United Liberal Party (ULP) president Sakwiba Sikota says the Anti Corruption Commission’s failure to pursue allegations of corruption in the PF government on the basis of lack of sufficient details has put added pressure on vice president Guy Scott and Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba to prove their earlier claims.
The duo had alleged that there were corrupt officials in the PF Government at the height of calls for Mr Kabimba to be removed as party Secretary General.
Mr. Sikota says Dr. Scott and Mr. Kabimba should step down if they fail prove their allegations of corrupt elements in the PF government.
Mr. Sikota says this is because both Dr. Scott and Mr. Kabimba have brought their colleagues in government into ridicule and shame by suggesting that there are alleged corrupt elements in the PF.
He says there is no way Dr. Scott and Mr. Kabimba can continue to comfortably seat in Parliament and Cabinet among alleged corrupt elements and carry on with their business as if all is well.
In an interview with Qfm, Mr. Sikota has observed if both Dr. Scott and Mr. Kabimba do not prove their allegations they would have brought their colleagues in government into ridicule and shame for no apparent reason.

No one resigns in this government. No one has the integrity. They even call sata a coward and next day remain in the party. We are being led by a “pack of fools” building roads and infrastructure without a solid plan. The country will look good with that infrastructure and a crippled economy.

Saki is right to suggest that under normal circumstances the two should resign. However, in Africa you wait until you sacked. This is where Machiavelli said a good leader needs to be bold enough to act even against those very close and dear to him/her. Otherwise, the leader is creating ground for anarchy.
Integrity is not a norm in this party, even when called “ichipuba” one can still afford to smile and it is business as usual thereafter.

How will they fight corruption if they leave parliament and government. Dr. Scott reported to DEC and it up to DEC to ensure justice prevails the duo can only do so much, they cannot take law into their own hands. As that would end up being the abuse of office. Saki reasons arent good enough

Kabimba was sure he was gone. What he did is like p.i.s.s.i.n.g on the boss’s sofa in the dark and the lights come on before you are done! Now they are scrambling to explain that the p.i.s.s. was actually a toy jet-stream and the smell was a concocted chemical and all this coming from a fake bladder attached to the hip! Go figure!
