Chiyangi laments Nkana loss at Zesco

Coach Aggrey Chiyangi has regretted Nkana’s 5-3 loss at Zesco United describing it as painful.

Nkana led twice before succumbing to a defeat in this Week 20 match of the FAZ Super Division.

In a post-match interview at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Chiyangi attributed the loss to poor defending.

“It is very painful. When you score two goals it is better that you defend well. We didn’t defend well as a team,” he said.

“Losing to Zesco won’t affect the players in the next game.”

Zesco United coach George Lwandamina refused to concede that beating Nkana after a goalless first round match in Wusakile last April was a relief.

Back in April, Lwandamina had told reporters that Zesco were lucky to escape from Wusakile with a draw.

“What do you mean by redemption? We have been beating Nkana so you can’t use such words ( redemption). Maybe you can look for other words to suit the environment,” Lwandamina told journalists.

“We were training to beat Nkana that is why even the boys (players) didn’t panic they knew goals would come,” he said.

Zesco top the table with 46 points, four ahead of second placed Power Dynamos after 20 matches.

  1. Let me give the coach and technical committee of the Zambia national netball team a one ngwe advise. They did well to go to the World Cup championships and they played well in some gains. But they need to train the ladies to learn to score the with more than just one hand and also from a far too. Since netball is similar to basketball, they should train them to shoot from a far too. They should learn from other teams like Trinidad Tobago or New Zealand. They should review their plays and see how they waste the ball because they can’t score from a far. The ladies should also be told not to use too much ambi or the skin lightening creams. They look so artificial than all the other black players. I know we can’t stop these women from lightening their skins but use in moderation is ok than…

  2. . I know we can’t stop these women from lightening their skins but use in moderation is ok than the way these women are overusing it. Everyone can tell on TV that they’re using too much skin lightening creams. For improved playing and with Malawi and South Africa as good teams nearby, the players should be exposed to more friendly matches with these teams. Maybe, the team should also have a female assistant coach. They should seek sponsorship for some players like Jere, Bamda, Chingambo and Bwalya etc in British, New Zealand and Australian clubs. What do others who saw the matches think.

  3. Nkana should immediately re organise their defence more especially the number 3 were most the goals were scored. Furthermore There was no coordination between the number 4 and number 5 as they kept on running in different direction.

  4. Let me nt beat about the bush Chiyangi made a mistake 2 start with Kawaye Kapoto instead of Sinyangwe jst because the game ws at Superspot and the agent wanted him to be shown, since wn did Kawaye defended at Nkana instead of Sinyangwe?such shld nt b reapetd again or else mr Chiyangi u wl find yrself packing lets give credit where its due.i rest my case.
