The Patriotic Front (PF) has abandoned its original loyal members and has embarked on a crusade to persecute them despite the sacrifice they made for the ruling party to emerge victorious in the 2011 general elections.

Former Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has said that it was regrettable that President Michael Sata had decided start persecuting people that had dedicated their lives and resources to the party when it was in the opposition.

Addressing a combined crowd of PF and UPND sympathizers at the former PF headquarters along Luanshya Road soon after leaving the Magistrate Court yesterday, Mr Mwamba recalled that when President Sata was accused of laundering US$100 000, he (Mwamba) came to the protection of the Head of State to save him from going to prison.

Mr Mwamba said the PF had not only been persecuting perceived political enemies but had extended its hatred to traditional leaders and was harassing Henry Kanyanta Sosala, the new Paramount Chief Chitimukulu, the Litunga of Western of Province and some other chiefs in the Eastern Province.

He explained that many Zambians were suffering from injustices at the hands of the PF government and that he was ready to continue denouncing evils that were being perpetrated because he believed in virtues of fairness, justice and honesty.

He said it was unfortunate that PF had quickly forgotten the people who helped it to form government, stating that time would soon come when God would pull the rug from under their feet and expose them for who they have been to Zambians.

Mr Mwamba said when President Sata was being persecuted by the MMD; the Kasama Central MP strongly supported the Head of State to a point of making personal sacrifices because of the love of the PF and the people of Zambia in general.

“When Mr Sata was being persecuted by the MMD, I stood by him when most people were avoiding him. Mr Sata was accused of laundering US$100 000 and I risked my integrity and my business and defended him. Even this building which the PF used as form government, they wanted to repossess it and I had to fork out my own money about K2.5 billion then. Why should we allow individuals to start persecuting chiefs? It is not only in Northern Province but in Eastern and Western Provinces,” Mr Mwamba said.

Mr Mwamba paid tribute to opposition political party leaders for their support since the PF regime turned against him soon after he resigned from his cabinet position as Defence Minister.

The former defence minister accused the PF government of perpetrating vengeance and retribution against its own citizens to please the inflated political ego of a selected and non-elected group of known individuals.

Mr. Mwamba revealed that the PF regime had hatched a scheme in which they were fishing for reasons to send him (Mwamba) to prison on some trumped up charges so as to eliminate him from the political arena.

Mr Mwamba said that he was aware that the state had infiltrated his companies and employees so that they could find reasons to persecute him before sending him to jail.
He stated he had never been a coward and vowed that he was ready to face jail for standing against what he called the evil cartel in the PF government.

Mr Mwamba has advised President Sata and the PF regime to stop being vengeful and intolerant because Zambians voted for the PF for justice, love, reconciliation and not vengeance, retribution and victimization.

He said President Sata and the PF government should instead expend their energy on reducing the prices of mealie meal fuel and other basic needs because life had become virtually unbearable under the current leadership.

“I sincerely thank you for your support and this support has not started today. It started a long time ago when you saw that the PF government had started persecuting me. I want to let you know that so many people in this country are suffering from injustices being perpetrated by the PF government. Where we are today, that is where the PF government was formed and this is my building. Today I have become a pariah in a party I fought so hard to help form government. They (PF) are full of vengeance and retribution but I have never been a coward and I am ready to face prison for the sake of Zambians,” Mr Mwamba said.

And Alliance for a Better Zambia (ABZ) president Frank Bwalya said Zambia had been invaded by a snake and it was time the country remained united to defeat the ambitions of the evil cartel.

So you didn’t that Sata is an evil man. The man does thank people who help him at all, he thanks his enemies more than people like you.

    Welcome the world of sanity!

    • GBM please!
i get your point but for now president Sata is sick,,,, let him rest and drink some manzi amoyo for strength and energy,,,,,,,,, GBM being an donor yourself,,, please donate some cartons of manzi amoyo to state house,,,, a life can be saved

    • what exactly did you do for Sata? stop your childish bragging and openly tell the nation what you did

I know that MMD was more than ready to use the state machinery to silence and lock up Sata and there is absolutely nothing you could have done as GBM

if you supported PF in opposition and thought you were going to continue being a nuisance while in govt, you got it all wrong

You were Minister of Defence but due to your stup1dity you resigned at your own volition and you have now become minister of Offence beating and assaulting people including your wife.

Sata or PF are not the ones causing you to assault people. its your freaking choice.

Stop blaming others and deal with your own criminal acts

    • @Gen, don’t even dare travel for soccer in Tampa next week, because I will assault you big time, not those slaps of GBM, ine nkakuponona fye.

    • Zambians voted for the PF for justice, love, reconciliation and not vengeance, retribution and victimization.very true

    • GBM my brother, that’s Zambian politics for you – there are no guarantees and these guys don’t respect or reward loyalty. Everyone that’s gets into it is greedy by nature. Service to the people is secondary to self enrichment, the electorate only matter at election time after which they are virtually relegated to slaves. If you pump in too much money you’ll lose lose it all. Those whose put in more thuggery and insults end up victors instead. Funny political culture isn’t it?

    • You don’t go round beating people simply because you helped the party in Govt. It is your character Sir Mr. Mwamba that is putting you in problems and not Sata. If anything if Sata really wanted to fix you he could have done it a long time ago. By the way how did you defend Mr. Sata? There’s a saying that goes: ‘He who steals the Yam and He that hides it and He that sells it they all commit the same offence’. Go on sir tell the nation what other wrongs you have done. ZNS contracts???? By the way PF has grown and developed beyond Sata, GBM and Kabimba. It is a party with a lot of credible people capable of out-doing any opposition. GBM go to Kasama and stand as a fighter (bully) and see who is going to vote for you. People are not stupid. Maybe use Nevers as you are doing but not you.

  2. If you genuinely help someone should you want favours in return. ..GBM at one time all contracts were single sourced to your companies. Its fair to say Sata repaid your debt 10 times over its hard working honest business men and taxpayerd who suffered.

  3. GBM is a man of integrity and a very principled, there are very few… or maybe no ministers that would just resign in Zambia.
I have great respect for GBM for standing out for the Bemba speaking people and the paramount chief Chitimukulu.

GBM helped Sata in so many ways, not only did he defend him when he was accused of laundering US$100 000 but also bought Sata 4×4 vehicles to tour the country when he had no car.
God will really pull the rug from under their feet, i actually think that he is already started pulling the rug from under their feet. God will save us from the misery were have been put in

    • Where was that integrity when he was corruptly awarding himself all those defence and public contracts?

    • GBM spoils it when he behaves worse than Sata, taking the law in his own hands by beating his workers. He beats his wife and justifies it saying it’s an expression of love. He strikes me as a lunatic kind of person.

    • @Jay Jay, which contracts? the PF is trying to implicate GBM on the ZESCO contract which he did not even get, he did not supply the poles and believe me, this case will die a natural death.

People who are getting contracts are people like Kabimba, M’membe, Chuumbwe, Mulenga Sata etc. GBM already had money even before PF was in power

    • You Ka Mwaba-Jr,
what GBM integrity, as defense minister his mealing company supplied the army, his trucks were fully booked by FRA while ordinary truckers languished, if that is integrity for a man who has money as you say, no wonder we will suffer as a country.

    • Where was this integrity when he brought Lusaka CBD to a standstill with his PANGA wielding cadres in the fracas against dull Kabimba?

  4. This marks the beginning of the end of the PF and the timing of it is a big blow on the ailing president. Let’s wait for conflicting responses from the likes of George Chellah, Shamenda, Katema, Kambwili and Daniel Munkombwe.

  5. Sosa tunfwe ifyasheleko ku bufi bwa ba PF cadres. Blood is thicker than water. We knew that PF was made on wrong principles. Let us see how they will expel Mwamba from the party. He has demonstrated that he is no longer PF by his words when read in between the lines and let us hear what the executive will do

  6. “Mr Mwamba recalled that when President Sata was accused of laundering US$100 000, he (Mwamba) came to the protection of the Head of State to save him from going to prison.”
I think GBM shouldn’t have defended Mr. Sta if indeed he Mr. Sata was involved in money laundering. It shows that GBM is not an upright individual. He cannot be trusted. Wasn’t he defending something illegal. This is wrong. This is the kind of behavior that is hurting Zambia’s progress.

  7. If you help someone and you go to blow your own trumpet about the help, that help is forfeited. GBM, don’t get me wrong. You did a good thing to help Sata in whatever is claimed. But, you should have let another person blow the trumpet on your behalf. And mind you, if you spent so much to help Mr Sata and PF, then you should know that even abena Nevers Mumba and others in opposition are getting closer to you pantu balefwaya umutulo. Especially, Nevers who is so used to just being given handouts rather than working hard for himself. WATCH OUT. THAT IS A MAN OF THE COLLAR WITH A BOTTOMLESS BEGGING BOWL.

  8. GBM BIG TIME AND REAL MEN

SHAME TO PF AND ITS LEADERSHIP.
LESA ALEMILOPOLA IFIKOTI FOR BEING DECEITIFUL. GBM JOIN HH AND HIS TEAM SO THAT YOU SHAME YOUR FORMER PF LEADERS TO SAY INTEGRITY PAYS. KABIMBA IS BUSY CAMPAIGNING WHEN HIS BOSS IS VERY SICK WHAT A SHAME.

  9. Dishonest begets dishonest. Cheating begets cheating. Don’t ukubeba begets don’t ukubeba. So, what else did GBM expect?

  10. ….if you want to know how the hippo ‘behaves’ , ask the crocodile when its out of the river….
..that statement about ..’defending’ MCS over money laundering saga sounds abit weird….did GBM lie to the authority to avoid MCS going to prison..??
…did GBM really slap or hit his manager causing bodily harm or injury..??..if yes, and the victim reported that incidence to the police… how was that supposed to be handled..??
…were the police supposed to say…’is it GBM who beat you up..?
    ..’yes’…
…’nooo, we cannot pursue this case, GBM has done a lot for PF…..’ meaning he is allowed to commit any crime and go scot free because he helped PF form govt..??
However, I sympathise with GBM….I can only imagine what is going thru his mind…

    • ni ciZungu, naiwe. Cabvuta nicani kansi?

We olowez telle u dat justi use your moda tongue, buti you refuse. Now you are sayingi things that readers can’t understandi. Si mwaona!

    • @sauzande…
…bcos of limited space LT give us, we edit and sometimes end up with ‘short hand’ versions expecting the reader to intelligently connect the ‘dots’ to make sense out of what has been written….. I have come across a lot of spelling and grammar errors on this site all I do is read again and correct the errors as I read……..
I guess it is the conversation part between policeman and the victim which confused you….I meant to go like this……….
Policeman…..’is it GBM who beat you up..?’ asking the victim
      Victim……’yes’
Policeman…..’nooo, we cannot pursue this case because GBM has done a lot for PF’…

Hope it makes sense to you now…..

  11. Ba GBM that is the game of politics…voluntally people go in and come out through the same path. The problem some of you behave as if you are the only ones who can be politicians. You behave like some so called Christians, who think in their case even when Jesus comes will find them alive, they are the ones to welcome him. Only others can die….

  12. GBM has spilled the beans. It’s getting uglier by the day. Wonder what tomorrow holds for this country!

    • What beans has GBM spilled? If anything he has opened a can of worms that should have been kept shut! He should be arrested for aiding and abetting a money launderer. Next time engage your brain before posting

  13. GBM – Sorry, abetting a crime is a crime. You guys committed so much evil to get into power – and continued when in power. Now that you are turning against each other is not solid ground for you to start engaging in populist politics. This is going to get really ugly – because you are just a collection of very evil people who cheated your way into power.

  14. I really wonder how you will develop that your Zambia, when you always avoid integrity and embrace people who are doing wrongs just because they are in opposition to the government.
What has Sata have to do with GBM beating his worker fellow country men and women? Let us be wise enough to even see this so called Father Bwalya’s integrity.
Why is he welcoming people who are abusing poor workers in Zambia?
The person who was beaten is just a poor guy who should be supported by this same guys calling themselves “Fathers”. Probably they are fathers for the devil.

  15. Namakao Mmembe must be enjoying this. I hope he too & his golden boy Kabimba will dance ‘pelete’ from the lady IG! There is time for everything.

  16. It is interesting how politician become wise when are pushed out of position of authority.
Mwamba says “he is being persecuted because he believed in virtues of fairness, justice and honesty”. He is not even ashamed of himself, this man.

Isn`t this the guy who thought he owned Zambia when he was a Minister. I guess only his fellow retards will listen to him.

  17. It’s a classic example of power struggle gone bad. GBM surrendered the fight to Kabimba hiding behind Sosala. The intention to resign a cabinet post was for him to concentrate on consolidating his position as the next PF president. Instead he stood by his violent ways and now he wants us to believe that he’s being persecuted.

  18. GBM; have you ever heard of the real rich men, the ‘Kochs’ of Zambia, such as Mahtan, Mtine, etc, boasting about their wealth? Now you with your paltry wealth from running buses and a few trucks here and there makes you bloated. Shame!

  19. ….How many more are still inside but 2moro will say something else!
Charley Kay will soon be lonely…
    The wolves continue ‘feeding’

  20. Pls read his statement properly, GBM is not asking to be favoured by President Sata, but rather he is disappointed in the way he is being treated just because he had the guts to resign;

  21. That is why Zambians don’t progress into real tycoons just a few kwachas watampa ichipongwe look at your friends from west Africa the DANGOTES , GUNNASES they are big businessmen quietly now our fools ni bobobobobobwabwabwanyonyopwipwi
