Zambia face Namibia in 2016 CHAN qualifiers

Zambia have been drawn against Namibia in the first round of the 2016 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

The two sides will meet over two legs in June and July with the winner advancing to the final qualifying stage.

Namibia will host Zambia in the first leg on June 20 while the return leg is scheduled for July 4.

Winner will face victor of the Mozambique versus Seychelles first round tie in the final phase whom they will host in the first leg during the weekend of October 17.

The final leg will be played a week later during the dates of October 23-25.

Winner will qualify for the 2016 tournament to be hosted by Rwanda.

Zambia has failed to qualify for the last two editions of the CHAN since finishing third under Herve Renard at the inaugural tournament held in Cote d’Ivoire in 2009.

The CHAN is a national team tournament exclusively for players from domestic leagues of CAF’s member nations.

Libya are the defending champions.

  1. Namibia??? Zambia will loose. Namibia just got a good republican president, but Zambia still waiting for Sata. 1 year no president.
    Nambia.
Namibia has a young interesting coach., while Zambia don’t have a coach.

  2. Employ George “Chicken” Lwandamina and Fighton Simukonda as coaches. Spare Janza and let him coach Nkana.
