Zambia Under-20 kicked off their Cosafa Youth Championship defence in Lesotho on a low note with a 1-1 draw against Namibia at Mafeteng.
The draw has left Zambia needing a win in their penultimate Group C game against South Africa on December 7 to keep their semifinal and title defence hopes alive.
Namibia took the game to Zambia and went ahead in the 8th minute through striker Terdius Uiseb who headed in a long punt from his goalkeeper Edward Maova to see them take a 1-0 halftime lead.
And just 8 minutes after the break, 46th minute substitute Patson Daka almost equalised but failed to control the ball on the near post.
Daka made no mistake in the 57th minute when he headed ball past Edward Maova.
There was some late drama from both sides first in the 88th minute when Mcbride Ndjavera saw his shot come off the Zambia post while at the opposite end, Spencer Sautu’s shot was saved by Maova.
Zambia must now beat South Africa in Maseru on Saturday who thumped The Seychelles 4-0 in their opening Group C match in the early kickoff at the same venue.
We need a win on the next game, bring victory here & not stories. otherwise good play keep it up boys.

From the few games I have watched,I have to be honest with you,Zambia under 20 will not retain this cup!The standards of the under 20 have really gone up.South Africa under shakes Mashaba,Zimbabwe,Botswana,Angola have so far impressed me.Namibia are also not a bad side.Complacency has crippled into the Zambian camp.hey look tired and lethargic.The pitch also was really bad.Zambia must be at their best to overcome South Africa on Saturday.I forsee the top 4 as follows;South Africa,Botswana,Angola,Zimbabwe.
who scored the only zambias goal ? Are the boys (zambians)
