Nkana not scared by Gazza appointment

Coach Masauso Mwale says Nkana are not shaken by Mbabane Swallows’s decision to hire Zambian coach Chris “Gaza” Tembo ahead of the two teams’ 2014 CAF Champions League clash next month.

The Swazi club on Monday announced that it had engaged Tembo on a five-month deal as a co-trainer to current club head coach Nyanga Hlophe.

In an interview, Mwale said Tembo’s appointment will have no effect on Nkana’s plan ahead of the February two-legged preliminary round.

Nkana will be in Mbabane for the first leg match on 9 February before the return match set for Kitwe a week later.

“I congratulate him. Otherwise for us it does not change anything, we are preparing to win and nor amount of anything will divert our attention,” Mwale said.

He added:”His appointment has no bearing on our ambition.”

Meanwhile, Tembo left promoted Super League side Nakambala Leopards last week, where he worked as an assistant coach.

He has coached City of Lusaka and Botwana’s ECCO City among other teams.

  1. Imwe Kalampa, we should be worried that Gazza has been appointed. Gazza knows our style of play and also Masausto blue print syle of tactical planning. This worry will ensure we come up with a strong strategy to see off Swallows come 9th Feb

  2. As long we know ‘Gaza’ he can cause havoc to any team in Zambia. Don’t underrate Mbabane Swallows any more and be cautious of what you say.

  3. Bane! Ichishinka ca kweba ti tuli mu ncito. Ba Kalampa tufwile twapekenya bwino sana nga tuya ya cimfya ba kayimbi wa mupila ku kapinda ka ku kulyo…
