KK off to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

First Republican President, Dr Kenneth Kaunda is this week on Thursday, expected in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a two-day special visit.

Dr Kaunda will be visiting Ethiopia as a special envoy and is expected to deliver a special message from the Republican President, Dr Mwanawasa to the Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi on Thursday afternoon.

Zambia Ambassador to Ethiopia, Patrick Sinyinza disclosed this in a statement made available to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Lusaka today.

Dr Kaunda will be accompanied by Zambia’s African Union Chairperson candidate, Inonge Mbikusita Lewanika and five other senior government officials.

He will leave Ethiopia on Saturday December 22, and proceed to Egypt, Libya and Algeria on the same mission.

  1. Nomba Ba KK, when are you coming back and proceed to Shambalakale for Christmas? Has the big man stopped going to Shambalakale for Christmas and New Year Holidays? I remember KK spending his Christmas and New Year holidays at Shambalakale in Chinsali when he was in power. Was it a political move or what? Ba KK, we need you in Chinsali for Christmas. Or are you gonna spend it with your friend Myammar in Libya?

  2. If any Zambians are to hold any international positions either at the UN, Commonwealth and African Union, this is the kind of government support they need from their government to succeed. All those who have had the honour of working with Inonge would agree she is not only an able person but also a very amiable one to work with. Thanks to Levy for enlisting the support of KK for Zambia’s candidate for the top AU job, she will no doubt land this job for Zambia.

  3. For a very long time I ve been amazed, solenmly so, to see how jobs in the international organisations by-pass Zambians and land into West Africans, let alone Ethiopians, Sudanese. Is it little wonder that when you go to most of these organisations of the UN, you ll find traceable family, or rather, clan trees? Our own Zambian intellectuals in these organisations are the so called local staff. This points to the weakness of the Zambian Government,which should now exert its influence to get jobs.
