Emmanuel Mayuka’s barren three year English Premiership stay is set to move with a reported move to Russia.
Mirror.co.uk reports that the 2012 Africa cup winning striker is set to move to Spartak Moscow.
“Southampton striker Emmanuel Mayuka is set to join Russian club Spartak Moscow after being stripped of his squad number,” The Mirror reports.
“Mayuka, 24, has played just 16 Premier League games, without scoring a single goal, since moving to St Mary’s from Swiss club Young Boys in a £3million deal in the summer of 2012.
“The Zambia international was left at home for Saints’ pre-season tour of Holland last week after being told he is not part of manager Ronald Koeman’s plans for the new season.
“Mayuka scored his only competitive goal for Southampton in a 5-1 Capital One Cup win at Barnsley in 2013.”
Mayuka will join his teammate and friend Chisamba Lungu in Russia who plays for FC Ural.
so these lads are finished as their boss kalusha,EPL to russia next stop could be india.
I was right, the this young CAT should’ve stayed at Young Boys. Premier Squealer my behind.
Finished indeed!
Three years at Southampton, sixteen appearances and I think almost all those appearances were from the bench; my question is why wait that long warming the bench instead of going to a club that will give one enough playing time? Then he is regarded as the marksman fro chipolopolo.
Zambian players have never made it in the EPL. Remember the Mbesuma Portsmouth saga? Spartak Moscow is a great team, mayuka just work hard there and never go to England again.
Ategwa “Stripped of his squad number”; that is a loud message to the player to leave – remaining numberless sure! I always thought his leagues were such as the Russian ones; and soon you may see him summersaulting again. Good luck young man, don’t be disappointed with such treatment; that is where you belong!
Mayuka is finished the boy and not good enough…he is 24 but when you see him play you think is 30…Russia is a very different environment to England or Europe…there is too much racism especially towards African players, boy just go home to Warriors.
Home going very soon, Russia sucks. Just ask the Zedian students.
Spartak Moscow is big enough for the ‘young boy’. Just pull up your socks lad and start netting a couple of goals, you will soon find yourself playing some Europa or even CL football.
Go Warriors go…
The Russian League is just as good as the French league. If he failed in France, how will he make it in Russia with that uncivilized weather and racism of the waste kind! I’m sorry to say this, but I don’t see him succeeding! This is his end!
Mulekeni aleya; after all, Chisamba Lungu is captain of his Russian team! Kabiye, mwandi mwaiche! Ama critics tabapwa! You may have more play time there.
