Lwandamina toasts Barclays Cup win

Red Arrows coach George Lwandamina has hailed his team for winning the 2013 Barclays Cup.

Lwandamina’s team on Saturday thrashed Nchanga Rangers 3-1 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka to win the 2013 Barclays Cup.

In a post-match interview, Lwandamina told journalist that he was proud of his players.

“It is good that we have given the sponsors something to be proud of. I am not an exception, every coach will be happy when you win something even me I am proud of the boys they have performed so well,” he said.

And Nchanga coach Fighton Simukonda expressed disappointment over his team’s failure to win any silverware this season.

Simukonda said Nchanga will go back to the drawing board and start afresh next season.

“We lost the game in the last 45 minutes we did not do very well. Even upfront we did not shoot a lot. We were shy at the goal.”

Simukonda added:”How do you expect to win a game when you are shy at the goal? We have to go back to our drawing board and start afresh. It is very disappointing not to win anything this year. We came close.”
