Kampamba, Munthali released from Zambia camp

Share

Nkana duo Ronald Kampamba and Christopher Munthali have been released from Zambia’s training camp due to injury.

Kampamba and Munthali were dropped on Monday barely 24 hours after the home-based team kicked off its monthly three-day training camp in Lusaka.

“I think it is important to give them time to recuperate. It is pointless to take them through the paces that we are doing when they are still in pain,” Zambia team physician Dr Joseph Kabungo said.

Kampamba has a leg injury while Munthali is suffering from a groin problem.

Meanwhile the team was joined yesterday by the Zesco United trio of defender Nyambe Mulenga, midfielder Justin Zulu and striker Jackson Mwanza after they arrived back from Tanzania where they were invited for a friendly by Simba SC and that the Ndola club won 3-0 on Saturday.

The team wraps up its monthly get-together on Wednesday afternoon with a planned training match.
