Power fans assault referee Kaoma

Power Dynamos are in hot soup after their fans beat up referee Wellington Kaoma at the Trade fair Grounds in Ndola on Saturday.

Kaoma was assault after the final whistle of their 1-1 away draw with Forest Rangers by Power fans that left the FIFA referee with a swollen face.

He was later saved for further punishment by police who failed to protect him from the instant justice brigade.

Power fans were upset with two second half decisions made by Kaoma who sent off firstly defender Maybin Chishimba for a deliberate handball in the box that led to Forest equaliser.

Kaoma later denied Power a penalty after a Musonda Mambwe handball.

  1. This is not Good for our football my fellow dinamo supporters. But these refs are not being fair especially against power this season. I suspect some foul play @ faz. Viva dinamo.

    • Don’t blame ubukula ati the refs and faz are being unfair. Nchanga rangers is doing fine. Power yalipwa nka ama sofia lol.

  2. I sympathize with the referee and disagree with the thuggish behaviour of the Power Dynamos fans, but based on my own observations the referee, Wellington Kaoma, clearly erred; he should have given Power a penalty. I watched the match and even after Superports did a play back, it was a clear handball by Mambwe Musonda. I wondered how the referee and the assistants failed to see what we could all see.

  3. Power is just a finished team, you think other teams dont want to win? very primitive behavior.

  4. Supporters of football must learn and understand the “laws of the game”.Its not every ball that hits a hand that results in a Hand Ball. There is a difference between Hand Ball (deliberate handling of a ball or the ball touching the hand that is away from the body) and Ball to Hand(the ball touching a hand that is close to the body,or a striker deliberately taking the ball to the opponent’s hand). This is the simplest way of differenciating the two.A ball touching a hand is not neccessarily a Hand Ball.
