  1. Transparent might be vocal on corruption but i doubt if its leaders are immunied from bribes.ACC has set a bad precdence by signing an MOU with a questionable NGO which has no interest for Zambians but just want to climb the political ladder using this MOU.By the way were even their books(transcation) are not that Trasparent and most of its workers are hand picked by its director.

  2. Gosh!! What is new here apart from creating a net to capture more tax payer’s money.

ACC is shy and slow while TIZ is partisan and unpredictable. Another theoretical exercise. ACC is when dealing politically-connected suspects. It is not just under PF as was the case with Mr Winter Kabimba (who went to their offices with a bunch of thugs (called Party cadres for political convenience) to shield himself from being questioned by ACC. Had it been an opposition party leader they would have been first of all been teargassed, beaten, arrested, detained and drugged to a court to be tried and sentenced for all sorts of charges. The Post Newspaper would have twisted the story and condemned them for days in its editorials. Mr Kabimba is so scared now that he is out of real PF power.

  3. I meant, “ACC is toothless when dealing with politically-connected suspects”.

Studies have been done before and ACC has also accumulated information from cases they have handled over many years. Surely to spend huge amounts on studies when there is so much to be done in the field is frustrating to anyone who wants to see a more concerted effort in the fight against corruption.

We need a Republican Constitution which treats all Zambians equally, not what we have now.

  4. Study what? Start with one Minister who has made headlines on this issue this week and proceed to ask the Police, each one of them probably had either solicited or has been offered a bribe. Most bribes are given to avoid inconveniences.

  5. Government is free to hire any academics, NGOs, individuals for the purpose of providing useful information. Without adequate information, it would be hard for government to make the right decisions in the fight against corruption.
