Chief Government Spokesperson, Mwansa Kapeya, has responded to UPND President UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema’s article in the Post Newspaper.

In a statement issued to the media, Mr Kapeya said that Zambians should begin to question whether Mr Hichilema deserves to be President of this country.

STATEMENT BY HON. MWANSA KAPEYA, MP, MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING SERVICES AND CHIEF GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON ON UPND LEADER HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’S COMMENTS ON PRESIDENT MICHAEL SATA’S RETURN FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM

Remarks attributed to UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema in The Post edition of Monday, February 10, are at best disappointing, and Zambians, including UPND members, should, if they have not already started, begin questioning his fitness as a political leader.

Mr Hichilema, according to The Post, says “he is happy to have recalled President Michael Sata from the United Kingdom” where he was “malingering.”

Government, too, is happy that His Excellency President Sata’s trip to the United Kingdom has exposed Mr. Hichilema’s level of understanding duties of the President and Zambians should begin to question whether he deserves to be President of a serious opposition party and later on of this country.

Government wishes to advise the opposition leader that even when the President is on leave, he does not abandon his duties. He very much performs his functions and His Excellency President Sata despite being on leave was very much aware of this fact and he was performing his functions.

In his own careless talk, Mr Hichilema misinformed the nation that President Sata had been flown to India for treatment and now that he has begrudgingly witnessed the return of the President he is struggling to remain credible.

Mr Hichilema should not talk about the President ‘malingering in the UK’, he should inform us about how the President is recovering in India since he reported about the illness.

Granted Mr Hichilema is still recovering from the crashing 2011 defeat, surely he should realize that it is one President at a time. The earlier he realizes this, the better for his health.

Hon. Mwansa Kapeya, MP
MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING SERVICES AND CHIEF GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON

    • 1). Kapeya is a disingenuous character belaboring in vanity to deflate public pressure over an aborted aimless trip of a Tweak As You Go leadership.

2). He is not a patriot but a job seeker who will bark to his last crumb of bread.

3). With limited or no intellectual prowess to drive home any intelligent points a national debate under PF leadership crisis requires, Kapeya is ill qualified.

4). President Sata is terminally ill and his administration has become ostentatiously active but in vanity. PF is in denial of its fate as a result its now characterized by pretentious, showy, vulgar display against common sense.

5). The sooner PF shows maturity by allowing Zambians to openly debate the health of their sick leader, the easier the burden. They would enjoy a respite from…

    • 1. I like the fact that these GRZ seniors constantly read and monitor ZWD (just like the rest of us in Zed and abroad).

      2. I also like the fact that they respond to HH’s ZWD publications.

      3. I just love the fact that Zambians have realised that voting using ones ‘private parts’ is not a good idea.

    • To be sick is human and not a crime. Zambians will trust their Government if it opens up on the health status of its sick leaders. That way, the public will prepare against this natural calamity that has befallen us with an absent President whose duties are abdicated to his trolls and shenanigans without constitutional mandate. Its not a situation that can be handle through erratic antics but high degree of soberness and rational acts. We cannot mount national prayers for sick leaders if we are being cheated or those terminally sick are flaunting good health when the opposite is true.

    • There is life beyond a job. Life is precious than a job. If these trolls irrationally staging up some sub-level damage control works truly loved President Sata and respected his right to life and a family, they wouldn’t be pushing to die in office. The man is sick and tired that all he needs is to spend his last moments with his family. Stress is eating him to the wire faster than he came.

Vividly Zambians are seeing other PF leaders in their progressive disorder of the nervous system characterized by progressive loss of muscle control, which leads to trembling of the limbs and head while at rest, stiffness, slowness, and impaired balance. As the symptom worsen, its becoming difficult to walk, talk sense, and complete simple tasks. Guy Scott is one of them hence ever venting drivel.

    • I THINK IT’S BETTER TO IGNORE THIS FUULISHEST MAN IN ZAMBIA BY THE NAME HH. HH IS ONE OF THE DULLEST FEW ZAMBIANS I HAVE EVER LISTENED FROM. HE HAS NO THREAD OF WISDOM, INGENUITY, OR EVEN CLEVERNESS. HH IS JUST A DULL FUUL. IT SURPRISES ME WHY UPND MEMBERS ARE STILL KEEPING THIS FUUL AS UPND LEADER. YOU MEAN THERE ARE NO PEOPLE IN UPND WITH FAR BETTER HEADS WHO ARE INTELLIGENT, WISE AND AT LEAST CLEVER IN UPND WHO CAN LEAD THE PARTY TO STATE HOUSE? WITH HH IN THE SADDLE STATE HOUSE IS A VERY REMOTE IDEA FOR YOU UPND, I AM SORRY TO SAY THAT. EVEN A DOG CAN SEE AS YOU VE NOTICED BY THE FIRST BLOGGER.

    • Wow!, the PR circus continues as the minister of misinformation and lies struggles to be relevant. These guys are truly facing a very difficult time because of HH. HH is giving them a run for their money. Sata told them if you don’t say something about HH nchito iza sila ka bamwisa bala tupoka ichalo.

Kapeya please try to be relevant by addressing the issues raised by HH. For sure all Zambians know that Sata went to India for treatment and never came to the UK. This malingering issue in the UK is just political spin and cover up to avoid the shame that he is busy sacking nurses at home while gallivanting abroad for medical treatment. Typical animal farm behaviour.

Viva HH the real Tonga Bull, faka more pressure, wina alile.

UPND and HH I am in!

    • @Senior citizen

Your analysis is captivating and inspiring. Lets continue to pump sense in these PF useful idi.ots who are fond of defending the indefensible.

    • @Nostradamus

Hilarious indeed! Sata is seating on two hot stones. This side “achu napya ine”, the other side “achu napya ine”

    • A bit off tangent here but I was wondering why LT has not been publishing the Muhabi Lungu letters to the Past Newspaper? There is a lot of truth written to exposes Mm’membe and his treacherous ways over the years. I am wondering if it’s a case of Muhabi not providing the letters for publication or a case of LT fearing the consequences of….

    • Can those who accompanied President Sata particularly his Press Aide PLEASE release the photos they captured of any Business meeting the President had with would be Investors while in UK.In almost all the trips President Sata makes abroad particularly the UK,HE NEVER forgets to address Zambians based abroad. Why did he not do the same this time?

    • This is not ifyabukaya……ba Mwansa kapeya …….ukutumpa awe……chalo ichi.
you are just following blindly……we wont even wait for 2016

  1. iwe kapeya, concentrate on getting life support machines for your sick patient, not giving useless press statements – we have seen the photos – we can all see how sick the guy is

    • HH must be giving some people sleepless nights!! kapeya instead of responding to what HH said he is responding to spinned lies from mmembe`s post…

And Sata himself said in `london/India` he was cutting short his leave because of HH,..

    • @Ndobo, I like the fact that you people think Sata came back because of HH. The fact is that the GBM’s “arrest” which Sata came to terminate could have brought an uprising today on Tuesday. Sata is having sleepless nights, HH on the South pole and GBM on North pole, he is really getting squeezed.

  2. i can see the new squiler’animal farm’on the block,if the president wasnt ill please inform us why his cut his london trip short and not that crap that he wants to attend to national duties pliz

    • A typical “Four legs good, two legs bad” IDI0T!

When is he going to get to the “no animal is allowed to sleep in a bed WITH SHEETS!’ part? That will be really funny.

    • Classic deflection. Maybe we should thank British and Indian governments for their diplomacy and non comment. UK is too busy with floods and resignation of immigration minister while India is just happy to have its Olympic ban lifted. Any working holiday comments they may have are diplomatically kept to themselves.

  3. HHim is stil bitter abt his defeat.HHim thought its easy never not at all.Who tod HHim politics & education are corelated?F**l & its HHis slogan wanting to gain votes welu wanyala!Votes only count shamwari irespective who they are.One with more votes goes & wins an erection.Just work hard HHim HHis Hakahi votela Heka!

    • What are you talking about rra/mma? You bring in ‘erections’ in an unrelated topic, why? Is that all you think about, or that is how you can express yourself at best? You must be one of those in favour of teaching in vernacular! Now see the problem it causes when you are trying the queen’s language.

    • Dada,
I can see that you are still backward and kaponya. Politics without knowledge is useless. See how useless Zambia is becoming. HH has knowledge and massiveexperience to develop Zambia in 1 term of office. Vote for him in 2016. you will never regret.

    • Thought your computer had died completely after I sent it a virus so that you could never bore us with your gibberish writings ever again! Sha! Kamfwiti.

  4. actualy Zambians and upnd should start question themselves if sata is fit to be the president for the following reasons-how does a fit president keeps adresing the nation through fb? How can a fit presido fail to run his party which is rocked with confusion?how can a fit presido go to a holiday without disclosing destination?how come kapeya is not answering isues raised by hh?how hh continue to biter when wasnt even near victory?

  5. Very childish and immature statement from a govt spokesperson! He issues statements about everything: a child waves at Sata, Kapeya issues press statement! A woman in komboni says Sata bufi, Kapeya issues statement…. etc

    • us Zambians are so docile and gullible, politicians are full of promissory notes, but because of docility that we have; we have again started thinking that HH is an angel and sata a devil. so that whatever HH says is always the right thing even when he says sata is in India when actually not true.and even when HH just coughs, you say Hallelujah! Let him(HH) become a president, you will regret again because you are used to regrets. Let me tell you, everyone who says me!me! me!me! or i!i!i! i,i can do i,i,i, be careful with such puffed up beings. your eyes are so blind and your ears so deaf not even to identify lies.you will therefore keep on regretting.the bible says the last time will be hard times to begin with. be it sata or who, the situation will remain the same; agree with me or not.

    • @chunda
you lose a battle before you start it, then you are an 1diot. are you saying you are like sata. if so then I may agree that all people are the same. I for one however believe am different form anybody else even in the way I do things. in that case even HH will not be the way sata is because we are all inherently different. get it in your thick skull

  6. Great.
Now can the people of Zambia be informed where their President was and why?

In addition, can the Hon. Minister clarify about whereabouts of the First Lady and the Presidential aircraft? After all, it is tax-payers money which has been used.

  7. Another Fred Membe press statement quoting the Post in order to stay relevant. Clearly they just want to pin the Indian story and president’s sickness on HH, but we have read what HH said. How about answering his other questions and issues he raised than majoring on what he has repeatedly told you that he did not start ..India story and president sickness. It is PF that started this.

And Oh, while you are at it how about some pictures of our president meeting investors.

By the way , where is the First Lady and what happened that she remained behind. Is our Challenger still packed in some unknown location. Last time I checked packing fees for a plane are exhorbitant.

    • I’m equally surprised that government still quotes the Post Newspaper, which is no long reliable. Is the Post not the one lied that GBM is on the Copperbelt? Is not the Post that GBM has sued for publishing a False story about his daughter? That aside, I thought the goverment must be busy doing constructive works instead of telling us about HH is bitter, HH is tribalistic, etc.

Now, why has the President cut his 14 days working Holiday? Next time are you going to tell the citizens where the President is going to avoid speculations?

I love the way you guys in government gather some energy to respond to HH. Please if you could do so to so many important issues that affect the Country like what was raised by the Pastoral letter from the Catholic Bishops.

    • There we go MMD bottle licker. You guys will never learn or discern. Kapeya has put a statement to disqualify HHs nonsense. Yet you still chose to rubbish it. What would you lot qualify as the truth? Mwansa Kapeya’s statement or HH’s untruthful childish rantings Get this into your thick, hateful, good for nothing skulls. Sata will continue to rule until his two terms come to an end. You think the Zambians are unreasonable and blind?Rupiah with his opulence and lavish overspending life style failed to conquer the Zambian. The Zambians voted for a leader who they gathered would address their concerns. Sata whether you like it or not, will deliver. I have said it before and I will say again. HH is an upstart and will never rule Zambia.

    • @Nigger of Nagasaki…….who do you represent. Certainly not the Zambians who are now complaining of:
      1. Non delivery of constitution
      2. Increased rental tax demanded from tenants; ie. additional tax
      3. Removal of subsidies ; and increased costs of almost everything
      4. Increased government borrowings ;taking us back to HIPC
      5. Increased joblessness amongst our youths
      6. Lack of investors confidence with antics IDC, SI 55, Vat Rule No. 18 etc
      7. Harrassment of businesses by the ZRA
      8. Harrassment of citizens by Zambia Police
      9. Continued denial of real issues and casting aspersions of a Billionaire (HH) as being bitter when he raises real issues of bad governance by the poor 7 guns (that is all he declared on entering State House) President.

  8. Mr Ifyabukaya, each time you open your mouth, I worry about what will come out of it. Your president as reported in the Post newspaper that you currently run as public media, stated that he had come back so that HH could facilitate his trip to India. Which part of that statement is not known to you? How do you attack HH when your principle talks the way he does? As Lusambo says, the presidency is belittled because of the people that speak for the president; Chellah, Kapeya, Shamenda….it appears all of the people entrusted to disseminate information on the Office of the President are childish and myopic in their view of what is around them. A prent cannot keep arguing with the neighbours children. At one point the children will look more intelligent. Thats whats happening.

  9. Instead of this useless response, just explain to the Zambian people where the Challenger is and what the logic of using it and then leaving it in a foreign land is all about. Also is the first lady away on official business if she is using tax payers money. If she is using her own money then she can do whatever she wants. You want to treat a presidential jet like a personal vehicle. Chi Sata is the same hypocrite who opted for a minibus instead of the official presidential convoy in Livingstone when he was just elected. what has changed now???

    • I remember during that trip he even settled his own bills and would not drink bottled water because not everybody in Zambia has access to clean running water. Now he cant even travel within Lusaka without using the very expensive chopper!

  10. This is what HH said “This illness issue came via a question from a journalist as to what my comments were on the speculation that State House was not being sincere to the public on whether or not Mr. Sata was unwell and his whereabouts (London or India for treatment after Addis Ababa). In response I asked Statehouse to clear the air on the whereabouts of the president and definitively state whether or not the President was unwell given that the President is a public asset or liability. We also indicated that if the president was unwell, then Zambians should pray for his quick recovery and we wished him well for him to govern up to 2016. Further, we indicated that we as UPND would like to defeat him at the 2016 elections given his failure to meet many of his campaign promises.

  11. Rif rafs would rather misunderstand HH. The truth is that the PF presidential hopefuls are the one who wish Sata dead. HH has clearly said illness of a person is not something to rejoice about, what more do you want him to say?

  12. I like how this govt always reacts to HH’s comments thereby reinforcing his status as a force to reckon with.Keep shooting thyself GRZ,good job.

  13. lack of education is a curse. kapeya can not read a statement from HH but decides to up lift statements from fact-twister mmembe as gospel truth! this is a sign of being a retard. kapeya should have responded to issues raised not hide behind sickness of sata. in any case people all know that sata is sick why hide? that is being an 1diot

  14. Zambia has lost not one but two Presidents in a short space of time. One of these presidents was a sitting president.Of course Zambians are worried about losing another sitting president .The statehouse PR has been disastrous in trying to hide Sata’s medical trips abroad. He is an old man and we expect him to have medical conditions what we do not expect is the highest office of the land to treat Zambian citizens like im.beciles and lie to us. Its an insult not only to those misguided people who voted PF into power but to the rest of us erudite Zambians.

    • death inst choosy, you might be as health as you claim to be and die before 100 year old man. what determines death is nothing but time.

  15. Mr kapeya you seem to be bent on telling lies all the time as a sign of which party you belong. At no one time did HH say HE MC Sata was in India. In case you picked this from ZWD and you think HH and ZWD are the same tell us this information first. Otherwise, you are the most disappointing govt spokes person ever since you are failing to tell the nation that you feed yourself with news from ZWD.

  16. childish statement from the government spokesperson. Mr president please fire this man i know you are a man of action. surely you cant allow such a useless statement to be associated with your government. fire the $$$$$.

  17. We were led to believe that the president was wooing British investors but to date no name has been mentioned. They are covering lies with lies and trying to steer the argument into a character assassination petty squabble as that’s were their strengths lay.
And we thought Kapeya will learn a thing or two about modern day public relations on his trip to the US…just another waste of taxpayer’s funds.

  18. Another useless statement just like chellah’s.HH discussed the issue with reasoning. He asked gvt to tell the nation where the president is so that there are no insinuations, he said Zambians need to know where the president is spending his working holiday just like Kaunda at Mfuwe in the olden days,We now question you and the level of your thinking if you can discuss anything but accuse HH without substance. Your response adds more to HH s votes in 2016

  19. so what if sata is sick you fools you will never rule Zambia ba fikala imwe.Just keep on wishing him dead but the president his in Gods safe hands

    • @e.k
stop burying your head in quick sand my brother. the bible says you shall know them by their fruits. are sata’s actions a sign that he is in the hands of God. NO NO NO. stop being emotional because the day he kicks the bucket you may collapse with a shock too. the very people you say will never rule zambia are actually the ones coming in, what will you do? you are just an individual, grow up

    • @matipa. What makes you think Sata is not in the hands of God? Are you God’s mouth piece now. Stop using God’s name in vain. Which fruits have you seen in Sata? your busy tryn remove wrongs in other people’s lives forgeting your own, hypocrites!.The bible says pray for your leaders and thos in government not to wish them death. If you want our president we freely elected to kick the bucket, it wil be God tht will see to it that you kick it first and your beloveds collapse with shock. We are all individuals including your self and your life and health is in the hands of God dont for this.

  20. people should question whether Hichilema deserves to be president? you would ask this if he was in power. but everybody knows that cattle clown (HH) Hatomba Habaume can never be a president of this country. the thieving cattle rustler is full of ill-will for this administration! let him rot in at the farm useless bankum

    • @Kudos! Homosapiens chose Kitwe the cleanest town…….is that all you can come up with? Such malice and lack of basic reasoning?! Shame on your self…….

  21. @e.K u r right God is the 1 has our LIVES & is the 1 puts & REMOVES LEADERS therefore u cant STATE tht HH will NEVER RULE, thts NOT true. GOD KNOWS.

@ Mulenga u r right, infact PF is INTELLECTUALLY INSULTING US. Intellectual insults r MORE excruciating than any other insult.

  22. @ Chunda u r surprising me HH is more trusted than ANY POLITICAL LEADER.
We cant TRUST all politicians but some r MORE TRUSTED.
imwe ba guy u tell u dont envy thise countries led by WELL EDUCATED GUYS e.g Us, UK, Russia & our very own Kenya.
Its painf u think like tht Chunda.
    Viva HH viva UPND.

“Will ALWAYS GO with ECONOMICAL MANAGERS”

  23. Why is Mr Kapeya failing to answer other pertinent questions HH raised? Why go for what Mmembe falsely accused HH? Mr Kapeya is just exposing PF’s mediocrity! We are tired of these people.

    • I beg to slightly veer….what he is exposing is that Fred M’embe is the one managing Government propaganda. Fred is to Zambia what Goebels was to Nazi Germany. However, I refuse to be like the Germans who followed Goebels blindly into slaughtering the Jews because of one man’s propaganda. The most DANGEROUS and MALEVOLENT person to have ever walked the face of Zambia is Fred M’embe. Let us in unison stop this demon before he destroys the soul of our nation.

  24. as much as he was working he and his entourage came back much earlier than the earlier state period of stay.so let them pay back the allowances they got to cover the entire stay.i thought thats one of the issues HH brought out why have you skipped that aspect convenietly.

  25. Kapeya is one of the very dull people in zambia causing so much torment on the poor people. He is fit to be at a farm rearing pigs or something. Leave politics to capable people. Your cohorts are a disgrace bwana. Go st/ink somewhere…. this is too much men.

  26. HH went for ‘Pen******* Enlargement’ in Chinyunyu last week, no one was singing about it. Sata goes for his annual medical check up, everyone stops thinking straight, what’s up fellas?

  27. HH is giving the PF sleepless nights. Faka pressure. We need real checks and balances. HH is the way to go. Dear country men and women, let us, for a change, consider HH for the presidency. We need someone to revitalise our economy, create jobs and bring the badly need foreign investment. Government cannot create all the jobs like PF is thinking. So, in 2016, lets all vote HH. I am from Eastern province and it is my view that slowly our allegiance is SLOWLY BUT SURELY SHIFTING TO HH.

  28. There is too much insults among bloggers. Some of them are even insult adults fit to be their parents, even grandparents. Let us learn to respect adults, and ourselves otherwise omo akatuka no walile banyina ichisungu.

  29. Hi. Mr . Kapeya, many thanks for reflecting your overwhelming IGNORANCE and DULLNESS to well meaning Zambians for they have realized you are a HOPELESS character not worth associating with.
God redeem Zambia through UPND GOD BLESS ZAMBIA THROUGH HH.

  30. After they “swallow some alcohol”…..hahahahaha u ve made me LAUGH.

    BY THE WAY :
I was just reading the History of Kapwepwe, KK and Nkumbula.
Zambia is has an interesting HISTORY.
So ba Nkumbula was ARRESTED FOR CARELESS DRIVING.
I ve just refreshed myself OVER THIS HISTORY for sure the proverb goes “He who knows where he comes will kno where is going”.

VIVA ZAMBIA VIVA UPND and ALL WELL MEANING ZAMBIANS wherever u come from.

  31. Ba Kapeya, your spin reminds me of the veep under LPM, Lupando “Katoloshi” Mwape who announced to the nation that Mwanawasa was jogging in London & yet he was hospitalized for the first stroke attack. Sometimes, “kwikalafye ziii…”

  32. Of late opposition leaders have become very vocal, except Nevers Mumba.
I sense there is something brewing and Nevers might be paving way for the big man to takeover the moment there are presidential elections. With PF messed up and opposition Miyanda, HH, Fr. Bwalya, I suspect the big man from MMD will run and win next elections.

  33. This guy can say what he wants to protect Ukwa after all he has within 30 months acquired a mansion that he couldn’t afford before. We challenge him to tell the Nation where he has got the money from? Shame on these thugs.
