Zimbabwe make headway in potential date with Zambia

Zimbabwe made an important headway in their chase for a 2015 Cosafa Castle Cup quarterfinal date with Zambia after winning their opening Group A match Moruleng Stadium in Rustenberg.

Goals from Carlos Rusere in the 28th minute and Ronald Chitiyo in the 66th minute sent Zimbabwe to the top of Group A on day one of the Cosafa Castle Cup that South Africa is hosting from May 17-30.

Namibia and Seychelles are tied on one point after they finished scoreless in the earlier kickoff.

Victory for Zimbabwe on May 19 against Seychelles will see them through to a May 24 date with defending champions Zambia.

Zambia are on bye from the preliminary group stage.

  1. Chipolopolo should avoid a repeat of that embarrassing loss to Zim at Levi Mwanawasa stadium.

    • No no they are not moving the all Mwanawasa stadium to South Africa. It will be totally neutral ground.

  2. So, who did Zimbabwe beat? Yaba – I am I to guess that it was South Africa because the game was played in Rustenberg?
