. We are all humans. Despite the mistakes we can make. Feel for each other when one is down. Sakeni’s Family are mourning, whatever mistakes sakeni made. We forgive him and MHSRIP. I salute RB for the Message. Well done 4th president. what you have done is true Zambian values.

  18. to all Sata worshippers, mind you he is just human. do not demean other people whose destiny which is orchestrated by God Almighty you do not know. You are all just like flies and flowers.

  19. Mature need to grow up very childish you really think banda would be out of prison if he stole with people wynter and sata get your facts right instead of making wild statements with no evidrnce I personally dont like banda but cant accuse him of any thing because all thia crap you are saying is speculation, that doesnt work in court even the useless courts of zambia that wont work, so come up with evidence not no he stole money which money? That just shows how shallow you are kaponya like research then speak, you are proberbly a family person I wonder how you handle issues in your home if thats how you think

    • niggera here,
sorry mwana if i have offended you by stating a fact.
only a new man on the zambian political arena would not know that rupiah presided over the most corrupt regime in the history of zambia that even made ftj’s look like child’s play.
we are yet to see another regime that will be as extravagant as the mmd were.
you may call me names or whatever, but that wont change the status quo.

  20. HH is diappointed with RP for sending message of condolences to Sata. For HH it will be a taboo to console Sata & Sakeni’s family. HH has a hard heart.

  21. Zambian political leaders should exercise RB’s maturity. In the UK political oppenents will argue and even ridicule each other in the House of Commons but share a beer or a joke afterwards. Opposing politicians in Zambia are sworn enemies who can’t share the same arena even during national events like independence celebrations.

  22. For your info:
Rupiah Banda is indeed a solid diplomat with vast experience of managing conflicts and running countries. The man possesses such an admirable CV but he, unlike some people, never boasts about it. Why don’t people like RB write autobiographies or just memoirs?
How many Zambian for example know that Mr Banda was in charge of Namibia for many years while the liberation movement of that country SWAPO led by Sam Nujoma battled colonialists in the bush?
The United Nations Council for South West Africa (later renamed the Council for Namibia) was established in 1967 as the legal Administering Authority for the Territory until independence.
The UN had terminated South Africa’s mandate over Namibia in 1966. In 1971 the International Court of Justice ruled that the continued…
