    • PIC#17: Is an exapmle of why I never thought Chirwa’s plans were an immediate priority in this country – look at the school classroom in this picture, which I believe is just a drop in the huge sea. Should we have been spending up to US$10bn on underground trains before fixing where we should be educating our people to understand, operate, maintain and sustain that technology?

  1. Transport is still an enormous challenge in Zambia. 15km/h in this present time and age?! Even a camel travels faster…

My condolences to the Mulaisho family. MHSRIP.

    • Western Province Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Mwamba receives so much media attention. Is it delibarate or he is hard working?

    • Naine i was wondering about ba emmanuel mwaamba, dont be surprised when in 15-20 years time he will be your president. ninshi namuvota ati he is a man of action. he is hard working lol.

  2. Picture 10 is very sad. My heart bleeds every time I see poor women dancing for politicians. sad indeed.

    • This dance move in #10 looks new to me….I never saw these dance moves in the previous regimes. The women folk seem to formulate new dance moves each time we change head of state.

  3. Picture number four is showing a happy minister right in front of unhappy citizen (the lady in picture). It seems these ministers take pleasure in the suffering of the villages and claim they are pro-poor. so is the case as he is seated in that poor classroom.

  4. 15km/hr ? I would rather walk. Sadly those passengers in pic 3-5 don’t know that they deserve better. They accept that as the norm. That airless steel container surely is not fit for human use in 2013.Those cadres in pic 10 and 11 were dressed in Blue two years ago. They follow the cash flow.Who can resist a free citenge and weekend entertainment? Sadly they don’t know how much power they wield. They are told who to vote for and don’t question why?

  5. Pic 17. Over speeding kills. Passengers should report drivers who are overspeeding. Too many car accidents in Zambia these days.

  6. If you think the passengers are tortured what about me? I have to endure 2 days of crawling in a hot/cold, no bathroom train. If there was a nearby cliff I would go straight there

  7. Eish what’s up with that ancient train? Zambians are so dim, you get Fcuked every time you vote for the recycled politicians.

  8. Mr Mwamba is not suitably upset when he visits that mud classroom.

  9. Hope Mr Mulaisho’s family gave the go-ahead to post icitumbi on the Internet.

  10. Picture number 16, why dont they use the same contractors who are building the Sata retirement home to build that supposed to be classroom?? As for the train, it looks like death trap. As Nubian Princess has stated, its like it is carrying passengers to a gas chamber. Bring back Chirwa to upgrade these ancient pre independence ‘steamers’!!

  11. Its sad to even talk of train (ZRL) in this country. There is no railway, let alone trains. If one looks at the wagons, in real life, they look like things they recovered from kumalabo. Scraps. I have had the oportunity to stand & look at the rail line. The lines are wambly. any fast moving trail will fall off those rails. So if any Govt talks about revamping Zambia Railways it shld be everything:- Rail lines, new trains (Electric trains). Railway crossing shld be the first to b looked at. Gone are those times when a railway line crosses a busy highway. With heavy trucks on Zambian roads, we saw what happened at Kapiri where a train sliced a truck carrying fuel. Inocent Pipo were braaid. So PF shld stop politiking & get to work. Geting Chirwa to do them plans & throwing him out is not the

  12. Eish,i’m glad our visiting tourists wouldn’t dare eat our road side foodstuff because the way zambians handle food leaves much to be desired.Even our dilapidated trains reflect our poor people being that most live in substandard residential areas of kabwata, msisi and other slum areas.

  13. Only in Zambia!! Aya ma Train, even the ones that transported Concentration camp victims during the Second world war mu ma 1940’s, were in Better Nick! These “so called Train’s” are only really fit for transporting livestock & it’s a pity our Brothers & Sisters who entrust Politician’s with their Vote end up with this Substandard service. Now all i’m saying is Zambia has Never been at War, unlike countries such as Angola, & Mozambique, who in the short time they’ve seen peace, are getting better infrastructure & are developing, whilst we are stuck with Outdated goods possibly left over from Wellensky’s days. WHY IS ZAMBIA CURSED with Politicians who talk Big, but deliver Hot air? We are Potentially a Rich nation, so NO EXCUSE chalo Ku Wola so!

  14. I wish Chirwa had been wise. I wonder who will fulfill his vision. It will not be the same again without him. As an educated fella he should have known spending money for accommodation exorbitantly wasn’t a decision and “crucifiers” would quickly be invited. Now he has killed his political dream as well.

  15. I have had the privilege to use the fast train in China. Eish these tuma people have an advanced railway system. But it’s hard to fathom that just 30 years ago this country was very poor with its economy almost crippled but today it’s the 2nd largest economy in the world. We have a lot to learn from the Chinese.

  16. I really hope that’s a exaggeration that the train moves at 15k per hour. Seriously you’re better off with a donkey and cart.
