Cup final heartbreak for Katebe

Share

Silverware eluded promising Zambia defender Aaron Katebe on Saturday when his Zimbabwean side FC Plantinum lost to Shabanie Mine in the BancABC Super8 Cup final at Mandava Stadium.

Katebe’s Platinum lost 5-3 on penalty shootout after a goalless 120 minutes.
Shabanie have since walked away with US$120, 000 (K636, 000) for beating their Zvishavane rivals.

This is Katebe’s first season at Platinum after leaving another Zimbabwean team Hwange late last year.

The former Afrisports defender has established himself as one of the reliable players at Platinum.

Katebe has played for the Zambia National Team four times.

  1. Its too competitive for Katebe in Zambian defense… we have likes of Stophila, Hichani, with revelation of Kondwani.. bwafya.
Maybe if they drop goalkeeper Mweene, he may have a place.

  2. @Nostrodamas, HH is suspect while Musonda has aged and injury prone, Katebe stands a change before considering becoming a goalkeeper.

  3. Platinum has three zambian players in their books and these are frank mulambo(former nakambala leopards defender),aubrey chirwa(former konkola blades striker) and your favourite, aaron katebe.chirwa was one of the two players who missed a penalty.
I am kindly requesting you to be reporting on them all and not just katebe.people must be well imformed.
