Probe in ZRL graft reports progressing well -Moono

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) public relations manager Timothy Moono has described the ongoing investigations of alleged corruption against the Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) suspended Chief Executive Officer professor Clive Chirwa and the dissolved board as steadily progressing well.

Mr. Moono has disclosed to Qfm that the commission is receiving desirable cooperation from both Prof. Chirwa and members of the dissolved board.

In April this year, President Michael Sata suspended Prof. Chirwa soon after Transport, Works, Supply and Communication Minister Christopher Yaluma dissolved the ZRL board to pave way for the ACC’s investigations into reports of alleged corrupt practices and abuse of authority at the ZRL.

Both Prof. Chirwa and the dissolved ZRL Board of Directors had accused each other of alleged misappropriation of the ZRL funds.

  1. Awesome ! I can`t wait for the final report so that my man Clive can go back to work soon, with his head held high.

    • The enemies of progress are delaying us. Let professor give us a modern and viable railway line

  2. This is silly reporting… we know the investigation is going. But what we are interested to know is WHEN will the report be READY???????????????. Moono do your home-work before you open ur mouth

  3. Panafricanist is right, the key questions are when will a final report be ready and will it be available for public consumption? Or is this another hoop jumping going through the motions exercise in official whitewashing manoeuvering?
Is the ACC actually an independent body? If so, how?

  4. The report will be ready “Mailo” bane. I am surprised you do not know that in Zambia it’s mailo that cuts. It sucks!! You go to an office at 08:30 hoping you will be the first to be addtended to and you are told, oooh, that issue aaai, mukabwele che mailo. Ok then, you do the same and go back mailo; when they see you, they remember and say, aaah, Friday che is the best day mwe!! years keep flying and within 6 years thats how i have failed to get my title deed. Mailo, the report will be ready bane.

  5. The nation is at stand still in terms of development and governance. In its history Zambia has been subjected to numerous commission of Inquiries whose results are rarely published for Zambians to know the truth. Mr Sata is lambered with past UNIP leadership style that he cant help but to call on retired former leaders to guide him to rule. This has taken the nation years back and Zambia is not even marketed with antiquity attude towards modern governance. The next leaders of Zambia will have huge responsibility to connect with the rest of the world in order to function effectively and develop with the rest of the world.

  6. How can it be progressing well when no one has been arrested and Chriwa is still drawing out his hefty salary for doing nothing and everything has stalled?

  7. When will zambians in higher authorities stop being selfish and greedy? if prof clive chirwa is recognised and appreciated for his works in developed countries far much than zambia and we berg help from them, i think as zambian we greatly need to use such in all ways that will develop our nation or let go back to where he’s recognised if we cant use him as an asset towards developing zambia
