Ministers’ Spouses Club gives medical equipment to Chongwe

Share

The Ministers’ Spouses Club (MSC) yesterday officially handed over medical equipment on behalf of government to three health centres worth more than K300million in Chongwe district.

And the association has also donated mattresses, blankents, bed sheets and worth about K18million to Chinyunyu and Kankumba Health Centres.

Officially handing over the medical equipment on behalf of government, yersterday, second lady Ireen Kunda called on the Private Sector and other stakeholders to supplement governments’ efforts by assisting the less privileged in the community.

Mrs. Kunda said this is because government alone cannot manage to help all the less privileged hence the need for more concerted efforts from the stakeholders.

The Vice Presidents’ wife said the global financial crisis has immensely affected governments’ ability to deliver effectively to the less privileged in the community.

And Chinyunyu Health Centre (CHC) Clinical Officer-in-Charge Mpheza Banda thanked government and the Ministers Spouses Club for the gesture.

Ms. Banda said the medical equipment handed over and the mattresses, blankets and bed sheets will go a long way. She however also called on the Ministers Spouses Club to continue with the good work of assisting the community.

  1. Nonsense why cant the government send these things directly/?This is the same rubbish kafupi was doing, ‘donating’ government money to the goverment. How stupid.

  2. The Vice Presidents’ wife said the global financial crisis has immensely affected governments’ ability to deliver effectively to the less privileged in the community.
A bad carpenter always blames his tools. Exactly how much has Zambia lost in this global financial crisis?

  3. “behalf of government “…”Officially handing over the medical equipment on behalf of government”…”Mrs. Kunda said this is because government alone cannot manage to help all the less privileged hence the need for more concerted efforts from the stakeholders”

  4. Bushe ba fin your bafumwa kwisa ichipompo ichi ? Just fund projects directly and not through some alangizi groups !

  5. Number 5 the language please, just comment we don’t need insults i think we are beyond that. Moderator can you filter through some of these comments with bad language.

Anyway, we appreciate the donations but i think the title of the group as ministers wife fimo fimo is not appropriate, its a little bit elite…find a name that reasonates with the cause. It seems you have no ideas we can help you find a name that reaswonates with what you stand for, right now yo uare standing as Minister’s wives which is irrelevant really

  6. These girls should have gone through the Maureen Mwanawasa org to distribute those items since it is under the similar arrangement to help the under preveiladged and hope this will help our RB not to go out of Zed for medication since this sounds to be modern medics?

  7. Donate as much as you can, but “ichimwela” is coming. Mwafwa. The question is why Chongwe, is aBig Nose getting rid of Silvia Masebo?

  8. You stu.pid ZANIS reporters, there is no malabishi as Second Lady.

  9. what flippin ridiculous grouping is this – minister’s spouses clubs!? how elitist zambians have become in such a short lived ‘democracy’. we started with first lady, then came the hope foundation and mm community initiative. thandiwe banda chose not to carry on this nonsense legacies that only lasted for the duration of the president’s term and then the ‘second lady’ and her least amongst unequals form such a silly club. why don’t these women work for existing charities if they want to make meaningful contributions. ata se! ama zambians mwa chilamo ukulibonesha.

  10. WTF did they get 300 Million Kwacha?to donate equipment, why don’t they ask their husbands to fix the Hospital system in the country?they think their paltry guilt will make them look good…and Zambians think things are OK…Wake the F*&k up Zambia

  11. Its government duty and obligation to fund and equip the government medical institutions in Zambia through the Ministry of Health.
We are now left to wonder how the Ministers’ Spouses Club (MSC) can take over the role of the ministry in handing over medical equipment on behalf of government.
This group has to raise its own resources to contribute to health institutions so that we do not accuse them of being a political campaign group for their spouses.
