Nchanga-Mwape won’t go to SA PSL

Nchanga Rangers say new Chipolopolo striker Bornwell Mwape is not for sale to South African clubs.

Mwape has been linked to South African Premier Soccer League side Golden Arrows.

Nchanga president Blackwell Siwale said the Chingola side doesn’t want Mwape to move to South Africa.

Siwale described unconfirmed reports suggesting that Arrows wants to offer the 19-year-old striker trials as disturbing.

“We can consider something (offers) that will enable him to go straight away to Europe not South Africa. South African teams are not teams that can nurture a career for our Zambian players.

“Look around, all our players, who are playing in South Africa, none of them has broken into the English Premier League,” he said.

Siwale added:”I am uncomfortable when people start speculating, these rumours will just disturb the boy we want to mature into an asset of the nation.”

Mwape made his Chipolopolo debut in the June, 2014 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho as a late substitute.

  1. Title reads wrongly; please LT employ good multimedia journalists; 5W and H are basics in journalism news writing and including good leads and kickers to attract readers.

    • @1 Good that you are doing good in class of journalism. 8/10. Keep it up! We can’t wait to read your first article about Bornwell Mwape when he goes to play in your English Premier league.

  2. Please don’t sale that boy to any South African club, he is worth much morethan the PSL. Good move Bravo; he has European material particularly Germany.

    • Whilst I agree that none of the players playing in south Africa has broken into the European league except for Collins Mbesuma & Isaac Chansa, Mr Siwale should look at factors why the players cant break into those leagues. First sort out age cheating & mediocre football agents. Look at Emmanuel the last time he was a star at the Afcon in Angola he was 16 yrs old, why didn’t any of the top European clubs sign him? So Mr Chairman get your facts right and look at how many south African players play in Europe & the reason they make it.

  3. Iwe siwale leka umwaice aleya .You are just jelous of the boy. There is a big advantage in playing in the south African league .That league is watched by millions all over the world cos of their powerful media and salaries are very high.It was through Kaiser Chiefs that Mbesuma was spotted.Stop your PHD Siwale because football is not a long life career .Some people don’t play for a long time.Mwandi Mwape ask ba Liwewe ,your parents or Kalusha.

  4. @Siwale,u are right. We are not cheap to be taking our players to South Africa.lt must be Europe or Brazil .lol !
