Luis Rubiales Resigns as Spanish Soccer President Amidst Controversy Over Unwanted Kiss

10

Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Spanish soccer federation, has resigned amidst a wave of criticism over his unwanted kiss of Women’s World Cup winner Jennifer Hermoso. The incident occurred during a globally televised awards ceremony in August and sparked condemnation both in Spain and internationally.

Rubiales announced his resignation via social media, stating, “Today, I notified the interim president at 930 pm, Mr. Pedro Rocha, that I have resigned as President of RFEF (the Royal Spanish Football Federation). I have also let him know that I have also resigned my position in UEFA so that my Vice-presidency position can be filled.”

He continued, “To insist on waiting around and holding onto that won’t contribute anything positive, neither to the Federation nor to Spanish football. Among other things, because the powers that be will prevent my return.”

Pressure had been mounting on Rubiales to step down, with all 19 regional presidents of Spain’s soccer federation calling for his resignation following an emergency meeting. Hermoso and other soccer players, including all 23 members of Spain’s Women’s World Cup-winning squad, had refused to play for the national team again until there were changes in the federation’s leadership.

Rubiales’ resignation marks a significant moment in the controversy that had enveloped Spanish soccer. His departure will lead to an election to find his successor.

The unwanted kiss and Rubiales’ staunch defense of it had triggered a crisis in Spanish soccer, drawing criticism from politicians, sports stars, and sparking a conversation about the prevalence of “macho culture” in Spain. The controversy ultimately led to a reckoning for Spanish soccer, with widespread calls for change and greater respect for women in the sport.

In addition to these allocations, an extra 1.5 billion Kwacha has been disbursed for the Farmer Input Support Program (FISP) and the Food Reserve Agency (FRA). These programs are crucial for food security and supporting the agricultural sector.

Moreover, the Ministry of Finance has reported that an additional 1.5 billion Kwacha has been released to facilitate service delivery, ensuring that government programs and initiatives run efficiently and effectively.

In the past week, the Ministry of Finance held several development cooperation and investor relations meetings with local and foreign partners. These engagements demonstrate Zambia’s commitment to fostering partnerships and cooperation with the international community to drive its development agenda.

President Hichilema Embarks on State Visit to China to Strengthen Economic Ties

39

In a bid to further enhance economic diplomacy and deepen cooperation, President Hakainde Hichilema has embarked on a state visit to the People’s Republic of China. This visit comes at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.

Accompanied by the First Lady, Mutinta Hichilema, President Hichilema’s delegation has a comprehensive agenda, focusing on fostering collaboration between the Zambian government and the People’s Republic of China in various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, mining, and manufacturing, among others.

This state visit aims to facilitate interaction with key players in the Chinese economy and lay the foundation for cooperation and partnership in different areas. Of particular interest is the energy sector, where China is renowned for its technological advancements in the production of equipment for green energy sources like solar and wind power. The delegation seeks to explore opportunities in green energy and potentially transition towards electric vehicles, considering the global shift towards sustainability.

State House Chief Communications Specialist, Clayson Hamasaka, highlighted China’s significant role in the manufacturing of electric vehicles and emphasized the need for Zambia to accelerate infrastructure development, including charging points for electric vehicles, to support such innovations. Additionally, he underscored the potential for Zambia to leverage its mineral resources, which are vital components in electric batteries, to boost the local and regional markets.

Mr. Hamasaka also emphasized China’s expertise in agricultural mechanization, offering various levels of equipment suitable for different farming operations. Zambia, known for its agricultural potential, stands to benefit from adopting Chinese agricultural technologies and machinery.

Furthermore, the state visit provides an excellent opportunity to explore trade in various food commodities, with China’s substantial population making it an attractive market for Zambian products such as beef, soya beans, and wheat.

In his capacity as Zambia’s Chief Marketing Officer, President Hichilema aims to position Zambia as an attractive investment destination and explore avenues for economic growth and development through collaboration with the business community in China.

Zambia Extends Condolences to Morocco Following Deadly Earthquake

3

President Hakainde Hichilema has extended his condolences to H.M. King Mohammed VI and the people of Morocco in the wake of a devastating earthquake that has claimed the lives of over 2,000 individuals.

President Hichilema conveyed the collective sympathy of the Zambian nation to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people. He expressed deep sorrow for those who have lost their lives, homes, and livelihoods due to this natural disaster, and offered prayers for the souls of the departed.

Rescuers in Morocco faced daunting challenges in their search for survivors, compounded by a magnitude 3.9 aftershock. The earthquake, measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale, struck late on Friday, making it the deadliest earthquake in Morocco in over six decades. It has caused widespread devastation in mountainous regions near Marrakech.

Many individuals have been forced to spend a second night in the open, as relief efforts work tirelessly to reach the most severely affected villages in the High Atlas Mountains. These remote settlements have been particularly hard hit, with many houses reduced to rubble.

The catastrophe has disrupted transportation routes, with chunks of cliffs collapsing onto the roads, impeding access to affected areas. Residents in these regions have been anxiously searching for missing family members, and access to vital services like clean drinking water is a pressing concern.

In response to the crisis, humanitarian aid organizations are mobilizing to provide assistance. GlobalMedic, an Ontario-based organization, is sending teams from Canada to support local relief efforts. Their priority is to locate survivors trapped under debris and provide them with medical care. Additionally, they are working to ensure that survivors have access to clean drinking water, which is essential for preventing secondary health issues.

The organization is offering water purification systems to hospitals and households and providing drone systems to the Moroccan government to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation on the ground.

Is there a credible alternative to the UPND?

By Chimwemwe Mwanza

As hunger and poverty begin to take root in Zambian households, it’s easy to see despondency in the townships and some sub-urban areas. Throw in economic and social hardships to a tempestuous political environment, the crafty are resorting to telling their challenges on social media platforms effectively projecting a narrative of a failing state. It’s little wonder that scenes of women hoisting tu Pamela and shouts of Njala in the way of the Presidential motorcade, characterised the President’s recent visits to townships.

Amidst this uproar, visuals of Socialist Party leader Fred Mmembe emerging from a holding cell and punching a clenched fist towards his supporters that kept vigil at a police station have been doing the rounds. In Emmanuel Mwamba’s case, the lucid opposition politician went as far as circulating images of a sjambokked back – resulting from his resistance to heed to what he claims was an illegal arrest. As the saying goes, an image tells a thousand words.

Raphael Nakachinda, Munir Zulu, Edith Nawakwi, Sean Tembo and now Esther Lungu, the former first lady, among a horde of other politicians or associates of the opposition have also been in detention for varying offences – much to the illumination of social media. Mind you, these visuals are now imprinted in the minds of hungry masses, some of whom are still looking for a political messiah. Curiously, it’s worth noting the unity in the opposition – especially when their leaders are charged or summoned by police.

Chishimba Kambwili’s recent pronouncements best explains the motivation behind this unity. ‘This government should know that an arrest or injury to one opposition leader is an injury to all,’ he quipped. Fact is, never in the history of our politics has the opposition been this united against a sitting government – to the extent that some have had to put aside serious personal differences in support of their cause. For context, take a step back to pre – August 2021 elections, who could have predicted or foreseen this burgeoning bromance between Fred Mmembe and Chishimba Kambwili?
It was Kambwili – who in his position as Minister of Information and Broadcasting in the previous dispensation – initiated the process to close Mmembe’s Post Newspaper. By the time Kambwili was expelled from PF – a party to which he has since been readmitted, The Post was toast. What then should we make out of this newly found bromance? Well, there are no permanent enemies in politics. But is this comradery based on shared political and moral values, or could this be a ruse to assembling a coalition of the walking wounded whose raison d’etre is to dislodge the incumbent from power? You be the judge.

Is the opposition really under siege?

You see, Kambwili’s rallying cry for unity in the opposition is not only troubling but is deeply flawed in logic. At best, he infers that opposition leaders are irrational and incapable of discerning right from wrong. So, for him nangu ba mwikate bu pompwe, he expects the rest of the opposition to dash to Mikomfwa police station just to create a spectacle? Ayikona man, ala insoni munyinane, ebuntu. To some, circulating visuals of themselves in handcuffs is a mark of bravado. You see, it takes chutzpah to create such scenes but one could well argue that this is a character trait that some of our politicians have perfected over the years. Is this necessary?

We shouldn’t sink so low to becoming a nation that celebrates brazen acts of illegality. Agreed, there has been instances where the police have been unjust to the opposition – to the extent of responding recklessly to lousy click baiting and taunting by political actors. However, citizens ought to develop a heightened sence of alertness so they can easily separate facts from fiction.
As a matter of fact, this unity on display by the opposition has no grounding. It’s premised on politics of outrage which unfortunately makes for viral content. And those schooled in the art of deception will attest that that there is a thin line between perception and reality. Reality in this case being that the President through his own unfiltered pronouncements is in fact the one festering the narrative of ‘an opposition under siege.’ Unprovoked, he blew the lid on his imingalato (tricks up his sleeve). In his own words, he wants the PF asphyxiated to the last breath. That said, is it true then that the opposition is under siege?

Wynter Kabimba – the straight-talking leader of the Economic Front provides an interesting perspective. In a recent interview with Daily Revelation – which is an online publication, Kabimba cautions that not every opposition leader arrested to date is under persecution. ‘I take a different view. I personally think that every citizen of this country including opposition political party members must abide by the law in whatever they say, do or act.’ The inference in this assertion being that there is sufficient reason to believe that some opposition leaders are deliberately breaking laws for self-serving interests.

Is there a credible alternative to the UPND?

We have conditioned our body politic to investing heavily in Messianic politics – in the process creating a false and delusional impression that a single individual can solve Zambia’s challenges. Yet we forget that politicians are fallible humans who are prone to mistakes. We have also proven that creating cults of leadership only serves to entrench a culture of non-accountability – precisely why the Messianic approach or motivation to choosing leaders has spectacularly backfired on us.
But most worrying is the level of opportunism in the opposition. They seem readily prepared to do anything including, compromising their moral consciences just so they can ascend to plot 1. Without disregarding the impact on ordinary folks, the scarcity and rising cost of ubunga has strategically become the soft underbelly. It’s gravely despicable to use the anguish of masses to push self-serving interests. Beyond criticism, what solutions has the opposition provided to help ameliorate rising food prices?

You see, what our leaders won’t tell a struggling family in Kanyama, Kwa Nagoli or Wusakile is that the Russia and Ukraine conflict among a horde of other factors is disrupting food supplies across the globe. Not only are these countries large exporters of grain, but they rank among the biggest producers of phosphates and other elements used in production of fertilizer. Pricing of fertilizer impacts production of maize, and this has a knock-on effect on the price of ubunga.
In addition, it is fact that the souring cost of food prices is not only endemic to Zambia but the entire SADC region. It is also correct that the impact of Covid-19 still has a lingering effect on the global supply chain. In our case, our economy is heavily reliant on imports to keep our low manufacturing base humming, imagine then the contagion effect on the economy?

For once, can somebody take a high moral ground and articulate some of these challenges to the suffering masses. I doubt there would be any takers – doing so would be akin to helping loosen a chokehold on one of the UPND’s Achilles heel. In other words, let’s fold our arms so that hunger becomes the motivation that drives the electorate to the polls. And voila there will be a new Messiah in State House.
Makes you wonder. Other than advancing self-fulfilling ambitions, is there a credible alternative among opposition leaders to the incumbent? Go figure.

Message For Today: Joy in His Presence

0

Today’s Scripture

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalm 16:11, NIV

Joy in His Presence

Friend, it’s good to be passionate about our dreams, passionate about healing, freedom, and promotion. But don’t be so consumed that you’re not going to be happy while you’re waiting for God to make His path known to you. Don’t put your happiness on hold until everything works out. This day is a gift. Enjoy your life while God is working. Don’t be uptight, stressed out, and saying, “When is it going to change?” You have to pass the test of being happy where you are before God will get you to where you want to be. If you can only be happy when the problem turns around, when what you desire comes to pass, that’s going to delay what God is going to do. You have to put your foot down and say, “I am going to enjoy this day. This crisis, these challenges, or this bad break is not going to stop me. God, Your presence in my life is my joy. I trust Your timing, and I trust Your ways. In the meantime, I’m going to rejoice and live my life with gladness.”

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that this day is a gift from You, and I’m not going to live sour and defeated. Thank You that my happiness is not dependent on my situation, but upon Your presence in my life. I’ve made up my mind that I’m going to rejoice in You and be glad. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ibenga Girls Secondary School celebrates 60th Diamond Jubilee Aniversary

5

The Catholic Diocese of Ndola’s Bishop, Benjamin Phiri, delivered an insightful message during the Diamond Jubilee celebration of Ibenga Girls Secondary School in Mpongwe. Bishop Phiri underscored the profound role of formal education, emphasizing that it should empower individuals to provide meritorious service to one another, ultimately making them better citizens.

In his sermon during the Mass held to commemorate the school’s 60th anniversary, Bishop Phiri expressed his admiration for Ibenga Girls Secondary School for its significant impact on the lives of its former students.

“Now we celebrate what is termed the Diamond Jubilee, a moment of grace, a moment to thank God. We are looking back and thanking God for the many graces he has given us in this place of learning. We thank God for the achievements. Many people have been educated. Many women are great today because they have passed through this place, Ibenga Secondary School, to receive an education and are now able to contribute positively to the community,” preached Bishop Phiri.

He continued by emphasizing the transformative power of education in bringing individuals closer to God and enabling them to serve their fellow human beings meritoriously.

“Your learning must always help you to come closer to God. Education must help you to give meritorious service to your fellow human beings. It is in our fellow human beings that we see God,” Bishop Phiri proclaimed.

He drew inspiration from the Gospel reading of the day, where Jesus emphasized the importance of serving others. Bishop Phiri noted that education should lead individuals to follow Jesus’ example by proclaiming freedom to the imprisoned, bringing sight to the blind, and providing relief to the oppressed. He linked these principles to the concept of a Jubilee Year, a year of favor and grace.

Concluding his sermon, Bishop Phiri emphasized that if education does not guide individuals toward serving others and promoting the well-being of their communities, it loses its purpose and meaning, rendering it vain.

Ibenga Girls Secondary School, which has been an educational institution for 60 years, celebrated its Diamond Jubilee with a strong message of the transformative power of education and its role in shaping responsible and compassionate citizens.

Canadian Government Boosts Adolescent Health Project with $3 Million Increase

10

The Canadian Government has pledged an additional $3 million USD in funding for an adolescent health project known as ‘Her Future Her Choice,’ currently being implemented in various regions of Zambia. The announcement was made by Canadian Minister of International Development, Ahmed Hussen, during his visit to Liteta District Hospital in Chisamba District, Central Province, where the project is in progress.

The ‘Her Future Her Choice’ project, which commenced in 2019, has garnered commendation from international cooperating partners for its positive impact on target communities. Minister Hussen expressed his government’s awareness of the challenges faced by developing nations like Zambia in providing comprehensive adolescent health services. In response, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) has decided to increase its support for this vital initiative.

Yvonne Chibiya, Country Representative for Oxfam Zambia, expressed gratitude to the Canadian Government for collaborating with their organization to enhance adolescent health in Zambia. Chibiya highlighted the growing awareness among youths in beneficiary communities regarding their sexual rights, attributing this positive change to the project’s efforts.

“Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) are at the core of Oxfam’s mission. In areas where ‘Her Future Her Choice’ is implemented, the prevalence of HIV, early and unplanned pregnancies has significantly decreased,” Chibiya noted.

Chisamba District Health Director, Moono Shankanga, affirmed that the project has empowered adolescents with crucial information on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), enabling them to make informed decisions about their sexual health. Adolescents now have easier access to Sexual Reproductive Services (SRS) from healthcare facilities without facing stigma.

Dr. Shankanga reported an increase in the uptake of SRS at three health facilities: Malombe Rural Health Centre, Chikonkomene Rural Health Post, and Liteta District Hospital. These facilities now offer youth-friendly spaces where adolescents can comfortably seek SRS, including contraceptives and comprehensive abortion care.

Through Peer-to-Peer sensitization, adolescents have been encouraged to access SRS and have open discussions about their sexual health. Additionally, the health department has partnered with traditional leaders to promote positive social and cultural practices.

Martha Phiri, an Adolescent Peer Educator at Liteta District Hospital, shared her personal experience, stating that being part of the project has equipped her with knowledge about sexual health. She emphasized that being a Christian does not mean she should be ignorant about sexual matters and that she now feels better prepared to make informed decisions regarding her sexual health.

Government to Construct Modern Teacher Housing in Mulobezi District

2

Raphael Mabenga, the Member of Parliament for Mulobezi, has announced that the government is taking steps to construct modern houses for teachers in the district. This initiative aims to improve the living conditions of teachers working in rural areas and enhance education infrastructure through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

MP Mabenga emphasized that teachers should not have reservations about working in rural areas, as the government is committed to uplifting their quality of life. He pledged that schools in the district would be connected to power and water reticulation systems, providing essential utilities to support teaching and learning.

The announcement came during MP Mabenga’s inspection visit to Chibwe Primary School in Salumbwe Ward, where he examined a newly constructed teacher’s house and a block of three classrooms. The classroom block was built at a cost of 600,000 Kwacha, while the teacher’s house cost 410,000 Kwacha.

Acting Chibwe Primary School Deputy Head Teacher, Chuma Kangumu, expressed her excitement about the positive changes these infrastructure developments would bring. Pupils who were previously learning in grass-thatched classrooms will now have access to modern and conducive learning environments. Ms. Kangumu also pointed out that the improvements in infrastructure would likely lead to an enhancement in the quality of education provided at the school.

United States and European Union Back Lobito Corridor for Trade Advancement

13

The United States and the European Union have officially expressed their support for the Lobito Corridor, a significant trade initiative spearheaded by Zambia, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In a joint statement issued during the ongoing G20 Summit in India, both the USA and the EU applauded the recent commitment made by these African nations to advance the project.

This partnership declaration, available on the White House website, underscores the collaborative efforts of the European Union and the United States to contribute to the development of the Lobito Corridor. One of the key initiatives mentioned is the launch of feasibility studies for a new Greenfield rail line expansion between Zambia and Angola.

The USA and the EU have joined forces with the three African countries involved in the Lobito Corridor project, leveraging financial resources and technical expertise to expedite its development. The collaborative effort also encompasses investments in digital access and agricultural value chains, which are expected to enhance regional competitiveness.

The primary objective of the Zambia-Lobito railway line is to reduce transport times, lower logistics costs, and reduce the carbon footprint associated with the export of metals, agricultural commodities, and other products. This initiative is poised to streamline trade routes and bolster economic connectivity between Zambia, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Lobito Corridor project is seen as a critical catalyst for economic growth and trade facilitation in the region, and the backing of the United States and the European Union is expected to further accelerate its progress.

President Hichilema Announces Credit Window to Boost Agriculture

7

President Hakainde Hichilema has unveiled a significant initiative aimed at bolstering food security and reducing mealie meal prices in Zambia. In his address during the official opening of the third session of the 13th National Assembly in Lusaka, President Hichilema announced that the government would establish a credit window for the public sector to enhance the production of maize and other crops.

This credit window will offer public sector participants access to funding at concessional rates, facilitating their engagement in agriculture and contributing to the nation’s agricultural output. President Hichilema emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting the planting of crops twice a year, a move intended to increase crop yields and drive down the price of essential food items.

In his address, President Hichilema also touched upon another pressing national issue—the ownership and future plans for Mopani Copper Mines. He assured the nation that talks regarding the mining company’s fate have advanced significantly and that an announcement is imminent. The President underscored his administration’s determination to revitalize the mining sector, a key contributor to the national treasury.

Furthermore, President Hichilema revealed plans to conduct a national geological mapping exercise to assess Zambia’s mineral resources comprehensively and devise strategies for their sustainable exploitation.

In the realm of governance and decentralization, the President provided an update on the devolution of power from the Central Government. He stated that 34,000 civil servants have been attached to local authorities, facilitating the transfer of responsibilities to local levels of government. Local authorities have already begun executing some of the functions delegated by the Central Government, marking a significant step towards the effective implementation of the decentralization policy.

Shadrick Kasanda denied bail

10

Shadrick Kasanda, one of the key suspects involved in the airport gold scam, has been denied bail in another case where he faces charges related to the disposal of property believed to be proceeds of a crime. The decision to deny bail was handed down by the Lusaka High Court on the grounds that his release from detention could potentially prejudice the ongoing case.

In addition to the denial of bail based on the risk of prejudicing the case, the court also cited Mr. Kasanda’s involvement in an espionage case where the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) issued a Certificate of Denial of Bail.

The verdict to deny bail was delivered by a panel of three High Court Judges: Pixxie Yangailo, Ian Mabbolobbolo, and Vincent Siloka.

Mr. Kasanda had sought bail through his legal representatives, arguing that he was entitled to it because the charges against him in the proceeds of crime case were bailable. However, the state countered this argument by asserting that his bail application for the proceeds of crime matter was invalidated by the Certificate of Denial of Bail issued in connection with his espionage case.

This development adds to the legal complications surrounding Mr. Kasanda, who has been embroiled in high-profile cases related to alleged criminal activities, including the notorious airport gold scam. The denial of bail underscores the seriousness of the charges he faces and the concerns of the judiciary regarding the potential impact of his release on the ongoing legal proceedings.

Justice Minister Addresses Compensation for UPND Members Arrested in 2017

39

Justice Minister Mulambo Haimbe has dismissed any insinuations of impropriety concerning the compensation awarded to five members of the United Party for National Development (UPND) who were arrested and prosecuted on charges of treason in 2017.

Minister Haimbe asserted that there is nothing sinister about the compensation provided to the individuals in question, emphasizing that their case was unique and warranted special consideration due to the gravity of the charges and the unusual circumstances surrounding it.

Speaking during a press briefing held in Livingstone, Minister Haimbe addressed concerns raised in the media regarding the compensation. He emphasized that the government’s actions are entirely consistent with the legal provisions of the country.

“The compensation of individuals who have been wrongfully detained and unlawfully prosecuted, even when it may appear to be substantial, is a necessary measure to discourage similar miscarriages of justice in the future,” stated Minister Haimbe.

The Justice Minister’s remarks come amid public discussions and media coverage of the compensation awarded to the five UPND members. The case had drawn attention due to the seriousness of the charges against them and the subsequent legal processes.

Compensating individuals who have been falsely imprisoned and subjected to unjust prosecution is a means of rectifying past injustices and upholding the principles of justice and fairness within the legal system.

CDF is transforming the country – Nkombo

10

The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Garry Nkombo, has emphasized the positive impact of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) on communities across the country. Minister Nkombo made these remarks during a visit to Chilanga District, where he presided over the handover of eight community projects and disbursed CDF loans and grants for 2022 and 2023.

The handover ceremony took place at Tubalange Mini-Hospital in Kasupe ward and witnessed the transfer of key community projects aimed at enhancing the living standards of local residents.

Mr.Nkombo highlighted the significance of these developments, stating that they align with the government’s commitment to improving access to essential services such as healthcare, education, water, and sanitation.

“Government’s policy and directive is to improve access by the people to basic services such as health, education, water and sanitation, and such a development is first of its kind in the country,” he explained.

The community projects handed over included a mothers’ shelter at Tubalange Mini-Hospital, two ablution blocks at Musamba Primary and Lusaka West Day Schools, a water scheme at Lusaka West Day School, a health post at Kacheta Primary School, two water boreholes in Namalombwe, a classroom block at ZNS Sopelo, and a staff house at Maano Primary School.

Additionally, Mr. Nkombo disbursed loans totaling over three million kwacha to 17 cooperatives, enterprises, and companies, along with grants amounting to K2.1 million to 55 women and youth clubs from the 2023 CDF.

Champion Tembo, Chairperson of Chilanga Town Council, underscored that the selection of these projects and the allocation of loans and grants were carried out based on the priorities identified by local communities.

“The New Dawn Government of President Hakainde Hichilema believes in local solutions, and the empowerment of loans and grants is a significant milestone in the government’s promise of offering financial support and empowering the grassroots to venture into small and medium enterprises,” Mr. Tembo affirmed.

Chilanga Member of Parliament, Sipho Hlazo, encouraged loan beneficiaries to work diligently to repay the funds, enabling more individuals to benefit from the program. He also urged youths, women, and men to form groups, register companies, and cooperatives to maximize the potential of CDF loans.

Joy Lubinda, representing other beneficiaries, expressed their commitment to utilizing the funds for their intended purposes and contributing to the progress and development of their communities.
