SPECIAL assistant to the President for project implementation and monitoring Lucky Mulusa says he is happy with the road works going on in Lusaka.

Mr Mulusa says he is impressed with the commitment exhibited by the contractors so far.

He has, however, challenged the contractors to ensure that they meet the deadline.
Mr Mulusa was speaking when he inspected road works on Burma and Chilimbulu roads in Lusaka.

Government has embarked on the construction and rehabilitation of roads in Lusaka and other parts of the country.

The roads programme in Lusaka falls under the L400 project, which is one of the ambitious plans Government is implementing to make the whole country accessible.

  1. What about my road from Kasama to Isoka to Muyombe to Chama? How is it going?

  2. Presido should not relax or relent on the road and rail programmes even if we have to borrow billions. This is the basis for economic growth and integration. I know misers will think otherwise

  3. @2. YAH! BECAUSE THEY ARE MISERS AND SO THEY WILL ALWAYS TALK RUBBISH. WHAT YOU HAVE SAID IS TRUE. I DON’T CARE ABOUT WHATEVER AMOUNT OF BORROWING IF IT IS FOR ROADS, RALWAYS, BUILDING HYDRO ELECTRICITY DAMS ACROSS RIVERS, SCHOOLS/COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES, HOSPITALS AND DEVELOPING FARMS AND TOURISM. ZAMBIA WILL START DEVELOPING AFTER MOST OF THE ROAD AND RAIL NET WORKS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED.

    • According to Mr Magande and his MMD programme these projects were supposed be done bit by bit and not on borrowing and mentioned 2030 but most countries depend on borrowing including the USA which is some trillion dollars in debt. Google USA debt financing if you don’t believe me.

  4. BUT, WHAT ABOUT IMAGES OF PART OF THE ROAD WORKS SO THAT WE SEE WHY HE WAS IMPRESSED, OR IF IT’S SOMETHING NOT TO BE IMPRESSED ABOUT?

  5. When the late MCS started creating new districts there was a lot of resistance because people did not understand the advantages which accrue to a district but now every chief wants his area to be declared a district and only non believers or die hards can deny that Choma is not benefiting from being declared a provincial capital.

  6. While the construction of new roads is commendable the maintenance of road markings has taken a back seat. Road markings are very important as far as road safety is concerned.

  7. These roads Burma and Chilimbulu are year after year being rehabilitated meaning contractors are always doing a poor job
