The MMD in Northern Province has called on it members in the province to mourn the late Republican President Michael Sata with caution.
MMD Northern Province Information and Publicity Secretary Cephas Bwalya called on members to avoid using the death of the Republican President to push personal agendas by encouraging calls for former Republican President to came back to active politics.
Below is the full statement released by Mr. Bwalya.
We hereby urge our fellow members to mourn our dear President Micheal Sata with caution as the enemies of the party (MMD) may use this occasion to ambush our duly elected party President Dr. Nevers Mumba by misleading the former Republican President Rupiah Banda that he can hijack the Presidency of the MMD, a move which is meant to frustrate the efforts of those gallant youths who remained reorganizing the party after the former leaders lost power to PF in 2011 and went into hiding.
MMD North feels that Dr. Nevers Mumba has resurrected the party to its current heights and need to be supported by both leaders including Rupiah Banda and the new generation of youths in the country.
Instead forcing old and tired people to occupy strenuous public offices such as the presidency at the expense of the youths Northern Province rejects those wishing to bring frustrations to the party by calling on the leader like Rupiah to fight his own party and to be called names by his own people instead of being an adviser to his party.
Cephas Bwalya. IPS MMD North.
Oh boy – in some quarters the vultures are circling; in others the hyenas are jostling. It is going to be an interesting landscape…
Certainly a hired gun by other political parties. A genuine MMD member cannot say this
@cephas-If you never knew,Rupiah lost, because he deceived some MMD Seniors like Mutati.Mutati campaigned for himself as MP and Sata for President.Mutati and others felt deceived by Rupiah who said he will only complete the 3 yrs.and they supported him. They thought, they will have their chance to contest in 2011,but Rupiah did them Don’t Kubeba.
RB is the only way MMD can survive extinction. In any case, Nevers will continue being the president but the candidate will be RB. This has happened before in MMD unless you are a new member Mr. Bwalya
@Matthew-Bwalya is right. This Rupiah comeback Nosense calls are unfounded.Rupiah left MMD in a mess when he lost in 2011.MMD was at it’s lowest in popularity. He left some comprised MPs.debt were MMD was threaghtened to be deregistered. Now surely Rupiah, wants to hijack the MMD Presidency again. When he was VP,he was actually a UNIP Member.Pliz Ba Rupiah leave MMD alone now stabilize now.If you can not support the current MMD Leadership, then just rest peacefully in retirement.
Matthew, pliz, let’s move forward. Rupiah had his time.He bolongs to the last past 50 yrs Leadership. And now,it’s new leadership in the next 50 yrs Jubilee Season. The Bible says:Behold the old has past away, and the new has come.So if you want to be stuck with Rupiah, that’s your ndaba. As for me Rupiah is history.
This statement is written or sponsored by those who are spending sleepless nights on the thought of RB appearing on the ballot paper in January. A tired tactic for sure. Maybe try other methods because RB is for real this time around
This has Mmembe and Nchito written all over. RB round 2 will be the end of these guys once and for all. We need someone who will do a clean sweep of this family tree. Why are they so scared of RB?
Those useful i.d.i.o.t.s calling for Rupiah comeback nosence are not appreciative to what Dr Mumba and his genuine Leadership have done to resustate MMD to the present level.Rupiah who said,he will only finish the 3 yrs left by the late Mwanawasa deceived many(Used Don’t Kubeba Lies) and contested the 2011 elections and caused MMD to lose.
Bo Mubita eenisha, You are right,
I think these people think Rupiah is the answer to displace PF, but the thinking of a Zambian is very shallow mwe! How do you solve a problem with a problem? Why dot us the educated ones see beyond tribe and replace that problem with an everlasting interlligent answer by putting up a young smart fellow with a manifesto to swipe off shitupid village Zambians to usher in a modern leader to take us to highest position ever on the international map as well as the local bounderies? Instead all you only see through the local village which will never help devlope Zambians. Look at your Economy, fight to compete internationally not locally, the guy you will chose, how he will be seen outside Zambia is what will determine how much outside investment will chip in.
50 years of old people is over. We need a younger president whose healthy is unquestionable. Rb is not just old but very old. Next polls 60years and under is our president
Old Presidents are a safe pair of hands because you have nature’s guarantee that they will not overstay their period in office. Look at countries that had young dictators, DRC, Burkina faso, Cuba, Libya, Zimbabwe etc, these people stayed for decades. Always finish off your enermy otherwise they will come back and haunt you.
EEnisha,
Bembas lets protect our intrests ! After all those easteners are our servants, we cant be rulled we are the chosen ones we rull whereever we go, it is in our blood, i rule here, it is my Birth rite! Waisanga adjust, nonononono, some people are born Kings just like some tribes, it is a fact so we will not accept any less, it is only natural, all you other tribes accept to be followers it was foretold!
cephas and mumba you can joing pf as MMD in lsk we are for RB ask your mps.
THE APPOINTED TIME FOR ZAMBIA TO BE SAVED HAS FINALLY COME. IT’S IN THE AIR. ACTUALLY GOD REMOVED RUPIAH TO MAKE A QUICK ENTRY FOR NEVERS. JSUT SEE HOW MIRACULOUSLY HE ASCENDED TO THE MMD PRESIDENCY. IN THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE.
SORRY TO SAY THEI, EVEN THE LATE OPENLY SAID THE ONE HE FEARED THE MOST WAS NEVERS AND HIS BALD HEAD.
When I think about MMD all that comes to mind is how they looted Zambia and sold the mines for peanuts (that’s a no go area am afraid and that’s my personal view)!!!!! Infact any one who was involved in the privatisation era should sit this one out. That lives UPND and PF to fight this one out (PF will win, why? They are in power, and UPND are not liked in Zambia (privatisation comes to mind as again)).
You are so ignorant. The parastatals were already bankrupt years before MMD privatised them. Which was better between liquidating them or privatising them? PF are the worst thieves in Zambian history where even junior servants at Local government can steal K50m. UPND is viewed as a tribal party so they won’t win. They have annoyed Bembas already.
Correction (privatisation comes to mind again), lol am typing to fast.
From the PICTURES ABOVE, I WOULD ADVOCATE FOR HIS EXCELLENCEY KENNETH DAVID SHAMBALAKALE KAUNDA TO COME ON BOARD IN MMD OR PF TO LEAD US TO THE PROMISED LAND. He is the only person who cannot die in OFFICE, RB has A knee problem and the wife is battling for her unmatured pregnancy that has lasted almost 2yrs, it grew to full blown level but no delivering in Some South African HOSPTITAL FOR un
For how long is MMD going to continue praying for the resurrection of the political dead? RB got finished long time ago. Time you moved on.
No RB no MMD, we need him back!!! Orelse we wl go 4 HH.
Whoever takes the day should be respected on that day of election regardless the Political Party. But honestly in our Country we have not run short of credible persons to float. WE HAVE HH, NEVERS, CHIPIMO, EDITH why want to empty a buffer of elderly persons that in essence are supposed to be consultants, reservoir of wisdom. How do we parade these men and subject them to all trauma. When are we going to learn from our past mistakes, Lets have RB, KK, Gen Miyanda , Kavindele, and all good meaning statesmen to stand as advisors in time of need. am worried over stripping of our elderly people of their respects by subjecting them to our type of politics. Mwikala patalala mwine apatalalika, Koswe wapa tsindwi anaulula wap dzala. why not our elders just enjoy peace accorded to them.
I would like Mumba to contest the coming election not because I support, but rather for people to come to terms that he is not popular. Maybe then Will MMD decide to put a candidate that can win them the 2016 election
Kuti waseka nembafu shakalipa………….Suggestions are betrayal.Lesa alisala kale wukateka Zambia.Mulungu ana skhanka kuhdala tuvhutika tyela mumaghanizo yathu.God has already chosen the next President of Zambia.
I am calling upon all UPND supporters outside Zambia to make arrangements to support the party financially and adjust your leave plans so that you can be home in January to vote as a Zambian. We all want to participate in this election so ECZ should open the doors to all of us to register until two weeks before elections.
