Expelled former MMD chairman for elections Mike Mulongoti

Expelled former MMD chairman for elections Mike Mulongoti has charged that the ruling party made a mistake in welcoming members from other political parties without scrutinizing them.

Mr. Mulongoti’s statement will be seen as a direct reference to Republican president Rupiah Banda, who is a former member of the former ruling party UNIP.

He said that  some members of the MMD who joined from other political parties have brought dictatorial tendencies in the ruling MMD.

The former works and supply Minister said that  members from other parties in the ruling MMD still carry dictatorial arrangement, instead of democracy.

He said that  it is a pity that such members are not questioned on their loyalty to the ideals of the MMD.

He says as can be seen in the MMD, democracy has sunk, were leaders are chosen to appoint other than being subjected to democratic elections.

Mr. Mulongoti adds that he feels deeply hurt on the happenings in the MMD, stressing that the vision of the party has been made blur.

And Mr. Mulongoti has stated that he will soon announce the political party he will support ahead of the elections.

Mr. Mulongoti says has been engaged in discussions with certain political parties, who he has described as having excellent manifestos.

He adds that he will not judge individuals but what they can do for the Zambia, in furthering development in the country.

Mr. Mulongoti was speaking on a live programme on UNZA radio this morning monitored by QFM.

  1. Too late! We all know that you are a lonely man now. Even the opposition don´t want to work with you. You thought you were forever. Sorry.

  2. Good that you have learnt the harder way. Founders of MMD are all thrown out of the Party including veterans like, Kavindele, Miyanda to mention a few. You have been sorted out??? Wait until they grub your house / Business if you have any.

UNIP is back in Blue MMD colors. Convention what happened? All sleepy old fox blocked. YES Remember the OLD UNIP days.

SATA please scrutinize some of the people joining PF, they may bring the MMD/ UNIP confusion. 2011 VOTE FOR SATA!!!!!!

  3. If you join a party and are expelled, don’t suddenly start making exaggerated utterances against people with whom you dined and slept.
Very opportunistic individuals we are seeing here. Pure slime.
Once again we see the trends of Africans as we know them. Backward, primitive people. Politics and democracy are concepts way too advanced for the lazy inhabitants of this uncivilized continent. Trees, bananas and raw meat should be the limit on your access to the fruits of life. Especially Zambians. Now how about that?

  4. A fews thing for Mulongoti to digest. 1. Who told you that the founders of MMD should always remain in MMD? 2. Why do you think that people who don’t agree with you are not democratic? Are you the definition of democracy? 3. Why do seem to still want to come back the UNdemocrats?

Its not a written rule that when you do someone a favor in politics they should do you a favor in return. That was utter stupidity on your part. RB will chose which people he feels he will work with. Any leader who aspires to presidency has this privilege. Ask Obama. At the end of his work RB will be judged on what he did and not who helped him do it so its up to him to choose those he feels he can work with and apparently you were not one of them so deal with it.

  5. Operation: Owl you are so wrong in your assessment of Mulongoti. From what I have heard from the grapevine, the opposition are fighting for this strategist to join them and you will soon know which party he is joining, just exercise a little bit of patience. The man is far from being lonely actually if one is to judge by the number of visits and phone calls I am told he has been receiving. But this is all from the grapevine, let us all just wait as events unfold in the coming few weeks.

  6. This Twit was never scrutinized when he joined MMD from FDD.Why the regret now that you have been expelled? In other words,he is saying MMD made a mistake in welcoming him.

  7. Oh pliz, all that time thats when you have realised. You and late Teta where Banda’s pitbulls barking at anybody who comes close to your master. Now that the bone has been grabed from your grip you want to start making noise.

  8. What can Mulongoti do? Has he forgotten when he was campaigninng for RB? They castigated Magande when he came out openly vying for presidency. He is NOW WALKING ALONE. SHAME my dear. Don’t cry for foul. You knew from the beginning. WAKE UP and START MOVING.

  9. Mulongoti has no constituency! MMD discarded him because they know that there was no value he was going to add in the fouth coming elections. Whichever opposition party receives him should know that they are receiving exess baggade!

He was the one a few weeks ago who was insulting opposition parties and who introduced undemocratic tendancies. Look at what he did and said about Magande? Just been given a test of his own medicine!

  10. Come and join the mighty UPND if you go to PF, you will still find the same animal called dictatorship. We very democratic as UPND, Viva HHHHHHHHHH

  11. VJ Rigger you need a little lesson in history about Mulongoti’s political career. For you own information Mulongoti was present at the famous Garden House meeting that formed the MMD ( you can confirm this from the little booklet about the Garden House meeting written by Akashambatwa Mbikusita Lewanika, names of all who were present are there and Mulongoti’s name is there). Therefore it is a fact that Mulongoti has been a member of MMD from inception in 1990 and only left MMD in 2001 because he was one of the 21 MPs expelled by Chiluba for opposing the Third Term bid. At that time he was MP for Lufwanyama Constituency which seat he won in a by-election in 1996 contested by George Mpombo on UNIP ticket ( all this information is there if you cared to research in any library in Zambia).

  12. #4 identify your Nationality so that we can direct the right kind of scuds to your bunker ’cause I am getting ticked off by some of your remarks above.

  13. During the days of UNIP ‘everyone’ was UNIP including Mulongoti, Sata, Hichilema ect. So there is no question of ‘dictators’. In any case when did Mulongoti realize that he welcomed dictictaors into MMD? When he got fired? Hypocrite!

  14. Mulongoti, the problem with you is that you never learn. Do you honestly think Sata is a better dictator than RB? They are both the same if anything Sata is worse than RB. As you make your decision remember that the people of Zambia will never forgive you if you help another 75 years old dictator to rule till 2021. If you are a progressive Zambian with the interest of the nation at heart the best person to support is HH. Big bro. think hard before you make a decision.

  15. “Expelled former MMD chairman for elections Mike Mulongoti has charged that the ruling party made a mistake in welcoming members from other political parties without scrutinizing them.”
“He says as can be seen in the MMD, democracy has sunk, were leaders are chosen to appoint other than being subjected to democratic elections.”
Mr Mulongoti, aren’t you contradicting yourself?

  16. I totally agree with you No. 16 Destroyer, I think this chap is an MMD cadre planted to cause confusion among sensible bloggers. Why cant the chap just debate in a civilized manner. I am also disgusted.

  17. Aren’t political parties registered on the LUSE? Their manifestos look like very good business plans and long term strategies that should increase their market price. New investors can buy shares and old investors who want capital gains can like wise sell theirs. They are still free to buy shares from other political parties that look to be more profitable than the ones they have just left. And life goes on until we answer to God’s eternal call. What the heck is Mulongoti complaining about?

  18. I couldnt even read the whole article its a shame these guys always want to have something to say if they are not the darlings of the party

  19. Draw lessons from Mulongoti the twit who welcome and campaigned for the dictator.
    Rupiah the Monster si vintu.
VOTE SATA AND PF IF YOU WANT CHANGE.
BEWARE OF TRIBAL CLUBS WHICH JUST SPLIT THE VOTES.
    PABWATO.

  20. No. 17 Abena George, our country will never grow democratically if anyone who dares to challenge the powers that be is silenced. From your debate it would appear you will be very happy if Mulongoti decided to keep quiet and never participate in politics. I f everyone including Sata, HH, Panji, Mpombo, Shakas, Nawakwi, Gen Miyanda, Dr. Chongwe etc was to shut up and just watch RB rule, will that be ok for our democracy? We would end up like Libya where the opposition voice has been muzzled for over 30 years and the result is the explosion of unrest we are witnessing in Benghazi. So my dear fellow blogger let us not encourage a one party mentality, let every citizen who wants to participate in politics do so freely without being condemned or pulled down.

  21. MMD manifesto an academic exercise’
The National Revolution Party (NRP) has charged that the new Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) party manifesto is a mere academic exercise.
NRP president Cosmo Mumba says the ruling party has failed to live up to the expectations of Zambians during its 20 years in power.

  22. Dr Mumba adds that it is surprising that the MMD trying to woo voters ahead of this year’s tripartite elections by stating that they will create more jobs and recapitalize Maamba Collieries forgetting that they have already sold the coal mine to Nava Barat of Singapore.
He says Zambians have suffered enough at the hands of the MMD government and that time has come to usher in office leaders with a vision to serve the interests of the people.

  23. Dr Mumba further wonders what jobs the MMD government will create when they have cntributed to the high unemployment levels in the country by privatizing a number of parastatal companies.
He has since called on Zambians not to take the new MMD manifesto seriously as most of the benchmarks set are untenable.
And Dr Mumba has called on the Patriotic Front to work with his party in the forthcoming elections adding that the two parties are the only parties that can offer alternative leadership in the country.

  24. Ba Mulongoti sounds more and more like a persistent buzzing mosquito to the ear added to the fact that he already has a mosquito stature. Please Mr. Mosquito, close that sting of a mouth of yours eish.

  25. CHINO CHAKA NI PABWATO, WAMENE CHABABA AZIKULIKE….WE ARE WINNING THIS YEAR TILI MU BOAT. DONCHI KUBEBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. Is this the same Mulongoti who stood by RB? the same who told Mpombo that “you ll need me when you are in prison”, the same one who attacked Magande, Sata and Hichilema? Mmmmm how time flies.

  27. It seems there is a plot to tag every non Bemba lead political parties tribal. If we are to be objective, PF is more tribal than any other party. Your tribal attacks have made my election choice easier as I now know who not to VOTE FOR- a BEMBA be it at parliamentary, local government or presido.

  28. Ndate Sicaba, there is a difference betweeen complainig and regreting. Mulongoti was quoted by QFM as having said that he regrets. People should be encouraged to swallow their pride and state when they regret and I think Mulongoti is being honest by swallowing his pride and expressing regret. I am sure Magande and others who were bruised by Mulongoti’s blind support for RB will appreciate such a realisation on his part.

  29. 24 PF is a tribal party just look at its top brass other than one or two masked positions the rest are Northerners or Luapula. Before you point fingers look inward. What is it that the 74 year old Sata will give us that he failed to give in all his life as a leader in UNIP and MMD. PF manifesto is like a school boy manual of how to fail as government. Real change is about being objective and not following blindly. If you strongly feel Sata is good for his word challenge him more on issues so we all know the intended path he wants to lead Zambia to. Being Zambian however I may not agree with you I will wish you and your party all the best. I remain in favour of Real Change

  30. The way u see MMD the some PF is no different baba those magogo ther ar the some all the way from UNIP they still have that mentarity of voting against the flog baba useless madalas with some behaviour nonses.

  31. MMD do not be happy about Mulogoti leaving the party yet. This man is a king maker, he made RB and he can bring him down. If you want to know how a hippo lives in the water you better ask the crocodile. Mulongoti knows alot about RB and the MMD and he can bring the down. I hope he joins UPND to fight them thieves.

  32. Bitterness || Regrets || Lamenting || Animosity || are among the biggest obstruction of humankind. They only thing they do are to take you back to yesterday to make you feel sorry for yourself – become downbeat and angry.

Mike Mulongoti – Let the Dead bury the Dead. You are not entitled to MMD, so is MMD is not entitled to you.

Its time for you to move. It was only yester- months & years that you were all fired up calling your friends names. You are typical bully that cannot stand the heat.

  33. Its never too late Micheal we all make mistakes just join PF the party with direction if you really want reberate us.

  34. Mulongoti kwena chisushi. He is a worthess man now. He should just stop talking or else they will take away the little he stole.
    Next is Red Lips.

  35. Lelo ni lelo!
It is nomal that some people are done away with like you sir just like you said that some people should go to prison while others should remain. the beauty of democracy is that you are able to speak even now.

  36. Way to go mulongoti you have shown contrition you are welcome to PF just go the secretariate and see the Secretary general we saw how we can move on and please tell the rest that a vote for HH is a vote for RB.

  37. #4 you are a disgrace to your own existence curse the day you came on earth….sham to your mother…probably you are an accident child…. bustard CHIMBWI

  38. # 16, I thought I was the only one who got irked by the bubble head at # 4. Gossip Monger, I wonder what nationality you are! You sound like some OLD BOER RACIST A.RSE! How about that, You SH.IT head!
Mike Mulongoti, you have eaten your own words, it is good that you have realised the folly of your greedy. Your Movement for Mad Dogs full of greedy blocked your ambitions and expelled you and this opened your eyes! Well, good, now this tripartite elections, try not to look for your own position and vote with the majority poor peasants and mistreated employees in Zambia. This is the year for us the unemployed and abused youth of Zambia! VIVA MCS, VIVA PF!

  39. ha ha ha. You, remember how you persecuted everyone when you were in MMD. You even denied us a better president in the name of ngandu magande. in fact, you should be tried in the courts of law for the abuse at your former ministry. Mlongoti, you never respected anyone, mwaleyumfwa kwena ta ta. tepa pa. Elephant crashed you. Learn your lesson and go to the village to till the land or catch fish. we dont want your foolish comments in the media. and next, you will disappear you you get very funny. You know it!

  40. #2 Sheikh, read your history again. Since you can’t read longish literature like history and law, I will summarise for you. The Miyandas of this world, and many other founder members of MMD that you are talking about, were hounded out of MMD by none other than your Mr Sata when he supported Chiluba’s third term bid for reasons that we all know now (which is that Mr Sata himself wanted to be the sole successor to Chiluba). That behaviour by Mr Sata nearly decimated the MMD. However the party survived because it is able to adapt and to embrace change. Levy (MHSRIEP) recruited and accepted new members. The MMD now is solid as rock because of this ability to adapt. So what can you tell us about Mr Sata?

  41. “He adds that he will not judge individuals but what they can do for the Zambia, in furthering development in the country”. Why don’t you say that you will announce your joining PF once you have extracted a guarantee of a position in PF? Do you think that we are all simpletons?

#8, Mulongoti is a strategist? My foot, what I know is that he nearly cost RB and MMD the Presidency in the 2008 elections. They had to reduce his functions at the last minute otherwise even the magic 35,000 votes would have disappeared! Anyway, good luck to the party that will adopt him, I hope it will be PF.

  42. Please RB, call the elections tomorrow. Let people lose big time, then perhaps we can sleep a bit of utulo, too many noise makers.

  43. At the rate he is going uncle Mike will be visited by the cops or DEC in the near future he should ask Hon. Mpombo who was at kabwata police yesterday, of all the auditor’s reports we have read action can ony be directed at him. I wonder were we are going?

  44. HH Sata, kekeke, you have just admited that you dont sleep!!! Iyee winangu azafa na BP, never take politics personal man. Be like his honour Lupando mwape niziiiii chabe. Hahahahaha!!!!

  45. If Mr Mulongoti was still in MMD, he can never utter such lamentations. The moment he is ‘discharged’ from the limelight, he pours scorn on the very party he contributed to make undemocratic. This is being double-faced and hypocrisy at its best. The problem is that politicians see politics as the an ends to the means. He had his time yelling good things bout RB and now that he is no longer in the corridors of power, he wants to be seen to champion democracy. I think we need a new generation of leaders because most of these leaders who still want to rule this country were there, have been there, what else do they want, absolute power? I am very surprised that in this new age, we are insulting and calling each other names over past expiry date old politicians. When is out time going to be?

  46. And correction, i meant “politicians see politics as an ends to the means”, and last line is supposed to read, “When is our time going to be?”

  47. Done click! next chapter. We cannnot affort going back in our own vomit like Mulongoti. if this guy really understood democracy he should have been the first one to allow divergence views #1, #2 allowed demcracy to thrive. This stupid mulongoti was swallowed with akalilo and would think of anything but bootlicking. i wish i could let this guy cry cry and let him listern to his conscious one more time. too late man!

  48. # 38 Chindele, that name reminds me of my friend called by the same name when i was at Sefula secondary school.

  49. Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata Thursday failed to climb the stairs of Lotti House where he was scheduled to feature on 5fm Radio.
Sata who went to the building discovered that the elevators were down and the only alternative was to climb the stairs to the ninth floor where the radio station is located.Sata, who was born in 1937 attempted to go as far as the third floor before going back saying he could not. He told the radio station management and his escort team that he  has a medical history that does not allow him to undertake such strenuous activities.
The radio station was forced to cancel the programme despite the heavy advertisement that preceded it.

  50. Black man’s child, in terms of dictatorship, sata nd pf are better off coz sata is only leading a part he founded. Anda 5(hh) came and chased the real owners of the up nd down part…sak, chisanga, kahenya etc. They, helped found the up nd down part.they worked professionally with that great son of zambia.. Anderson kambela mazoka(MHSIP). He (hh) came from nowhere and acts as if he owns the part.

  51. #64 Div nafuti, the noise Sir, the noise made by PF cadres, how can anyone sleep with this kind of noise? And if I was afraid of PF winning would I call on RB to call elections today as if I don’t think? Think Mr Div nafuti, think hard, the world is not for people who are too lazy to think for themselves.

  52. DONCHI KUBEBA UNO MWAKA NI PA BWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  53. This man has a problem for sure. We told him to allow democracy to previal but he did not listen, he told the nation it was only Banda or the highway. Good he is now being given his on meds. I hope the meds kills his political career forever, as this nation does not need leaders of low calibre like him

  54. the problem with our politicians is that they only realize that, Zambia needs development when they start paying tax like any other ordinary individual. Sata had the best opportunity to change things at health, but no single toilet was constructed and as people we’re there vote PF. mulongoti, mpombo, magande nawakwi, luo have no moral right to condemn RB as they were given opportunity but lost it. best politicians zambia has had late samuel miyanda, vincent malambo gen miyanda( always talk sense) the rest are just i.d.i.o.t.s

  55. the problem with our politicians is that they only realize that, Zambia needs development when they start paying tax like any other ordinary individual. Sata had the best opportunity to change things at health, but no single toilet was constructed and as people we’re there vote PF. mulongoti, mpombo, magande nawakwi, luo have no moral right to condemn RB.

  56. This guy had misjudged his friendship with Banda and in the end got a shock of his life I hope he has learnt something out of this and will have a story to tell his gran kids how he was fired!

  57. I wish this man not to be covered at all by the media, how on earth did he and the late Tetamashimba support Rupia Banda and yet we had people like Magande and others. Most recently when he was in GRZ, whenever he opened his mouth more were hurt.

Continue suffering like your friend Mpombo, because if you were preferred to George Kunda you wouldn’t utter anything like that, today RB would have been your god.

Advice; Mulongoti should always put people first, those who do they never get bitter or regret because their concious tells them they did nothing wrong and people always side with them. Now for Mulongoti even the opposition parties will have to think twice to engage him, he practices politics of the belly.

  58. UPND the only credable party with upright members and leaderdhip. Please people let us not waste time. This is the only year we can bring sanity to our country. VOTE HH and UPND!

  59. @ HH sympathisers……HH is haunted by allegations of tribalism.Personally feel that they are harshly attributted to him(but am naive like that sometimes). But his failing to come out strongly against the Sejanis and the Mwanajitis of this world when they openly came out insisting that Mr Mazoka’s successor had to be Tonga tainted his start somewhat. His political birth was not a perfect one and he has done little subsequently to alleviate the tribal perception. He has crap handlers and even worse strategists.Which really is a pity, coz he would make a decent prez,if not now some years down the line.

  60. and I owez hav had a soft spot for Mulongoti. After all he was the first to lose his job for goin against the 3rd term and how he always spoke his mind.never has been a parrot.never agreed with alot of what he said but he was always his own man.cant say that alot about a good deal of politicians both in MMD and the opposition parties.

  61. Mulongoti must stop hallucinations and just reflect on how best to map out his economic and social welfare. Zambians are alert to the fact that all founder members of MMD originated from UNIP. The failure of the 3rd-Term bid engineered by Sata resulted in the formation of several parties led by General Tembo, Genera Miyanda, Mwila, Mazoka etc. MMD was not created by Mwanawasa – a factor that seems to create a splinter group headed by Mpombo. Mulongoti should merely plan for his survival in an honest manner. Go for clean politics.

  62. Confused!!! Lets say Mulongoti was not expelled from MMD, but the position of VP was aborished. Could this guy still be saying what he is saying???

  63. PF is the only credible party at the moment. UPND the leader is too selfish and tribal inclined. All he talks about is being Tonga and young. He is young and hopeless and not the kind of leadership we need. anybody here challenge me if you are not tonga and you support upnd

  64. Sata et al are saying MMD has overstayed but he has forgotten that he was part of it for 10 solid years. If he was nominated or elected to be president of the party, he would still be in state house under mmd and he would have changed the constitution so that he runs for third or even fourth term. RB is much better than him

  65. Those condeming mulongoti are being unfair to him. if a woman u loved ditches u r u going to shower her with praises? Are u going to remain single bcoz the loved one has ditched you? you have the right to go for any other woman you want. afteroll we tend to come and love people we despised most. so lets him move on and support any party even if he had despised them previous bcoz ni normal. this year,s electlon wil b swit.

  66. we need yua vote Mr Mulongoti…welcome to PF…we don’t mind what u did to us but yua vote will count and liberate us..pliz bring as many as u can mubwato…

  67. This man has never been a democrat. Democrats stand for elections. He never stood for parliament but was always nominated, just like VJ. People like him and VJ are polical mercenaries who frustrate the work of legitimately elected MPs. He fancied himself as an indespensable king maker. Alas the man miscalculated. The king is dead, long live the king.

  68. #4 is adding a new dimension to the already murky tribal comments. Just watch; as soon as we get the tribal act out of the way, the anti-nationalists will start their tripe like this Gossip Monger. He even picked his name appropriately because he cannot even have the balls to identify himself properly.

  69. If you dig a grave for someone make sure you dig one for yourself too. Did he just wake up and realize this, Mulongoti knew all along that RB and his cronies were not good, but for selffish reasons he denied the entire Zambia development by bashing down capable leaders like Magande.

  70. Bloggers, have you noticed the trend: Mulongoti: Regret; Nawakwi: Regret; Magande: Regret; Mpombo: Regret; and so on and so forth. These are the fools who spread panic when the by-election was coming up. Are we really in safe hands if this is the calibre of leadership we are going to keep recycling day in and day out? It is worrying actually…
