  1. You were condemning RB about excessive travels now there you go. Didnt this chap just come back from New York last week, if he really needed to go to Japan, why didnt he fly directly there from Japan instead of coming here first and then hop on another airline?

  2. Mwebantu, today is 8/10/12….Ukwa will come back home on 19/10/12. IN developed countries heads of state do not stay this long outside the country. thats is why we dont develop

  3. Atleast he is not using the presidential challenger and he is not going there with a huge entorouge. Secondly He is going to meet Japan PM and emporer for our own Good.

  4. The trip is quite long, but reading the series of meetings he will be holding it is worth it. Suffice to say wastages should be curbed foremost by the office of the President itself. Let’s hope there will be some tangibles emanating from this trip in the short term.

  5. And Probably his stay there is already paid for by the Japanese Gov. Full Story. PRESIDENT Michael Sata is this week expected on a working visit here where he will have a series of meetings with Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, including the Emperor Michiko and Empress Akihito at the imperial palace.

According to an evolving programme, President Sata will also have meetings with officials from Keidanren – Japan’s Federation of the Private Sector, Hitachi executives and the president of Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA).

He is then expected to meet African ambassadors, chief executives of Toyota and attend a reception hosted by the Japanese government, International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank.

  6. President Sata will also visit Hokkaido University and other agricultural projects before attending mass at Kita Ichijo Catholic Church in Hokkaido.
About half of the milk in Japan is produced in the vast, scenic countryside of Hokkaido, the largest of Japan’s 47 prefectures and northernmost of Japan’s four main islands.

Cows are a symbol of this prefecture with souvenirs, locally produced snacks with bovine-inspired packaging.

The Japanese government is hoping to attract tourists by seizing the chance to promote Japan at the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group, which begins in Tokyo tomorrow.

  7. With the public and private sector acting together, the government aims to showcase the attractiveness of the nation’s culture through various events.
The government also aims to restore the image of Japan, which was damaged following the Great East Japan Earthquake and subsequent disasters.

The annual meetings – being held in Tokyo for the first time in 48 years – are formal gatherings of financial and central bank chiefs from the 188-member countries and make up the highest decision-making bodies of the two organisations.

    • @Thomas. Thank u for the info ‘The annual meetings – being held in Tokyo for the first time in 48 years – are formal gatherings of financial and central bank chiefs from the 188-member countries and make up the highest decision-making bodies of the two organisations.’ If you think this is not an important gathering then you definitely have issues.

  8. About 20,000 people involved in the meetings are expected to visit the country.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened up in view of the IMF/World Bank meetings with more than 5,000 police officers and some sniffer dogs to sanitise public places.

Security officials said the deployment was a precaution against terrorist attacks and sporadic protests.

  9. Dr Kaseba must be enjoying the trips,in less than a month she’s been to Namibia,USA now Japan- our taxes at work.Sata hope you have swallowed your words for condemning RB’s trips.A president leaving the country for close to 2 weeks-only in Zambia

  10. When RB was travelling it was said he was a tourist! Chiwamila nkuku kuluma mbelele! Is it this the same with what ukwa is doing?

    • Be honest can you compare RB’s trips in his first year with the ones Sata has made in the one year he has been in power. Get serious

  11. Imwe mwebantu he has been advised by Sekuru in Zim to consult Japanese doctors for long life. Which Head of State stays away from home for half a month, the man is just going around the globe and when he comes back reshuffles and retiring of some unfortunate ones. Zambia is surely on auto pilot. I miss Super Ken, ever so often there would be a press conference on ‘state of the economy’. This govt no direction, read what Mbeki has written there is truth in his observations politicians are working for themselves.

  12. PEOPLE YOU KEEP POUNDING ON RB’s TRIPS IN COMPARISON WITH SATA’s. THERE’S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RB AND SATA’s TRIPS. SATA’s TRIP ARE PROFITABLE AND HIS TEAM ALWAY SHOW-CASE ZAMBIA. RB’s TRIPS WERE TO RUN AWAY FROM RESPONSIBILITY AND SHOW-CASE HIS POCKETS AND CREATE MORE LOOP-HOLES FOR STEALING. RB NEVER SHOW-CASED ZAMBIA IN THE MANNER SATA IS DOING. ANYONE OVERSEAS WHO HAS BEEN TO SUCH SATA MEETING TO SHOWCASE ZAMBIA WILL AGREE WITH ME. WE NEED TECHNOLOGY AND MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES FROM JAPAN.

  13. enjoy life to the fullest, especially when you are in your mid 70s and using other people’s money to travel. Michael you really talked against Bwezani when he travelled heaps, what made you change?

  14. Ba Sata mwalelanda ati) ni Johnny Walker, president of the air and today chawamina galu ka? I forgive you because you did not know that power was sweet. You said) was johny flier because he was always in the air naimwe mwayamba, we are watching you!! Waiter! More beers please!

  15. wow kewna mudala alikosa..so much travellin at his old age. Im tired of travelling, especially from japan to ‘donchi kubebaland’ when i think of the long distance… on top of that. the dirt which would greet me upon arrival… blocked toilets at KK international,, poverty, filth, kaponya’s, lawlessness, blackouts, slow internet………yaba!!!

  16. Atleast he should meet Zambians living in Japan. He should NOT do what he did in New York by refusing to meet at at the Zambian Embassy that night 28 Sept 2012. Only to be addressed by his ministers Bob Sichinga, Given Lubinda and Sylvia Masebo. We wanted him to answer all questions but he chickened out and went to eat dinner with Mugabe. Mugabe just lives across the Vic Falls, you guys can always eat dinner there.. A great opportunity missed to meet his subjects in New York. Avoid doing the same in Tokyo.

    • .hmmm………..would you rather wipe the sh!t off first and then run? Most african leaders as we know are hypocrites!

  17. Bo sata try to sort out the mess within your cabinet, security wings and other structures then you can fly all you want with your “boy george” otherwise you live to regret and trust me i know

  18. Mr President if I were in your shoes I’d not dare not leave the country in such a mess. You are lucky that ba Defence master is not learned enough to strategise things otherwise in his bitter state kuti bauma coup and take over Zed. Be careful mudala 12 days is too long.Just a piece of adviceat least clear the air before making trips. GBM is an angry species right now ka
