Boxer Ben Muziyo on Friday picked up Zambia’s second medal at the Commonwealth Games.

The 21-year-old Middleweight boxer won a Bronze medal after he was outpointed by Englishman Anthony Fowler in a semifinal contest in Glasgow.

The methodical Fowler outboxed and also knocked down Muziyo who had earned reputation on his way to the last four as a hard hitter when he arrived into the medals bracket with two successive knockouts.

Both of Zambia’s medal have all come in the combat sports with the first won by Boas Munyonga in the 81Kg mens Judo category a week ago.

Today, Zambia’s 400X4 mens relay team takes to the track as Team Zambia chases its third medal hope from the eight discipline they entered in the Commonwealth games.

Zambia was represented in the Boxing, Badminton, Lawn Bowls, Track and Field , Swimming, Table Tennis, Judo and Squash.

The curtain comes down on the Glasgow Games this Sunday.

  1. Not too bad.A bronze is better than nothing. I also try to find time to represent Zambia at the chess Olympiad.
