Zambia coach Honour Janza has received some good news after TP Mazembe agreed to release their Chipolopolo stars for Sunday’s friendly against Sudan at the Heroes National Stadium in Lusaka.
The development means Zambia’s home-based team will now be fortified by the presence of the influential star midfielder Rainford Kalaba and three other foreign-based stars.
This will be Kalaba’s second game back in the Zambia fold this year since his controversial and messy absence from the Brazil friendly last October.
Kalaba’s last game for Zambia was on March 5, 2014 in a 2-1 friendly win over Uganda at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The midfielder is expected to travel with defender Kabaso Chongo and strikers Jonas Sakuwaha and Given Singuluma.
Singuluma and Sakuwaha return to the team for the first time since January, 2012 and June, 2013 respectively.
Zambia is using the match as buildup for its 2015 Africa Cup Group F qualifier against Mozambique at Levy Stadium on September 6.
Wanted to watch that “Sate Sate” and Jackson Mwansa.
It is good to have Kabaso Chongo, even though is not better than any of the local defenders.
