Chipolopolo coach Honour Janza has welcomed the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations draw that saw Zambia paired with Tunisia, Cape Verde and DRnCongo in Group B.

Janza believes the draw was fair.

“The draw was fair. There are no easy games. For us, the most important thing is to be here and the next thing is to qualify out of
the group phase,” Janza told Cafonline.com.

Zambia will kick off their Group B campaign against DR Congo on January 18 in an 18h00 kickoff at Ebebiyin.

“African football has moved up and we saw it from the qualifiers. Only the best team will be able to come out of the group,” Janza said.

He revealed that Zambia was targeting to win the Africa Cup.

“For Zambia, we are happy to be here and we will fight to be among the top eight and subsequently take it from there. Ultimately, the main objective is to lift the trophy, we have done it before and if we are to get it again.”
The 2015 AFCON runs from 17 January to 8 February.

  1. Ba Coach, that is the spirit! I think it’s fair draw compared to group C and D. If we qualify from the group, we can win the Cup. I believe from the group we can play with the host and win then probably face-off with Cameroon and then play final with Algeria. We are in a good space.

  2. Lets bang it once again aim with a win on the opening game against DRC. Also there is nid to camp the team immediately goooo aaaaaalll Chipooooooloooopoloooooo!!!!!!!!

    • You guy, you think DR Congo is your porridge, then you think well.
Don’t count your chickens before they get hatched!!!
      Time will tell.

  3. Ba coach its time you begin to plan for friendly matches before its too late. Then we can be all happy going to Afcon prepared

  4. Coach and technical bench needs to be very sharp,am sure qualifiers tought us lessons. We have all it takes to make it. Let’s aim to piece the leopards of DRC and Tunisia, then tame Cape Verde which has become big headed. Go Chipolopolo! Go!

  5. For sure EVERY GAME COUNTS DONT UNDERATE ANY team in your Group.

I am seeing you and Tunisia going into the Next round.

  6. Exciting nail bitting moment! I am looking forward to these games than ever before! We have good players all we need is good technical leadership in the coaching staff. Now days the coaches need to be technical and apply excellent decision to change the game plan. I guess all the teams in our group has got a chance to through to next stage. Go Go Go Zambia!

  7. Zambia will march to next stage on 22nd January by defeating Tunisia. The same day unofficial results of Presidential bye-election will troop in for ultimate winner declared on 24th January. We will watch our last game of the group on 26th Janaury with our new President. RB, Edgar Lungu, HH, Edith Nawakwi, General Miyandawhosoever wins will be our President, for all of us, United Zambia, One Zambia.

  8. Badaala ba Janza,I beg you.DON’T UNDERATE ANY TEAM.This group is open.DRC are tough opponents.Tunisia are technically superior.Cape Verde are wounded buffalos.
People from that area are free minded and will not be influenced by such actions.
Ask Algeria for a friendly match.

  9. Let’s redo this thing … qualify fast on a clean slate not nail bites and penalties … some of us are now growing old. Save our hearts from BP!!!

    Iyeeeeee Chipolopolo

  10. Zambia needs to work on the defence. Bronson Chama needs to be recalled. He can be a good cover in times of injuries to some of our dependables like Sunzu, Mulenga, Nkausu, Mbola etc.Na chi Munthali chine, though I dont Trust him ku numa…

Zambia has all it takes to go all the way, we have a tight and meanest defence. We only conceded two goals in the six matches we played in during the qualifiers…
