Muhabi backs Nevers for MMD presidency

Time Posted: May 7, 2012 1:31 pm
Muhabi Lungu

Muhabi Lungu represented MMD

MMD Lusaka Central losing Parliamentary candidate Muhabi Lungu has endorsed the candidature of former Zambia’s envoy to Canada Nevers Mumba as party president ahead of the extra ordinary convention on May 25th.

Mr. Lungu said as a concerned member of the former ruling party, he has put forward a five tire criterion to be used as a basis for which the party should elect its eligible candidate.

He said that Dr. Mumba has shown uncompromising courageousness of dangerous and difficulties that befall him in his career and has the capacity to appeal to the three key demographic groups on the party’s electoral map which are youth, Christian coalition and regional demographics.

He adds that of the seven aspiring candidates that have expressed interest in the MMD top job, Dr. Mumba is the most suited for the job as he meets most of the criterions of leading the party.

Mr. Lungu adds that it is imperative that the former ruling party elects a leader with the robustness to face difficulties and be brave enough to confront the aggressor.

He says immediately the MMD has a substantive president; he will become the main competitor and an automatic target for the governing Patriotic Front.

Whatever happens in MMD spells down hill for the party. Because of greed and corruption there will be defections afterwards. To make matters worse, no one among themselves is ready to get into their pockets to fund the Titanic.

I would also encourage Dr Mumba to study econmics before 2016 to make him even more appealing to the wider Zambian population, i think he has an MPA. God bless Zambia and every Zambian.

Case of the blind man in a dark room wearing dark glasses telling another blind man how to run the world of the sighted. Comedy of errors.

Nevers Mumba will NEVER be President of Zambia. Never!!!!. This arrogant little fellow should look for another job. As a former man of God, he lied before God telling Zambians that being President is a demotion, he would rather be a Preacher. He never apologized to his followers after abandoning the ship!

In 2016 every region will vote for its candidate. There will be no votes to give away anymore after some people have come out in their true colours. There will never be a repeat of what Micheal Sata achieved. People don’t care who you endorse.

I wonder what this loser means by saying that Mumba has the “capacity appeal to the three key demographic groups on the party’s electoral map which are youth, Christian coalition and regional demographics”. Especially with regional demographics, you can tell the chap thinks one has to be Bemba to aspire to that office and for a youngster like him to be so bigoted stinks! Of all the candidates, Mumba is the loudest and most useless, voting for him will spell doom for the MMD.

PF has clearly become an “elective dictatorship” where we are now witnessing a Government that rejects the conventional constraints on behaviour that confined the power of its predecessors. Rupiah Banda or Mwanawasa never fired or suspended a single Judge. We are seeing a situation where a President is ordering state security agents to rob personal information of his political enemies. Why are these demonic forces scared of Nevers Mumba?

@5 george mpombo..Elias chipimo is an under five coward who chickened out of the crucial all political party meeting. He is a novice with no backbone and with no mp whatsoever in parliamnet. it would be delusional to think a political amaturer like chipimo can liberate this nation…….his will soon be in the political dustbin.

It’s okey. He’s riding on his father’s legacy just like Tilyenji did. Except Zambians differentiate between a son and a father. He needs to run his own race.

The MMD will finally disintegrate during their convention, William Banda and Dora will cause chaos. I think Dora will soon declare her interest to contest and that would make it very interesting.

Mubabi Lungu left his job to join politics. He then lost to Guy Scott. Now Muhabi is lecturing first year students at unza. He intends to stop that and join full time politics in unlikely event his nevers mumba becames president. What an ambition

During the late 80`s,  Muhabi Lungu was arguably one of Zambia`s bourgeoning  stars who exhibited some political acumen and could have been considered a political prodigy. Unfortunately, as KK`S PR machine then, he was on the wrong side of history and when MMD took over the reigns, Muhabi`s star faded and since then, he has been in the wilderness

Right on. And the problem is that these people think we forget. They want to capitalise on tujulili kids born after 1985. I went to school in the early 70′s at least and know the summer sault Muhabi tried to play like Chiluba did.

Certainly chipimo is out of the list still under five and proved die hard coward.

Un argueably point Muhabi Lungu raises. MMD is a party with solid principles that have been misunderstood, misapplied, violated and contaminated with personal egoistic biasness. If rennaiscence is to take place in MMD, the beginning is to be done through Dr Nevers Mumba. Not that he is the best out of all the others, but because he would represent CHANGE IN THE OFFING for MMD. He equally stands away from the corruption tag of MMD as he was not in the inner circle of the party. The others were at the centre stage in the operations of MMD and did nothing to mitigate the scourage of corruption. Nevers Mumba would urge all members fighting corruption cases in courts or convicted to stand aside and let clean young Zambians take over the affairs of the party. Nevers Mumba appeals to the youths

Zambian youths, he is young articulate, former Vice President, internationally exposed and courageous in his presentation. This makes him a better choice from the rest although others who will come clean from any corruption allegations would make a stronger team with him. Nevers Mumba is by far better than Michael Sata in almost every aspect of consideration apart from age. As MMD go for the election of its national leader will send jitters to PF govt that has lost the confidence of Zambian people.

This man has abardoned too many things….his God…..his church…. his fellow christains…… his party…….his supporters…. at one time abardoned MMD and his supporters to joined PF…… he abardoned PF and his supporters to rejoin MMD…. and you think he is a better choice. This is democracy at work. Let’s appreciate whatever people are doing to enhance our multi-party democracy. So countries dont have that freedom of expression.

So whoever is insulting people exercising their freedoms for our betterment is insane, certainly know nothing about democracy..

Is Zambia a theatre of buffoonery now? How can you vote for a man who first abandoned his flock, formed a party, later abandoned, was invited to become VP and quickly joined the MMD? How can we entrust our country and future to this apostate?
