Share

Kabwe Warriors boosted their survival hopes on Sunday after a 1-0 home win over Zesco United at Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.

Warriors have now picked up seven points from six games under new coach Mohamed Fathy since his appointment in late May.

A 55th minute solo effort by Brian Mwila secured Warriors their third league win of the season.

Warriors are also now unbeaten at home after for a second successive game since beating Nchanga Rangers 2-0 on June 14.

Meanwhile, Warriors hero on the day was their relatively unknown goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga who shut out efforts by Maybin Mwaba, Jackson Mwanza and Alfred Luputa.

Warriors rise from second from bottom in 15th place to 14th on 13 points from fifteen games played.

Zesco stay put in second place and three points behind leaders Zanaco after suffering their second loss of the season on 30 points with a game in hand against Nkana coming up on July 12 in Ndola.

    • Zesco alala guys slowly but sure mpoooo train on the way but get the facts right, has fatty already played six games for Warriors? How does the company that is struggling to supply power in zed beat istima,i am sure they now know how it feels to be blacked out.

  1. Well done warriors. By the way anyone with Brian Mwila phone number the hero who scored goal against Zesco. He forgot one of his parcel in my car.

  2. Good performance Kabwe Warriors. Continue doing good and you can be rest assured of serious financial support from some of us who love you (the team) so much. God Bless You all.

    • GIVE THEM SUPPORT WHEN THEY ARE DOWN ALSO ! NKANA FANS SUPPORTED NKANA THROUGH THICK AND THIN ! WARRIORS SUPPORTERS SHOULD ALSO DO THE SAME !

  3. The performance of the three defence force teams namely Green Buffaloes, Red Arrows, and Green Eagles lives much to be desired. Green Buffaloes in particular are a frustrating lot. Buffaloes have the largest pool of players in Faz preamier and other leagues. Teams like Chindwin sentries, Kalewa, Lwena Buffaloes, Mpanzers, Rifflemen. One woders how they fail to mobilize the best 11 from all these clubs. One may ask what sort of plaers do you have in these clubs who can not meet the grade of playing pramier league football. I dont believe soldoiers can fail to run football. Besides your teams have the prevelege of training full time. What really is the problem at Arrakan Barracks? There is a lot of talent waiting to be tapped in the country side if only you got organized.
