Keagan Mumba is dead

Former Zanaco and Zambia Under-20 coach Keagan Mumba is died.

Mumba died on Sunday after an illness at Lusaka Trust Hospital just three months after parting ways with Zanaco in December whom he guided to the 2012 league title.

The outspoken coach courted controversy in 2013 with the major highlight coming in May when he was slapped with a 60- day ban from the game by the Football Association of Zambia.

This is after criticizing ex Zambia coach Herve Renard’s scouting programme for the 2014 CHAN qualifiers and 2013 Cosafa Cup.

Mumba later returned to the Zanaco bench in August but failed to retain the FAZ Super Division title after leading the club to a fifth place finish.

At national level, he won back-to-back Cosafa Under-20 titles in 2010 and 2011.

He also had coaching stints abroad at Motor Action and Highlanders in Zimbabwe.

  1. How old was he? RIP
Too bad that life expectancy in Africa is below 50years old, thats sad.

  2. MHSRIP. ..why is it that the genuine good honest guys are leaving us all we are left with are rotten Kalu and his corrupt bandits.

  3. LT at least state how old the man was and how many children he has left behind instead of copying and pasting everything from your source. These are simple basics…what’s happening to journalism in our country.

  4. Mhsrip, will be missed for his massive contribution in the development of Zambian football.sad.

  5. Some one needs to say something about his playing days also, for example how he played for the national team while at school etc.

  6. No mention of Konkola blades, a team he coached for period longer than he did at Zanaco.
