MMD in Solwezi backs Mwanawasa’s position

Share

The Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) in Solwezi, North western Province has backed President Levy Mwanawasa’s warning to party members to consult the top leadership before divulging any information to the media.

Solwezi District vice Secretary John Kinuna said in a statement to ZANIS in Lusaka today that party members should always consult the top leadership before making any statement on policy issues of the MMD.

Mr. Kinuna said allowing party members to make statements without consultation with the National Executive Committee (NEC) would breed confusion in the party hence the need to stop the practice immediately.

“This is a noble piece of advice and guidance by the father of our party to avoid breeding confusion in the party and it is also to prevent those who would want to promote their individual interests at the expense of the party,” he said.

He has since requested Dr. Mwanawasa to check NEC officials that were fond of issuing derogatory statement about presidential aspirants.

“As lower organs of the party, we feel it is unfair for anyone to attack other party members whenever they declare interest to be presidential candidates in our party,” he stressed.

Mr. Kinuna further appealed to President Mwanawasa to keep uniting the party and deal firmly with members who were bent on dividing the party.

Yesterday, President Mwanawasa warned party members not to issue statements to the media before consulting the top leadership of the MMD.

Meanwhile, five expelled Patriotic Front (PF) Members of Parliament have applied for leave to start contempt proceedings against party President – Michael Sata and members of the Central Committee.

The application filed before Lusaka High Court Judge, Gregory Phiri, by expelled Kasama Central MP, Saviour Chishimba on behalf of the others is urging the court to cite Mr. Sata for contempt.

This is for expelling them from the PF when the court is still determining another case relating to the National Constitutional Conference.

  1. Saviour Chishimba was photographed brandishing the Bible insinuating that the party constitution was less important. I felt bad about his comparison of the Bible with the party constitution. And today Saviour is dragging Mr. Sata to court. Yes Saviour is exercising his constitution right fight for freedom of association. Remember that formal groupings such as political parties are guided by a set of rules and regulations which every member must follow. Belonging to such grouping, one has accepted to abide by a given set of rules. I am sure this is abanduntly clear to this learned colleague and others. Remember not all contra action is a health dissenting action for development.

  2. I am not amazed such cooments of adopting expelled PF MPs came from Tetamashimba. I mean, the man to me is a person who does not think before saying anything. It explains why he has never been a full cabinet minister before.

Let PF sort out it’s problems . Well done Levy, MMD has capable people to be adopted as MPs should the seats be declared vacant. As a country, we don’t need all these by-election, the are too costly.

  3. Teta has been a very loud mouthed and inconsiderate bastard and as can be seen by the statements coming from the constituency he represents, it all goes to show that he is loosing the trust of his fellow mates. I am not going to be surprised if the guy is removed from his position come the next MMD convetion. Teta thinks he has a better grey matter than his friends within the MMD. He should take a leaf from Kazala and the late Kamalondo.

  4. leave Teta alone. in fact he deserves to succeed Levy. problem with you Bembas is that you dont want to see other tribes talk. shame on you!

  5. You know what? TETA’s big mouth will one day sell our country if we don’t do anything to seal it forever.Tetamashimba should be reminded that NEVERS MUMBA and VERNON MWAANGA where fired becouse of thier pomposity and failure to term their unbaptised lips and toungs.I dont understand why people like TETA,MULONGOTI and SILVIA MASEBO always want to be heard more than others? MWANAWASA must be careful with such people coz thier utterances do not only jeopardise the party but also give a full platform to the opposition to open their mouth against MMD.People must weigh TETA properly and learn more about him and his pompus relatives in SOLWEZI.These people are angels and do anyth bcoz TETA is an MP

  6. MUTENGO WAMINGA you must be thick,do you really understand the implication of your relative’s sentiments or have you been tasked by TETA to tell the President to leave him alone.Do you you think the President is stupid to condemn TETA’s remarks publicly? If you are Teta’s adviser then i sympathise with him in the strongest possible terms. However,i advise you to tell your brother to withdraw his statement and further apologise to MMD NEC coz his remarks are tantamount to an offence. JUST KEEP QUIET BOOTLICKER.

  7. Sorry Teta is just a dull guy it has nothing to do with his tribe. I also agree with the observation that Mwanawasa should be very careful with people like Mulongoti(he may be a tribesman but untrustworthy), Teta and even Shakafuswa, though a nephew.

  8. #4 Iwe Chi Mutengo Waminga, You are very stupid do you think all these who are condemning Teta are Bembas, that include the presdo of MMD himself. Nobody is talking tribe here, Mulongoti is being condemned as well. What is your problem, what have you got against Bembas that is giving you sleepless night and no day passes without you mentioning or thinking about them. YOU STINK TRIBAL. MALABISHI YAKO!!

  9. call me all names. I take sides yes. Will never be Bemba. No ways. not even when I reincanate as a cat or a horse. I have taken sides with Teta because there are some situations one simply cannot be neutral about because when you are neutral, you are an accomplice. I am objective and objectivity doesnt mean treating all tribes equally. It means giving each tribe a hearing. Give me a hearing you Bemba’s and bemba sympathsirs!

  10. Mutengo Waminga, you are the people who have or contributing to the downfall of our beloved nation. Even if Teta was my Father, I would not support him for president. What is tribal about condenming teta. Are you saying Levy is Bemba?? Am not Bemba my self. Go to hell with your tribalism! damn you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. You guys, why are you brininging tirbal tags on each other here/?no need..this is a staright forward matter and Teta is wrong here !cal a spade a spade….to hell with tribalists.

  12. Anna I respect you as a human being and not as a lady. As a man I will not allow you to damn me. Yu understand. What wrong did Teta do? He is the spokesman mind yu. Yu wanted him to wake up Levy (as usual) and ask him for his opinion? No. I think yu guys have gone too far. Why are yu not condeming Mulongoti? Because he appears like a Bemba. as for Levy, whats the difference between Lenje and Bemba anyway. Yu are just the same people but in different places.

  13. warwick and anonymous. I will live you to debate on Solwezi District vice Secretary John Kinuna’s rantings. Am beyond that nonsense. I debate on presidential levels. In case yu did not know, I am a genuine marxist-leninists and not revisionists like Anna and the buch of you wearing the cloak of marxism!

  14. Bwana Chuchu, if MMD has capable people, why do you get Vice Presidents from outside MMD? I think Teta had a point he has just been silenced. Dont worry Teta just support the up coming investors in North West.

  15. #11 Even where you in USA far away from zed, Bembas are still giving you sleepless nights, that shows the impact Bembas have on you living whether you like or not and you cant do without them! Period.

  16. #14 Mutengo Waminga you are some foolish and unrealistic bastard. Why are you tribalising issues and yet the topic is about one Tetamashimba who happens to be arrogant and dull. If we had a couple of you one wonders the way this country could be. Pliz do not disappoint me. I would not be surprised if you support Sondashi for MMD because he is from NW.

  17. #14 Mitengo Waminga I think you seem to be buried in sand like an Ostrich. What makes you think all the bloggers condemning Teta are either Bemba or Bemba sympathizers. Man use your brain to analyse issues at hand. You are disgusting. Dont you know that some of us Bembas have children who are your nieces and nephews. Wake up from your carcoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MA RUBBISH

  18. no need for insults here. Teta is wrong and sata will cause a bye election. I remember how the man condemned the former nchanga mp for causing a bye election when he resigned! sata was singing and dreaming about how tax payers money will be wasted by the nchanga bye election. In case you have forgoten sata you will waste tax payers money times six from this bye election. Shame on you and all your lietenents!!!!!!!

  19. Ali Mubanga: Sorry will not respond my man coz I dont know which part of your body your brains are. My point is Teta is a spokesman. and most times, the media (with deadlines) call these guys to get stories. as a spokesman yu dont nid to wait for Levy to wake up. No.

  20. Chintomfwa: Sata will not waste taxpayers money. In case you did not know, their is a budget for by-elections in billions. Take time to read the yellow book guys. the money is there in a vote at Bank of Zambia

  21. Chimutengo Waminga those condemning Teta are his own tribemens from his own constituent. Are you saying they are Bembas, FOOLISH. Teta can be a spokesman but he suppose to consult his superiors and thats what Chuchu was telling him. Not just waking up and talk without thinking. Iwe Chimutengo ulibe nzelu, so just shut up and continue washing old pipo’s buttocks in the USA to earn your living.

  22. #25 suffice to say that I stand by what I have written and respect my opinion too. Or I SHOULD CONSULT YOU! LIKE LEVY WANTS

  23. Mutengo Waminga, #24 My brain is where you think it is. But am happy. You sound mature now in your arguments. Avoid tribal/name calling in future.

  24. #24 Ali Mubanga leave Mutengo Waminga alone. Yo ass hole. yu have your brains in your legs or your are sitting on them

  25. I thought by now our president would have known Teta.I am sure he has kept him,Mulongoti,Sylvia and Shikafuswa because of the praises they sing for him. However, he should realise that one day they cause chaos and bring problems in our beloved country. He should take this as an example as they are now overstepping there bounderies. In short these bootlickers should not be toraleted to even start commenting on anything ever what they do not understand

  26. Alot of shit being thrown at each other!!!!! Respect everybodies opinion and debate sensibly. At times the truth hurts like crazy.

Teta may be wrong to suggest adopting those MPs and am sure PF members will not be happy with that as they want those MPs to suffer. They are individuals and will make their choices. They are not boot-lickers and not afraid of change. Insults are no solution because everybody can insult if need arises. The power to suppress that action is what is called maturity.

  27. Ali and Mary. can you two stop the rot. We are not interested in your chop sticks and deep tanks. have respect for us elders. Ass holes

  28. PLEASE STOP POINTING FINGERS AT EACH OTHER.REMEMBER THAT EACH TIME YOU POINT A FINGER AT SOMEONE YOUR OTHER FINGERS ARE POINTING AT YOU.LETS MAKE THIS SITE INTERESTING BY BEING MATURELY LIVELY.BLESS YOU ALL.

  29. Sometimes I cry when I see c hard working people like you (yes you who is reading) wasting time insulting each other. Do something constructive. Stop stealing company time doing notghing. just imagine fools like Mary, 39 and Ali. can you stop tghe rot. We have serious business to write about. Not your kants and screws. I woundnt mind Mary tho!!
