Zambia defenders Hichani Himonde and Francis Kasonde have been omitted from TP Mazembe’s 2014 CAF Champions League team.
The 2012 Africa Cup gold medallist were not on Mazembe’s 26-man list for their CAF Champions League campaign that the club posted on its official website ahead of the sides’ first round engagements at the end of February.
However, new signing defender Kabaso Chongo who recently joined Mazembe from Konkola Mine Police is one of four Zambian’s at the club registered for the CAF Champions League.
The other three are midfielder Rainford Kalaba including strikers Jonas Sakuwaha and Given Singuluma.
Mazembe are on bye in this year’s Champions League and await winner of the early February preliminary round tie between Akounangui of Equatorial Guinea and Cameroonian club Astres de Douala.

Are they not official registered as TP players. If they are, they are automatically team members and can participate in any game to be played not only CAF.
Its better for them to come back and continue sharpening their skills in our local super league. Whats the point going as a professional and be sidelined in competitive games?
Too bad for our boys,but as long as they are TP Mazembe’s players they are automatically the teams properties and are to be registered as members thou not part of the preliminaries.Unless they say they have terminated there contract.
