KCM not pleased with sponsored teams performance

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) says it is not satisfied with the performance its three FAZ Super League clubs Konkola Blades, Nchanga Rangers and Konkola Mine Police.

KCM spokesman Shapi Shachinda said the mining firm believes that the three teams can do better.

After 23 rounds of matches, Konkola are sixth on the league table with 32 points, while struggling Nchanga are tenth and relegation threatened Mine Police are second from the bottom on 20 points.

“Our teams have not performed as expected this year but we know that they have faced some challenges such as players movements at the start of the season,” Shachinda told Radio Icengelo.

“We are not comfortable with the positions they are occupying on the FAZ league log but its our desire that they will pull up before the season ends,” he said.

The three teams have been facing financial challenges this year.

“We have met all our financial obligations regarding the three teams,” Shachinda said.

  1. SHACHINDA, has told us the ‘TRUTH’ with such don’t expect these (3) three teams to per4mu WELL. 4 this how would love the Nation to remember when NKANA FOOTBALL CLUB went into ‘DIVISION ONE’ after ZCCM, we had no ‘UMUCHANGA’ for our believed & only team with HIGH, RESPECTED record in Zambian football.
“Why can KCM tell us that when making PROFIT on behaf of POOR ZAMBIAN, let them put ‘MORE UMUCHANGA’ there will per4mu to expectations?”
    Those teams luck PRAYER(MONEY) &
    FULL STOP!!!

  2. Imwe ba KCM and your fellow mining tax evaders Mopani just put in more money. We want Mighty in Champions League not in Div 1 North.

  3. So why have two teams to sponsor in Konkola. The two should have been merged into one. Konkola blades and Konkola mine police? Merge the two teams to one and cut down in administrative costs of running the two. Any savings must then go to pay players wages.
