Lessons from the Titanic
Watching the Patriotic Front members devour themselves reminds one of the night of April 14, 1912. On that solemn night, the highly praised and admired RMS Titanic sunk in the waters of the Atlantic—just four days after its first voyage to New York. But the Titanic would have been saved had the captain yielded the numerous warnings about the bad conditions on the ocean. The mere size and popularity of the Titanic deceived the captain into believing that his vessel could conquer the Atlantic and her icebergs—albeit he was wrong! The iceberg destroyed the Titanic.
We will never know the truth as to why the captain ignored those warnings, but we can surely avoid similar situations in life. Reading the signs of the time and yielding to initial warnings makes a good leader.
If you have watched the Titanic or read Walter Lord’s A Night to Remember, the confusion that ensued when the Ship was sinking reflects what is going on in President Sata’s PF. As the waters filled the giant vessel, not even the captain knew what to do. All aboard the vessel rushed for mother life—creating untold chaos on the Titanic. Of course, many people would have been saved had the captain and his crew remained calm—indeed without a vision, people perish!
The venom-less Cobra
Within two years in power, the PF has become a party without a leader. Each passing day, President Sata seems lost and unable to bring order in his own party. Most of us thought that “King Cobra” would bring discipline in the nation—I guess we were all wrong. The Cobra has been tamed and placed in a zoo at State House—to an extent that even rats and kids can step on it.
President Sata seems to live in his own fantasy world of 90 days. As his ichibwato sinks, the president is busy reshuffling ministers and campaigning for parliamentary seats rather than re-organizing his party and governing. Honestly, if President Sata thinks that the people who celebrated the PF victory in 2011 will do so in 2016; if he thinks that PF will win the 2016 elections; and if he thinks that his similar promises of development in 90 days will deliver him victory in 2016, then I honestly doubt his mental capacity.
For some time, I have been wondering as to who is the President of PF. Is it Wynter Kabimba, GBM, or Kambwili? When will the President realize that GBM is an opportunistic politician using PF to feed his crazy ego? GBM endorsing campaign is meant to introduce himself to PF cadres and thereby preparing for his own attempt on the PF presidency. Yet, Sata believes that GBM has his interest at heart! Likewise, Kabimba has presidential ambitions hence the current feud between the two. Sata would save himself by getting rid of the duo but the cobra is too blind to see. Am I the only one who has stopped counting ministers and other senior officials? It seems that the only thing Sata does best is firing and replacing his cadres with new cronies. Sadly, when it comes to GBM and Kabimba, he treats them as untouchables. Yet these guys are out to destroy PF.
Like the Captain of the Titanic, President Sata can still save ichibwato from sinking in the waters of Zambian politics. Many people want to see the King Cobra they voted into power in 2011; they want to see the Sata they believed; they want to see a president who leads by example; and they want to see the man of courage who can discipline imbeciles in his own party. Sadly, president Sata is calm while PF sails into dangerous waters—ignoring the early warnings. Unless he plans to use the Robert Mugabe way in the 2016 elections, President Sata won’t win his second term! The number of defeat PF has suffered in by-elections suggests major troubles for PF in 2016. Even in Northern, the Copperbelt, and Luapula provinces, PF is losing people to the opposition.
I find it hard to believe that the president has not addressed the violence associated with his cadres in the nation. The beating of opposition cadres and now fellow PF members demands confronting. Unless the President sanctioned this violence, leaving his cadres to feed on the blood of innocent Zambians is indefensible, and a crime against humanity.
Kabimba and GBM sinking the ship
In case he does not know, Wynter Kabimba, GBM and their cadres are the ones who are sinking the ship. When the duo was implicated in corruption charges, the president remained silent. When his cadres beat opposition members in Eastern province, the President remained silent. Moreover, as Kabimba and GBM cadres continue to terrorize each other and innocent citizens, the president is even the more silent.
One wonders why GBM, Kabimba and many other cadres are untouchable under the Sata administration! Is it because the president pocketed so many dollars from GBM that he is not courageous enough to confront him; is it that Kabimba knows something about the president that Sata is afraid to discipline him; or is it that President Sata is just an incompetent leader?
Let me alert the president—once the PF ship sinks, Kabimba and GBM will jump ship and join other parties—just ask Kaunda or Rupiya Banda. If I am the member of PF, it is time to jump the ship rather than wait until the ship has sunk. I hope and trust that the opposition is capitalizing on this confusion to give PF a red card in 2016!
By Rev. Canon Dr. Kapya John Kaoma
Only time will tell. But the writing is indeed on the wall.
A Reverend writing like that? These are the clergy who like preaching from book of apocalypse. When did you last read book of Nahum, you Kapya Kaoma (Dr. of ).
A preacher must write letters to Sata, not dreams. And what on earth made a “Reverend” be inspired by Titanic?
A man of God showing hatred of GBM palwalala like that? Nangu ni jealous its like that, GBM is not annoying anybody.
Who cares any way even if SATA and His Boat Sink, The faster this boat sinks the better for Zambian. its not things!! The way sata is Running this country, Where is TB Joshua, sure Sanga kwapule ko prophesy pali ZED
@Nostradamus don`t worry he will soon change from using the Titanic example to using Jonah and the whale.Pf might looks like it is swallowed just like Jonah was initially swallowed but at the end of the day the party will walk with its head high in the land of Nineveh(Zambia).Lol
@nostradamus,
you are so right.
what type of a rev./ dr would like such a hate piece of s**t?
christians, be afraid… be very very afraid.
Comparing PF and the sinking of the Titanic is ignorant. Zambians sink their own governments through ignorance and simple mindedness.
Well said my Nubian princess.Uli muntu sana.
BaLT what’s happening with my votes here? Any positive vote I click against PF is receiving double negatives/thumbs down on behalf of PF. What’s going on baLT?
The Reverend’s analysis of failure is more political than programmatic, i expected him to tackle PF’s failures and achievements on issues of social and economic development, infrastructure development etc; The Wynter and GBM fight has no effect on Zambia’s development but stands as an internal debate within their party which is healthy. If your members are not arguing with you in your church then just know you have a bigger problem, how do you expect a President to be responding to flies and any other who decides to speak? I think Rev you need prayers and am ready to pray for you
This is a sign of incompetence. The church is supposed also to full discuss this in biblical context and not Titanic novelists. What is your message to Zambian masses?
The biggest issue now in Zambia Govt and not PF is that there is no direction. Why? PF has a Govt has failed to lead. Now the even want to form PF-NGO.
No proper work-plan except each day has it comes, each is occupied with what to say.
squabbles are the order of the day. if read any article or individual name, you likely to read about PF squabbles more that any development issues. eg Hon. Mwansa Kapeya name and search in Google engine. SEE the results???????
Some reverends leaves a lot to be desired. This is the first reverend I have seen who is unable to quote a single verse from the bible but uses an example from the secular world.Funny how this compromised reverend thinks that the cat fight between GBM and Wynter represents what the would be voter in Mansa central or Feira feels. You shall know them by their fruits. This is one hell of a confused reverend.
Yes, Yes; At last he has broken the silence and accepted that his Ministers are DULL, the Boat is sinking. Please dismiss them. We have many Young Zambians that can come help you deliver your vision. Enough with Guess work, No direction, full of Ministers that are just passengers / spectators just to keep their Jobs.
@ Saulosi My brother where are you so that we can exchange our views on this matter. Remember our Debut on the sinking Boat. Sata has just confirmed. @Mfumu,@ Mphendula Kayaula whats your stance.
Sata owes a little people many favours, and when those people start fighting, hes got no option but to keep quiet.A very useless president we have.
An opportunist president we have. This “christian” president we have will sy one thing to hoodwink voters & friends then do a completely different thing.
Indeed a useless, opportunist and visionless president we have. The only vision he had was capturing plot1 ,after that he’s had absolutely no plan,no ideas and no insight on proper leadership.
Reverend with all due respect before you start doubting the cobra`s mental capacity you should as well do yourself the same favour by doing some form of self analysis. You can`t surely say PF is losing popularity when you are basing your argument on the outcome of previous by-elections.You can say that if PF lost any of the seats which previously belonged to them, but those seats belonged to the opposition so PF has lost nothing. The demographics for the electorates don`t change overnight so you can`t expect those voters to suddenly become PF in the two years that the party has been in power.Even in developed democracies like the USA there some states which lean a certain way i.e either for democratic or republican party(Blue and red states) and you rarely expect results to be opposite.
Good point you have right there Saulosi.
If that is the case then PF judgement is highly questionable. Why engineer by-elections in opposition strongholds where you have no chance of winning as you put it, with the resultant waste of hard cash (that is badly needed elsewhere for ARVS and BCG),waste of manpower with all sorts of government personnel including senior ministers wasting time electioneering instead of engaging in more productive endeavours and the waste of goodwill amongst the elecorate with the wanton use of violence by the likes of GBM? Also dont treat us like children with severe learning disabilities, we know that pa fipuba want to get the 106 parliamentary threshold to usher in a one party state so your argument about them ‘not loosing’ is utter hogwash of the 90 days more money in your pocket variety.
@Saulosi; you could do by being analytical. Statistically if PF’s margin of loss has been greater now than in 2011 even in the Opposition strong hold, this is a measure of loss. Just by virtue the opposition retaining the seat is not a measure in itself. The margin of defeat increased despite the huge amounts of money thrown into bribes etc (e.g. Mkaika). If PF knew those were Opposition strong holds and PF didnt expect to win, why did they petition the results and why did they bother fielding a candidate? The fact is they thought they would win but unfortunately the PF suffered a heavy defeat. Even in war, its a poor General who leads his army into a war when he fully knows he will lose. Admit it PF came second best and be magnanimous in defeat. I would have expected that from you.
@Mphendura those MP`s decided to cross over on their own and there is little that King Cobra could do to dissuade them.I think now the party has realized that it is too early to start counting the chicks in those eggs.I welcome the fight between Wynter and GBM because in a democracy you expect such.Even in Australia the labour party found itself in similar wrangles. It is healthy for democracy, what matters is how the conflicts are resolved at the end of the day.We will cross that bridge.
@mfumu democracy demands that even if you know that your chances of winning are slim you still go there and stand. It is that reasoning which keeps parties like UNIP and FDD in the races. It is a “never say die” thing.Let the opposition nick a seat in a PF stronghold then we will start talking. In most countries in the world there is nothing like the ruling party being strong in all provinces.I have a colleague from Russia who was just telling me how Puttins party has never won an election in his province but they keep on fielding candidates.Thats democracy for you.
Saulosi is making my day lelo.Tell them boyi. They can thumb down your comments but the message is clear.
@saulosi: Facts are that PF have failed Zambian people. It is a shame and embarrassing. Let us not pretend, they have lost their popularity, it’s just a matter of Time that you will see reality. Let’s wait for Sakeni’s seat By-Elections and the truth will come out. Frankly PF lack Direction, No strategy and there is no way a Government would be run like a Small Kantemba. I cannot see any Tangible, plans or Goals with proper road-map?? All we hear is their bickering with the President Keeping Quite like all is well. It hates to see these cheap uneducated politicians mess up our country. PF is the most useless party in the Zambian History. They started well but have lost it. So accept facts than pretending.
@Saulosi, I would love to engage you on this issue. Firstly, I would love to believe that you are living in a democracy given you have brought in democratic practices. Tell me, where in your country will you find the Prime minister or president going to campaign for his candidate and advising the electorate to vote for his candidate if that constituency wanted to see development from the central government? Is it a democratic norm for any party to use government resources the way our governments do in Zambia? Granted that it is a democratic right for any party to participate in an election, it doesnt take a genius to work out that when any party spends colossal amounts and time on an election, they are not doing that for the love of it. MP’s were coerced to cross over…
@ THE PRINCE I personally don`t get it when people(you included) say that the party lacks direction when day in and day out new roads and universities are being constructed. If I were you I can`t start judging them now(two years sure ?) but at the end of their 5 year mandate. The party is doing well don`t just allow the squabbles you are reading in the media mislead you.We will cross that river when we reach there.
@Imfumu there is what is called setting a precedent. You just have to look at all the previous presidents that have ruled Zambia before and you will realise that they all go out to campaign for their candidates and mostly using state coffers.Kaunda did it,Chiluba did it,Mwanawasa did it,Lupiya did it so I see no reason why Sata should be an exception. It is actually a norm in Africa.Remember the saying “if you can`t beat them join them.” You can`t compare our democracy in Africa and here because the social dynamics are different.
@ Saulosi: For your Info, I have inside info, nothing to do with media; All developments you are talking about were never planned. What did the president do? He wakes up one morning and endorses the Link Zambia Project. That’s my concern. Running a country like Kantemba?? Yes we need the roads, schools, hospitals, universities etc. But we should plan, be specific so that we build quality. Let us not do things just to Impress voters or be seen that we have done something?? Now that’s SATA style. Having said all this. No one in PF would correct or advise the President. They are dead scared because the man treats them like kids. Is that what you call Leadership or Democracy?? He has fired anyone who has tried to advise him or tell him facts. Let alone some Minister being fired for carbon…
@ Saulosi: Just to add on, PF are a party that just wants to take credit. Most of these initiatives were actually started by MMD. Not saying that MMD where Good? But I think despite their nonsense, give credit where it’s due. Please it will be helpful to see Development plans by PF and by when. The 90 days campaign promises failed?? We want SMART Objectives for our Country. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely) Not Guess Work. Can PF give us that?? I doubt because when will they fight?
@THE PRINCE that inside info you have is as good as hearsay. I`m one of those who don`t take such kind of information seriously because the source is questionable. The firing part is one of the sides I like when it comes to Sata. The man demands nothing less than a perfect job.Talking bout the cabinet and how they make decisions I wont say much about that because again that’s hearsay(rumours).Ok brother it has been nice chatting/debating with you.I have to leave now so that I prepare for tomorrow academic work.Have a pleasant day.
Saulosi come back man.I was enjoying this debate.I was following it.Ok study well brother.
@ Saulosi: Great one. All the best with your studies. Hope you will complete before PF are booted out. With your passion you might just be their Lifesaver, as the Boat is at the moment sinking “Nosedive”.
Useless thinking Mr Saulosi.
@Saulosi et al; to say “if you can’t beat them, then join them” is an argument to justify the poor politics of Africa and in particular Zambia, then I dont see any hope for Zambia. Whats the point for people to be exposed to practices that have seen other societies develop and still want to cling to retrogressive practices. There has to come a time when we have to break with these practices. Its so disheartening that we may pass through these western educational institutions and still dont want to adhere to democratic practices. I am not advocating the stopping of sitting presidents to campaign for their candidates, but its the waste of government resources. Use party resources if you want and promising development only if the candidate of the party in power is just not right.
Thumbs up Saulosi
SAULOSI… can you stop talking !!!? Did even go to church to pray for Sata? Who preached, that Rev. Kapya?
I mean a sober person can’t be writing all that, unless you are drinking Carsberg, it makes people temporally smart.
RB was also comforted by pipo like … who said MMD was doing well but 2011 was flashed out. Call sped a sped don’t misled the President by saying its a big spoon if we love him.
Pipo don’t cheat that infighting PF is not affecting governance. TOGETHER WE STAND
Zambians, we are a docile people that even a foreigner in all probability would be capable of ruling us on mere promises of deception.
Zambians invested so much in Michael Sata who only demonstrates ‘Cha cha cha’ methods of managing national issues. Sata does not possess intellectual capacity to be seen leadership or strategical philosophy to lead. This is slowly being noticed in his lethargic incompetence to manage chaos in his party under his nose. Leadership is more than cha cha cha persona characteristic, intelligence and education is a must, especially in today’s politics. As a nation we have to embrace new and innovative thinking in our Democratic pursuit. Failure to do so will end up with another Sata 2 of wasted years of development for Zambia.
Sata was unequivocally portrayed to be “a man of action” by those who wanted to see him become president. The Zambian voter was lured by the attractive bait. For now, unfortunately, it’s till death do us part!
U think u can discredit Sata by cheap Kalulu stories in kindergarten?Wht an oposition with no poli y maters except joking & making funy filial oriented bloging! And u think under 5 is geting ground?Where? No where u chaps.Ci titanic feck story comparable to a waving palm sayng bye bye we shal never rule.Self determined judgement bt the boat sails fr life!Ba fi colour whts yr problem.
So who does the author suggest we vote for? I wonder…
Unfortunately, the average Zambian wants a charismatic leader at the expense of intellect. Bring on presidential debates in 2016 so that the nation has a chance of evaluating aspiring presidential candidates capacity to analyse and think independently without being handled by aides. I would rather have an uncharismatic but intelliget president than an unintelligent charismatic one.
@Mfumu, I concur. In addition, please note that an average Zambian voter is still inherently a tribal voter. A tribal voter is one who values ethnicity and tribal affiliation above real leadership qualities. Interestingly, an average Mexican voter looks for beauty and/or handsomeness in an ideal candidate. What the Zambian voter needs to know probably, is the fact that charisma is not equivalent to good leadership. Chiluba was charismatic but certainly more of a better thief than a good leader. Though charismatic and a great movie star, Arnold Shwartzneger proved to be much less of a leader as governor of the great state of California. Charisma does not necessarily mean a good leader.
From the post it is clear u dont know mr sata there is Gbm is just folowing instruction at the end of it all kabimba wil remain SG but al the pipo he had been planting in strategic positions in the party wil goal leaving him just a shell with no suport he mighty have underated mr sata but again only those of us who has folowed him wil know when his hand is at play.
pure speculation
It is true pf is sinking boat and it’s sinking at supersonic speed. This has result of the party having no vision and direction when it was in opposition. PF main concern was to remove mmd from power.
Internal wrangles in PF is through brain child of Sata who is synonymous with violence
What we have in zambia is not a ship but a “SHEEP” with useless shepherds!
sata is losing popularity faster than RB in his first two years
Good article Rev. Sata himself jumped the sinking UNIP ‘Titanic’ before Kaunda fell in 1991. He personally finished off Kaunda with terrific slanderous revelations. He remained mute during the wasted 10 years of Chiluba,s rule. Kaunda revealed something about Sata…that he is just ministerial and not presidential material. Since he has gone mute again, I would concur with your last option…He is simply an incompetent leader who is totally failing to govern.
The Peter Principle, Sata has essentially risen to his level of incompetence. I can’t imagine that responsible citizens are right now busy campaigning for his endorsement for 2016.
If Ukwa gets rid of Kabimba, then the midget will reveal how Ukwa got all the houses he owns in Lusaka corruptly amongst other things. If he gets rid of the Great Bag of Manure he risks loosing the Bemba vote as well as revelations on how Ukwa personally benefited from the Transfigura oil deal with Kabimba. In essence Ukwa’s silence is not strategic at all but symptomatic of his impotence (physically and metaphorically) and paralysis as the proverbial chickens have now come home to roost.
The major problem, the really major problem in PF is that there has come a faction. I like playing chess and in that game all pieces including the queen protect the king. If the king is not protected, the end game, checkmate is the ultimate. Sata needs all PF members supporting and defending him. Thats why GBM is right despite other considerations. Do no abandon your leader or you all perish with him.
SATA IS A HOSTAGE PRESIDENT HE IS RULED BY MEMEMBE AND THE POST SO WHAT THE POST SUPORTS SATA JUST SAY YES BWANA WNYTER WILL SUCCEED SATA COME 2016 AND PF WILL LOSE TO UPND
The best thing in human life is when only what you want hapens. As long as that person you want does not become president no one will ever be good president. You called sata a dictator is this the way a dictator rule? WHICH PART OF ZAMBIA IS NOT SEEING THE REAL CHANG . MULTIPLY THAT CHANGE BY TWO and see if sata will have a competitor in 2016. Before that GO TO MANSA CENTRAL AND SEE IF SATA IS LOSING POPULARITY we want Father Bwalya, Mumba,HH to have candidates in Mansa central.
Who is calling Sata “a dictator”? This article is more about him being “hands-off” and that he is more of dead wood than dictator. And who is talking about Mansa Central? Zambia is more than Mansa Central.
I think this is just a story. Give us facts!
doubting Thomas
What story Basibuuku? Are you with us? Somebody writes an analytical article and you are calling it a story. Ha ha ho ho. You have made my day.
I like this one, ‘the cobra has been placed in a zoo at state house’
It is too early to predict the fall of PF. Right now, the PF is still in process of growth and consolidation. This stage is the rise of the PF. After staying in power for several Heads of State under the same party, then a natural instinct for change will take over. At that stage, the small errors will completely obscure great achievements. The achievements are in areas of fighting corruption, maintaining democratic practices, infrastructure development and warm international relations, to mention but a few.
where is the maintenance of democratic principles if opposition are not allowed to mobilise and meet with their followers sir? there is a non-achievement in that area.
God article Rev, but am afraid you are not seeing the real picture here. The cobra owes GBM favors! he supported the party financially during the 2011 elections, thus the reason he is “untouchable” why do you think he moved up the ranks so fast? Cobra is quiet now because he still needs the fat buffoon come 2016. He is letting him fool himself that he’s going be his successor, but we the people ( except from you rev and the buffoon himself) know that he’s just using him for his money. As in for kabimba, he should just shut up really. we all know that he wont be president however much he tries. The cobra is just waiting for him to make a mistake and he’ll be fired just like lubinda.
#The fist for president!
good*
no need to defend sata. he can speak for himself. & so far, he has said nothing. yes! nothing. shows useless leadership.
His followers have hope of a sata masterplan. hahaha! fat chance. before you even wake up! the ship would have already sunk!!
Sata was voted by the Zambian people to be president of the Zambian people, and not necessarily to become subservient to GBM. He must be GMB’s boss and not vice versa.
What a misguided analysis from the DR Reverend! Just yapping from heresay without giving facts and statistics! He cant even qoutte KK, Kapwepwe, Chiluba, Mwanawasa, Munkombwe, etc BUT brings in the irrelevant Titanic which he doesnt even understand and confuses himself!! From a DR Reverend, one would expect at least a single quottation from the Bible but alas NO – just pulls his opinion from thin air!! What a misguided Reverend sure – wasting readers’ time – next time DONT BOTHER!!
Can’t agree with you more…useless article filled with hate, what a man of the Devil!
….“One wonders why GBM, Kabimba and many other cadres are untouchable under the Sata administration. Is it because the President pocketed so many dollars from GBM that he is not courageous enough to confront him; is it that Kabimba knows something about the President that Sata is afraid to discipline him; or is it that President Sata is just an incompetent leader?”……
Answer: – All the above, and more.
“all of the above” lol
…But why ask in the first place if you are going to answer your own question? OMG – some people!!
@Chilyata, are you suggesting that you cannot tell that inverted commas like this “..” mean that one is quoting from somewhere else? You did not read the whole article, and hence you cannot tell that I actually quoted from within the article itself, Or are you just a slow learner?
saulos you are wrong.we all know that these election are PF remote controlled.hence, losing one is a big blow .they do pump colossal amounts. You forgot……. Winter once said that it was his solely duty to fish Stupid MPs from the opposition. This is an indication that although they spend money.at the end of the day, a true indication is that they are losing popularity.2016 going going.
Merely the tip of an iceberg. The bwato is beginning to sink.
PF is Going Down just like the Ship Costa Concordia in the shores of Italy. Captain Sata is pretending that all is well. Until when reality hits him. It will be so late that he will not save the Bwato, Just like Concordia.
Surely, Rev. Dr…! You seem to have hope that President Sata can turn things in Zambia for the better – am shocked! President Sata does not have what it takes to be a president. Those who voted and made Sata become president do not like him. To some of us its not a surprise that mistakes and confusions are the order of the PF rule. The only good thing about the PF rule is that we shall have a practical example of bad leadership after they are chosen out in the next elections around.
Zambian presidents are all the same about identifying or mentoring a successor.Dr Kaunda once boycotted elections due to such problems of wanting to rule himself. And this had costed UNIP very much that even today they are still dancing to the tune of lack of a successor.Dr Chiluba, instead of identifying the next president,he was crying for third term which saw the coming of PF.Rumour has it that the late president Mwanawasa once tried to mentor his successor but who knows. Those seem now just to be bedroom tales told to the former first lady. Hence,we saw Mr bwezani a Unipist snitching the presidency because the party lacked one. Though its too early for the GBM and Aleisa aleisa camps to be fighting each other, the president can come in the open to tell his position .
I think the writer is the one who is foolish by believing that Sata can stand up and condem violence because violence is Sata’s daily bread. Also this foolish man couldn’t see and read that Sata can never and has never been a good leader. KK who worked with him closely told us so. Chiluba (RIP) not only did he tell us but also demonstrated that this Sata is not a person you can ever trust with anything. So for us who have watched Sata closely and listerned to the people he worked with are not shocked with what’s happening to Zambia and the stupid Pf. The writer looks like saw some leadership qualities in Sata before he became president of Zambia.
this catholic priest is right..the monks know ..kekeke..pf is sinking sharply!!!!!!!!!!!
@ Saulosi. Your analysis is awfully pathetic. Zambia was Afcon Champion last year but got beaten this year. You can’t say after all we kept the trophy last year, so we lost nothing. Losing is losing, whether by 1 vote or 1000. Who doesn’t know(other than yourself) that these are PF engineered elections and that the President holds them so dearly.
How else can you explain that he chose to be on a campaign trial 600 KM away, when people were burying Zambia’s first Black cardinal just 2km from State house especially that the President is catholic and that Mazombwe was instrumental in Zambia’s debt cancellation?
Just admit that in PF right now, the Blind is leading the Blind and together they are headed for the abyss!
This is a well written article and I don’t see anything wrong with the man of God writing it. The issue at hand is that Sata is aware of what’s happening in the PF and is enjoying it because he likes circus. This man has never been serious in life. You can tell by the way he responds to serious issues raised by the opposition, he always does in a funny and childish way. We need someone who can respect and show leadership in that office and this man has failed to demonstrate that.
So who does GBM and Kabimba conduct themselves in cabinet meetings, if there are any in this government?
May day, may day!
Help please, Chimbwi-no-compass is sinking,
May day may day!
Funny but true.
Making a mountain out of a mole a hill!
This is very normal situation especially in an environment like Zambia, Poor nations in the world fight for everything that seems beneficial to them, infact in any kingdoms it is common to have members of a common group stabbing each other every second they get.
It seems so pronounced because every Jim and Jack has a match stick to burn the bush, no one is trying to stop the fire, People are just blowing the Flame even hard by rumour mongling, yes it is a well known fact that hour before the king dies, his brothers and their sons with their own subjects divide because everyone wants to be a king, Ba Sata is very old indications are he will not see us through to 2016 thus the confusion by greedy men which is normal in the political arena.
” I find it hard to believe that the president has not addressed the violence associated with his cadres in the nation” Rev. I also find it hard to believe that a you find hard to understand the reason why a heard of state has not addressed the violence associated with his cadres. REV. you are aware that our head of state has not addressed not the cadres but the entire Zambian population on his programs and where he wishes to take Zambia in two years that he has been in office. That being the case he can easily ignore a minority, mischievous cadre that is caused by senior cadres.
@ Saulosi, mature and Nubian Princess
All of you have failed to grasp the analytical sense of the Rev’s article because of your misguided support for PF. The Titanic sunk because it was over speeding in an iceberg section of the Atlantic due to pressure on the captain from the millionaires who financed its construction. This was all meant to boast to the Americans. This is exactly what is obtaining in the PF now. The captain is both held hostage by those who financed PF and is also incompetent to steer the ship and so he has sailed towards a clearly visible iceberg. I fear it is now too late, the bwato has already hit the iceberg….one minister has already jumped ship…
PF have a manifesto ,but the big man seems to have put aside the manual(manifesto) and he is using is own wrong experience,we have alot of people who are educated in zambia if consulted can contribute and atticulate issues of national development ,pronouncing universities without a plan is as good as non. what sustainable plans has he got in place , why cant we have an ordered development plan,it is not all rubish that MMD was doing, why cant he perfect and fine tune these plans, let the presido come out and consult outside his cabinet, there are other intellectual out there who have brains, tat is why there is outsourcing in managment, research and development, reengieering………………….
Why is it that pointing out wrongs in the PF and its govt is always equated to hatred, bitterness or some other bile-filled term? This whole issue of Kabimba Vs GBM is something the ‘Cobra-in-the-Zoo’ should have sorted out as soon as it was spotted. It is equally true that I voted for Sata, not because of his education or his ugly face, but because of his ‘Man of Action’ legacy. I expected him to remain proactive, being seen at the helm of authority; not the docile man that he has become. People within PF have stated that the bickering could cost the ruling party dearly. Don’t tell me they are just bitter! Being in leadership is mostly about learning to listen to the voice of reason. Knowledge is not the preserve of only those who support PF. Priests, Pastors, Bakaponya, economists,…
Good article, please enjoy the song on Youtube singing about the sinking ship in the Caribeans, Trinidad

The analysis by the reverend is not entirely correct. I do not think GBM is fighting for the presidence of PF. At stake is the control of tenders and resources. GBM knows that Kabimba camp with MMembe were to take the PF presidence, he will be sidelined becuase Mmebe and GBM are rivals. His strategy is that who whoever takes over the presidency should come from his camp and not that of Kabimba. Chikwanda is really the man waiting in the wings and GBM will still has influence.
….But then Chikwanda is just too old…please spare us these old men mother Zambia. The problem we have now is partly stemming from being led by too many senile old men.
The Cobra has lost it’s venom as rightly pointed out by the Reverand. It does not know which direction to go. It has hit a hard rock and its stuck. It needs to be smoked from the hole where it has coiled itself!
Nice one mr don’t worry about the villagers making hungry poor comments, these monkeys can’t even use there real names I am Casy I live in thorn park you can visit me you dull pf cadres
Clergy men have various responsibilities and one of them is to pray for those in authority. This should be done in love. Clergy men should also play an advisory role to the powers that be. If they see that something is amiss they should seek audience with the concerned party, hear from them, discuss and advise. Writing articles like this one should be the last resort after all biblical channels have been exhausted.
We need fearless clergy men who stand up to advise, correct and rebuke in a Godly manner. Not clergy men who rush to put pen to paper before meeting the concerned people to have an audience with them.
hey chap, the bible says: 1 Timothy 5:20-22- Them that do wrong, rebuke openly, that the rest also may fear.
Thats what the Reverend who wrote this article is doing!
THAT ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION WHY HE WROTE THE ARTICLE IN THE OPEN instead of hiding in the cupboard and writing Sata letters that shall enter his big dustbin.
@Observer, since when did President Sata open up to advice and discussion with anyone?
Clergypersons are prophets who at all times make humanity aware of the presence of God in every situation. Clergypersons builds and inspires hope in all situations, they are not alarmists! In this Christian Nation Zambia every decision should be analysed in the context of Christ’s teaching…love your neighbour as yourself. President Sata should be regarded as our neaighbour whom God created and has blessed at the appropriate time to preside over this nation. If he is making mistakes it means the nation is not imploring God to help our President Whom He has allowed to rule over us not to err. All authority comes from God, and when God is not happy with any authority He removes without debate. Meanwhile lets daily intercede to God Who has given usSata to help our President rule well.
The boat is heading towards Victoria Falls
Kaunda was right! Sata is not presidential material!! He is an imposter president! A fraud!!
ZWD: 1 Tim 5:20-22 “Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all..” The bible says “those who continue in sin rebuke in the presence” First things first, before you rebuke in the presence of all you need to talk to the brother who has sinned. if he repents good. Matthew 18:15-17 “And if your brother sins, go and reprove him in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed. And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax gatherer.”
And versus 19 of 1 Tim 5 says ” Do not receive an accusation against an elder except on…
@ Observer. If you want us to interpret you scripture in the bible context, then don’t enter a public debate like this one. You are just one of these common pastors running churches as business entities. Your writing is completely out of context and lacks relevance to the topic at hand. Try also to read what others are writing instead of just listening to yourself.

the basis of two or three witnesses…” Did the Reverend establish and confirm the facts before putting pen to paper? If anything I stated that open rebuke should be the last resort. But there situations or circumstances where it evident that people are living in sin and in such cases open rebuke is okay. Remember Christians are peace makers no wonder God has given them the ministry of reconciliation.
The other thing scripture should be interpreted within its context and in light of scriptures.
Mayday….mayday!PF on collision course with iceberg….captain alter course!! but ba captain bali full of arrogance and pride and is partying mu first class. We are not even halfway of the voyage but bantu balubana imwe sure!!

timing is important for anything we do, what makes kabimba and GBM to start fighting now when there is a long way to reach 2016, they have been in power for less than two years and they still have more than three years to go. NOSANSE Ministers, Fire them the soonest……………..
sorry
Ba PF. Sort out your wrangles otherwise you won’t even finish you first 5years of being in power
President take the driver gear but consult extensively of the repacations.we hope you can manage your cadres,so you concentrate on development.
A TRIBALIST WILL NEVER RULE!!!!
But we have a tribslist ruling
The ship sank because the designer was very proud of his creation and said that not even God could sink it. So that’s the only valid reason why the titanic sunk…trust me rev. doc I have watched the movie. As for ubwato no comment mwe cause I love Sata so its difficult to say much.
Father Bwalya saw the ship sinking and jumped ship. Deputy Minister Mwila has seen the same and jumped. It is only F.O.O.LS like Mangani who don’t see the ship sinking who go towards the tide. Lubinda would be a F.O.O.L to accept the PF Secretary Generalship not when he is anointed by crazy cadres. Sata is the only one who knows what he is doing and he is not even sure. That’s how confused the whole party PF is. Who allows such confusion to go on this long unless niwo funtha. Can you imagine the country being ruled by a chainama case? We were warned by people like RB and Chiluba.
Why the vicious campaign to re-install MCS as president in 2016; are we nuts? While a good section of the population that voted for him in the previous election, may have done so under the false belief that he was ‘a man of action’, whatever that meant, what good reason will there be for any sane Zambian to vote for this man again in 2016?
PF needs some discipline and order too bad like Titanic they won’t take heed
too proud and self righteous, if this infighting was in MMD the president, vice
his ministers will be mocking them, now they can’t see a log in their own eyes
God help us all
Ati BA Reverand. Imwe BA kaoma sure sure you a serious aini? I am neither in Kabimba nor GBMs camp but look at your article a “Man of God” displaying hate against one in public. Shame Shame. Nimwe muleonaula a a Church now I agree. I now believe what the now President said on race to mandahill at one time. You maybe the Reverand of FEACES
The article is well articulated. It is a timely warning to PF. The Rev is just giving advise to PF. The view of Dr Kaoma are the views of well meaning Zambians like me who voted for PF. If PF continues trading on this path, soon all who voted them will lose trust in them. Let them change.
Why do some people defend wrong things???is it a case of tribal inclination???why is it that even when PF is losing BIG Time in Mkaika, some people want us to believe otherwise??Some of us talking have, at least, 1 house, 2 cars, some K22,000 in the bank and yet some chap like Kamayoyo, sweating it out on the street, still want to support wrong things. these guys have failed and must be kicked out like yesterday.
