MMD President Nevers Mumba has demanded that a medical board be set up to check President Michael Sata’s mental faculties.

Addressing a rally in Katuba constituency ahead of Tuesday’s by election, Dr Mumba said Zambians are getting concerned over President Sata’s mental stability

He said President Sata’s recent statements have given cause for worry hence the need for a specialized board to evaluate his mental faculties.

Dr Mumba said the provocative statements from State House especially on the issue of the constitution are either deliberately made to infuriate Zambians or are an indication that President Sata is mentally unsound.

“The Bible says you shall know them by their fruits but the fruits coming from the mouth of the President is shocking the Zambians, he insults his Ministers, he lies on the constitution and everything he is doing now is shocking Zambians,” Dr Mumba told a cheering crowd.

He added, “I think President Sata is doing these things deliberately so that we leave him alone and we stop bothering him especially on the constitution.”

Dr Mumba said, “I want to propose that lets have the doctors check on him to make sure he is mentally fit, if the President is mentally fit then whatever he is doing deliberately to the Zambian people is deliberate, he just wants to provoke the citizen and then we have to get on the streets and demand that we have our constitution, if he is fit then we must fight for our constitution.”

“But if the doctors find that there is a problem with President Sata’s brain, then we shall pray for him because Zambia is a Christian Nation and we shall refer to our constitution to guide us beyond that. We cannot continue watching our country go down. We cannot continue getting shocked by his statements,” The MMD leader said.

And Dr Mumba has promised to recognise Henry Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people if he becomes Republican President.

He said President Sata’s meddling in the affairs of the Bemba Royal Establishment is uncalled for and should be condemned.

  1. Mr. Mumba, you know for sure that this is not possible. We know that Sata is just doing this deliberately to annoy the Zambian people and have grounds of arresting people once demeontrations/protests start. Sata revels and thrives in confusion and lies.

    • Regarding his mental stability, I think he is OK. Yes he may have some memory lapses due to old-age. But you have always known Sata. That is his nature of annoying people. He is just doing these things deliberately. Lets just wait for 2016 and remove him from power. Infact he may not make it to 2016 anyway.

    • We all know that the president is mentally and physically ok.

He is just too smart for the fragmented and disorganized opposition parties and they are now spewing hot stink gas to divert people’s attention from their collective failures to do their job.

Sata is just doing his job fine

    • Ba Nevrs, copy cat huh, just coz MCS once told Mwanawasa (MHSRIEP) does not mean you have to copy that as well, immature politician. use your style you failed pastor.

  2. Zambians have learnt a lesson. Surely out of 13million how wud sane pipo vote for such a man. A man who says this and does the exact opposite. He is one shameless liar the world has ever seen.

  3. Typical of African politics. It is all about Character assassination and personal attacks. This is what differentiates us from American and British politics because there in the West it is more about talking about important issues like who has a better economic model that can turn around the economy, who has the best health policy in the manifesto, who has the best policy to reduce unemployment e.t.c.

    • @Saulosi

You are spot on!. It all begins with the man in state house. When challenged about real issues he goes on a personal attack as if he himself is not a bastard fathered by a Tanzanian Father.

When he leaves power all these facts about his parentage will find their way out just like it was for KK and Chiluba.

    • Well spoken Saulosi. We are tired of these political failures who have nothing to offer but busy insulting each other day and night.

  4. if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

  5. This is what is called….crazy and crazy and crazy. Egypt formula, Ukraine formula were the Presido bolted state house….nkani yalula

Watch this space. Its easier to critise when in OPPOSITION and get blinded when RULING because the constitution you critised is now the best.
Let us be sincere PF…..among other things, RB left mealie meal at K37,000 [KR37] now the price is doubled and Zambians docility will surely kill us. I can imagine what this man SATA would have been saying now…

We are paying heavily for fwatikaling wrongly!!!

    • That is what you get for demanding minimum wage and salary increments. Did you think you could have your cake and eat it?? Sit up! Sit up!

    • @Agatha Mthombeni: Does the constitution say that if the president of Zambia is diagnosed with a mental illness, then we should start praying for him? I find this to be totally absurd.

However, I am willing to give you the benefit of a doubt. Let’s suppose that what this crazy fellow is suggesting is in accordance with the constitution. My question to you would be, how practical is that going to be in modern day Zambian politics? And by the way, do you need a constitution and a bona fide medical report to start praying for the health of a president? This is a silly idea, to be honest with you.

It sounds nonsensical to me. How did this Nevers guy find himself president of a legitimate political party? He has childish way of looking at things.

    • Read the constitution if you are not Childish. The fact that you are using internet shows that you have been to school BUT you do not read.

  6. Imagine this is the opposition we have…talking about the other rival without any mention of developmental plan? This is nonsense, why cant the opposition talk about how they will bring development to Zambia? What model are they going to use, How are they going to correct the wrongs PF is doing? Such messages are what people of Zambia want hear rather than these nonsense. Really there is no credible opposition in Zambia. Shame.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

    • @ Truth Hates

      Agreed.
Let us start asking for evidence on how USD 750,000,000.00 has been utilized.

As to the manifesto promises, ask Hon. Kambwili. He said it was just “gimmick”.

As to the pace and prosperity to Mother Zambia, you are endorsing path which leads in direction of violence and poverty.

  7. FACT: In order to have the traits of a tyrant,a certain mental misnormer is neccesary.Thats a fact that fits Sata today.

  8. The church has the moral right to advise the Government, but the Government has the constitutional right to govern. However, advise to any one can either be taken or not. Those church mother bodies opposing government while hiding behind the robes should resign and form political parties like father bwalya. If the government does not take their advise, the best they can do is let the government do its job and if they fail to deliver, vote them out in 2016.

  9. I think its better for medical board to check Never’s mental because he is thinking opposite. honestly, how does nevers think of becoming a president of this nation. he is not the presidential material, beacuse during Mwanawasa’s reign he almost put this nation in chaos with congo drc when the president was away. that’s why he was fired by Ba Levy. who does not this? this is why mmd cannot bounce back because the person in charge of mmd is not normal he also failed to run his ministry how can he manage to run the nation?

  10. I wont take any of these opposition leaders serious until I start hearing serious things from them. I mean people want to here wat you will do in power not chainama tribunals, the lying old man and his 7stooges. be serious and tell us what you will do. how does examining the president create employment for that youth? how does it put food on the table of that family? how does that help reduce poverty and better the life of that child in katuba ?

    • @Matrix

Has PF reduced poverty by doubling the price of mealimeal and transport cost while having increased the salaries of civil servants by a paltry 4%?

PF has failed dismally on party discipline, country governance and economic management. Their only success every one acknowledges is deception and launching unbudgeted construction projects of which 97% have either been abandoned or are donkey years from being implemented.

Even most of the projects left in full swing by MMD have now stalled due to lack of funds and yet Sata and Chikwanda have borrowed left right and centre. What are they spending the money on if it is not to complete all government projects?

Only useful idio.ts are too blind to see the mess that Sata and his PF are making of Zambia’s integrity.

      Wake up…

    • at wanzelu? you realy need to change your name to waignorance.. firstly civil service increamants were done on a prorated basis up to 200% for some. this was because government was harmonising the pay scale, so if you are in a pay sacle of let say GS12 and they have to bring you to a pay scale of GS08 as it was in the case of assistant accountants and assistant auditors. assistant auditors were in a higher grade than assistant accountants wen basicaly the 2positions are similar in function. it means some of them skipped a lot of grades and had substantial increaments. those remaining at the same grade got an annual increament only. in the case of nurse, they had an increament the prior year hence to harmonise them with teachers the increament was annualized for them resulting in 8-4%

    • @Matrix

So you agree that civil servants got a paltry 4%- 8.4% when Sata got a whooping 22%. Now calculate the % by which mealimeal and fuel has increased by and compare with salaries. From these figures deduce whether people are worse off under PF or not.

Its clear that your level of analysis is typical of a Matero university graduate. You belong in the same category as
Masumba. You have only picked the salary part of my blog and commented on the salary adjustments leaving out the analysis of the impact that those tiny salary adjustment and huge mealimeal and fuel price increases have on the livelihood of the poor civil servants.

You have also dodged the issue of abandoned construction projects which were left in full swing under MMD and those just launched by Sata on the…

    • @matrix

I and others would like to know why those construction projects have beenabandoned for lack of funding when Sata and Chikwanda have borrowed huge sums of money both at home and abroad? What has the money borrowed been spent on? Giving brown envelops to win public sympathy?
Can you also respond to the issue of PF party indiscipline , poor country governance and economic mismanagement.

All reserves left by MMD have been depleted but on what? Definitely not on construction projects because they have been abandoned due to lack of funds.

Where is Sata and Chikwanda taking our money?

@Matrix show us your intelligible analysis by answering the questions I have asked. By convincing me you will also be reaching out to my followers who are equally thirst for answer?

      PF =…

  11. who call Nevers Mumba a man of God because he is the same man that neglected the church in pursuit of politics Mr Mumba should not always talk against the president when he has failed to offer a sound advice to him convince people that you are capable than talking against some one every time create your own political agenda and prove its working

  12. I’m extremely happy to note that our democracy is alive and well. Democracy has won and it’s an egg in the face of those that call Sata a dictator. Try to call for a medical board to examine Mugabe’s or Kageme’s mental state in their country and see if you’ll ever walk the streets again. We should all be proud of our country that useless politicians like Nevers and HH are allowed to open their mouths carelessly and insult the President without fear of being involved in an ‘accident’.

    • If sata is not a ‘Kanja-smoking lunatic, then he has nothing to fear !! Let him be clinically assessed by a board of psychiatrists and the results released to the people of Zambia to see whether he is mentally sound enough to his the highest office of the land !!!

  13. Ba Nevers said:” IF he becomes President” he is not sure of himself.KIng Cobra alamishupa, why did you vote for him? 2016 patali.kwacha wlii be trading at 20 to the dollar, just talk till you drop

  14. Mumba please tell us your policies in MMD or are you still going to carry on with the 20 years failed policies or whose legacy are you going to bring on us? You are just another useless leader who must stay away from politics just like Sata. All you old bakolwe must step aside because you have all failed us! We the people are interested in policies not personals vendettas we are continuously seeing!

  15. If its a person that needs to be checked is you Mr. Mumba. You call yourself a Christian but the attitude is completely different compared to the way Mr. Chipumo is. The Bible is very clear on respecting your Leaders. The President might be wrong but words like yours are not expected from a person like you and this will continue to slim your chances of becoming a president. You were once a hero in church but not any more hence such insults. I truly pity you Mr. Mumba please exhibit Christan Values. President SATA is a good president with a big heart for the people. In other countries such insults can not be entertained. God bless Zambia

  16. Msana wanzili is also Teny! Be courageous enough to maintain your blogging names. Anyway politics in Zambia have gone to the dogs.

  17. The president’s mental health is in question here. His conduct is that of a mentally challenged person. The president, for example doesn’t insult his team in public, nor is he empowered to install chiefs. Please, Zambians, wake up!

  18. ba nerves you should be the last to speak. MMD failed to deliver during their time why should you think pf should dance to your tune

  19. There is nothing mentally wrong with the President. He has always has had this wry, dry and irritating “sense of humour” meant to unnerve his political opponents.
