Graven Chitalu leaves Mozambique club

Zambian striker Graven Chitalu has confirmed that he has left Mozambia’s Ferroviario Maputo half way into his two-year contract.

Chitalu joined Maputo from Power Dynamos in January 2014.

The ex-Roan United striker said he parted company with the Macambola side by mutual consent.

“Maputo and I agreed that I leave after they proposed that I sign a new contract which I declined. They wanted me to sign a downgraded contract because of some issues the club has concerning ownership,” Chitalu said.

The player is now training at his old club Konkola Blades in Chililabombwe.

“I am joining Konkola Blades as soon as I get clearance from Mozambique,” he said.

Chitalu scored seven goals in the 2013 FAZ Super League season for Power before moving to Mozambique.

  1. I would like to play in “Mozambia” as well.
In the event I move on, I could ply my trade in the more lucrative “Zambiabwean” league.
