More MMD Members Condemn Ms Christine Moonga

Share

THE MMD leadership in Southern Province has joined other party members in condemning suspended party National Committee Executive member Christine Moonga for accusing President Mwanawasa of practicing tribalism.

Southern Province MMD chairman Solomon Muzyamba says MMD in the province strongly condemns the utterances of Ms Moonga.

Mr Muzyamba has since cautioned MMD members in Southern Province against indiscipline.

He was speaking in Livingstone today at the official residence of Southern Province minister Danniel Munkombwe.

Mr Muzyamba said it was unfortunate that Ms Moonga stood out personally to scandalise the President and called him a tribalist when President Mwanawasa was a hardworking, lovable and competent leader.

He noted that Ms Moonga had been a nominated member of MMD for only four weeks and wondered why she should embark on scandalising the President.

On Tuesday, Ms Moonga was suspended as NEC member and given 10 days in which to exculpate herself for accusing President Mwanawasa of practicing tribalism.

  1. These fools the evidence is everywhere against Chuchu and none of these *****s has put up any evidence which shows that Chuchu is not a tribalist. They are just bootlicking. Viva Ms Moonga. You are a hero and history will prove you right. You have choosen to be in a winners circle where people speak their mind regardless of the consequences ..wish we had more of you. Please at the hearing just present the evidence that is all over the place against their master chuchu

  2. Moonga was just expressing what was on the lips of every one. Even those cadres like Muzyamba know it. They just want to please Chuchu. Facts are facts. It is Chuchu who has to exculpate himself from this allegation because he has been making these tribalistic statements when making appointments. These guys, are they so blind to fail to see reality and the truth or there is another reason?

  3. Its only in Zambia and Africa at large where if cadres are asked what they are seeing being held rite in front of their eyes, they’ll say we are seeing a trousers even when they r truely convinced that wat is being displayed in front of them is a Skirt and not a trousers. They say so 2 jst please their leaders.Lets learn 2 stand up & condemn our leaders wen they r wrong & giv them a pat on their bck wen they r rite! Viva christine moonga.U hav done wat most pipo hav failed 2 do.

  4. Moonga simply has the courage to say what everyone else in the MMD knows but do not have the guts to say out loud. Chuchu has dictatorial tendancies and we need to check him. Bravo Moonga..You are an inspiration to us all

  5. these cadres think that by supporting a wrong presido Chuchu, they will make themselves known to him so that he can appoint them some day. Wrong!!!
Chuchu will keep them rite were they are! in the background!
to be used as mouth pieces at lower level!!!!
    Cadres learn! Muzyamba ndiwe puba!!
    Bravo Moonga!!!!!
    I will even marry you!!!
    you deserve a Man!!!!

  6. Ba Ndon K mwisho!Marry Ms Moonga? My man you are using a wrong fora to look for a third wife. What makes you think she is’nt involved with a man? Just becoz she maintains ‘Cadres supporting Ms Moonga’s suspension have every right to do so just like you have a right to express yourself.Party discipline must be maintained. Each case must be deal with on it’s own merit, Shakafaka’s and Moonga’s.

  7. Gentlemen that is jus a stage managed thing by Munkombwe Daniel, the southern province minister. He is using poor cadres to thank Mwanawasa for the undeserving job he gave him.

  8. Lemmy(7).Were you aspiring to be Southern Province Minister? I think Old Danny is just fine, full of old fire and very deserving uh? Politics is about mobilising masses (who in most cases are cadres) to make a public statement and Danny did just that.

  9. Mob injustice no wonder!# 9.Ever heard of loyality? It’s loyalty my ass (donkey)!Where do you come from? Obviously stupidity to you has a different meaning: anything you don’t agree with. What wisdom or is’nt that stupidity itself!Grow up.

  10. Daniel Mukombwe and George Mpombo ….bootlickers. these two individuals would do anything to please bena kuli bonsha LPM?

  11. True Muntu # 10… i do not have time to spell check! that is why we have individuals like yourself to do it for us. Zambian politicians are a bunch of fortune seekers who rely on blind loyalty from suckers like yourself. You are what americans call a “myspace loser.” I shall not allow myself to sink low by involving myself in personal attacks. you seem to know more about spellings and the internet. go to youtube and search for “myspace loser”…..? the results will be a true reflection of…..fill out the missing word. cheers to you my friend.

  12. Mob Justice my friend #12.Of all politicians on the Zambian landscape (opposition included),please single out any one(s) who you think is/are not part of what you call ‘a bunch of fortune seekers’just in case we have angels on the block. What fortune would ol’ Danny be seeking at his age? I would like Neat guys like you Moby to get in the politial scene and stop the name calling.’Myspace’ loser or not my friend beat me to reason and not name calling. hope you are having a great time in America and that you’re not an illegal there.Or you wanna get there?

  13. True Muntu # 13. The majority of our zambian leaders are politics because of the lucurative rewards. Old Mukombwe is still hanging there in order to sustain a living? If you still rely on these greedy folks to bring about the change that ordinary folks like you and me desire….i wish you luck. Zambia is not ready for true servant leaders yet as it has come to accepted as the norm for ministers to drive expensive cars and live large at the expense of the poor. it will take a whole different approach to convince or change people’s perspective about the true enssence of leadership….service … and not to please bena kuli bonsha LPM.

  14. I wanted to join in simply condeming these hopeless and poor cadres but I think our electorate seriously needs education and economic empowerment.
I can bet that each of these cadres in the above picture are registered voters who end up electing our low calibre MP`s.We have a long way to go in terms of development.
Poverty is a curse and can make people do anything in order to survive.People get insulted and yet they denounce someone who`s trying to speak out on their behalf.
Galant lady MRS MOONGA,congrats for being so courageous and standing up for what`s right.Levy`s TRIBALISM and NEPOTISM must be stopped.

  15. And I quote, “Mr Muzyamba said it was unfortunate that Ms Moonga stood out personally to scandalise the President and called him a tribalist when President Mwanawasa was a hardworking, lovable and competent leader”. Unfortunately, Mr Muzyamba cannot see things rationally. It is unfair to scandalize Ms Moonga. It is very clear that elements of tribalism are deep rooted in the present MMD leadership and in particular Mr. Mwanawasa as can be seen from the appointments he has made in key position.

  16. All u jokers have diverted from the topic.moonga is right whether u agree or not or u want displine or not.chuchu is a tribalist.it did not take him more than two days to sort out nervers or chitala but its already takin him a month to sort out his insult hailing nephew.

  17. number # 18? there is a difference between a fool and a tribalist..? LPM is no fool. you want to know who the real fool is? individuals that vote for leaders of mpombo or mukombwe’s caliber. cadres that fight during campaigns or election time. LPM is a self made man and i respect him for that. at least he stands for what he believes in. he maybe a triblist, but at least he has some pride and a bit of character in him. remember is was only high MMD official to resign citing high level corporation during the kafupi (Lord strike him little man dead) era. i only condemn him on expenditure…..he is only big spender too. problem with our leaders they seem to owe their loyalty to service chiefs as

  18. ..opposed to the general population as a whole. we all want confort him our lives, we all want the best for our children. every zambian is entitled to our copper and not a preveledged few.

  19. Zulu 83 #20. You don’t understand what people are discussing here. When you ask us who is more tribalistic between Sata and Mwanawasa, you are barely exposing your ignorance. Mwanawasa has appointed his all entire family and tribesmen/women in cabinet, gov & gov run organizations like Zesco. Tell us anyone that Sata has appointed and how he practices tribalism. If you think people of Northern and Luapula voting for PF was because of tribe, you are mistaken. Sata never campaigned in rural areas. Unless you tell us that CB, Lusaka, and the all line of rail is Bembaland then you would make a bit of sense. Luapula has no Bembas for yo info. You’re so ill bent on Sata. Why?

  20. In a democracy people are free to express their voice.Zambia has a BIG Question mark? Illiteracy and poverty are the two friends of Zambian politicians they ride on these waves.

  21. #27 you are very right.Chiluba, chibwe, chinyanta, are Lunda names not bemba. Why do pipo think Sata is tribalist? Ms Moonga is right to express her views about Mwanawasa and it is true he is tribalist look at pipo in higher position. How many Tongas / Lozis are holding ministerial positions compared to lenjes, solis and Lambas? Only those who can read or see can argue for facts coz they dont know. The police can even allow those cadres to protest along the streets wasting manpower for stupid thing.Weldone Ms Moonga

  22. Lusaka times why cant you show meanful pictures than these cadres with no sense of directions.Do you mean you are also being driven by the MMD propaganda machinery.MMD is finished come may 2011 unless they sort out leadership mess.

  23. ms moonga you are a hero no matter what these m$%**ers may say you are a self made hero you stand for the truth and dont worry you are covered just prove yourself during the hearing dont even worry…zedians these are the kind of people we need for the prosperity of our country stand for the truth…coz the truth shall set you free….moonga you are free mama…ndondinwe bantu mbotuyanda muchisi chesu tatulibazike we are free….shame on chuchu..wow!!!!

  24. Mob Justice #23/24.I respect your views on the attraction to politics coz of lucrative pay etc.But that should attract professionals, eminient persons in our society who can forego thier businesses and other personal ventures to render a service to the common folk e.g doctors, accountants, economists etc.Your opinion of Levy:Character.Let’s face it, after KK,Levy is about the best Zed has had.The electorate:poor and illiterate:What should we do about it?Just write and wine? Expenditure:Haven’nt you read of money going back coz spending agencies failed to spend? You and I gotta climb down from the terraces and get involved in shaping the destiny of our Zed in as councillors, MPs,lobbists etc.

  25. Only the dead cannot see that Mwanawasa is a tribalist. He is as useless to Zambia as a fishbone.

  26. I was entertained by the debaters Mob justice vs. True Muntu. Most other comments are too shallow. Do some people really think things will get better if they insult their leaders?

  27. Number # 32..true Muntu…remember the first usa homeland security chief Tom Rich? he resigned the top post as he wanted to concentrate on his private business as he figured that he would not make enough money. in Zed it is the opposite…people are in politics to make money. That is the onus that you and I have? to educate the electorate. let them be aware of how much our leaders earn. let us empower them to influence sound judgement. these people need to realize that it not always the ruling party that brings development to their respective areas, but the person they elect into office. i missed the article on spending…which agencies failed to utilize the money? the term of office for MPs

  28. ….and political career should be limited. we cannot allow a situation where the same people get re-elected all the time? 2 terms should be the limit and of course a college degree should be a must. Just like any other profession our leaders should have certain core competencies; character, education, ability to serve, etc. Zambia is blessed with minearl resources, but the condition of our hospitals is pathetic. we have the money to change all this, but we simply lack the right leadership to do it. they’re more concerned about driving nice cars and allocating themselves huge allowances and gratuities.

  29. Nine Chale #35.Thanks bro.I have only one Zed;one president at a time.I owe my leaders respect even though I may not agree with their policies.Mob Justice# 36/37 is a worthy blogger. The Zed we have is a product our effort. After all the blogging some one better find out how much is budgetted for you local clinic; whether it has ben released; who has benefited & whether there is value for money.Yes Zed is rich. Some of the vehicles we buy for are worth clinics and schools.Ask your MP why he/she drives a car whose value equals a basic school:accountability.Yes why gratuity is paid yesterday when civil servant leave wills on who should cash the retirement cheque when they are dead.

  30. Do members of parliament know their roles in bringing development? Can they deliver on their promises and how are they held accountable. They are repeatedly voted into power coz ba’some of us’ don’t vote. Some times I wonder whether at all everyone should be allowed to vote.Integrity Mob J is a corner stone of good leadership.Tribalism must be criminalised just like racism. And anyone accusing one of tribalism must not do so for the sake of it,but must have irrefutable proof of this scourge.Otherwise it is a very harmful tag.Zedians must actually demand leaders to renounce tribalism b4 being voted into office and make a vow to fight it.One Z, One Nation, one Pipo.

  31. By the way the unspent money: Chavuma-200Million ZMK.Last year Magande pulled back 900 million ZMK which was’nt spent at the end of the financial year.

  32. Zambia needs an Equal Opportunities Act. This act should stipulate the balance of tribes in any formal set up. In addition, Zambia needs a Tribal Discrimination Act, which should ensure no one is sidelined on the basis of his or her origin. If these tribal issues aren’t checked, they will cause another Kenya or Rwanda.

Our colleagues in West Africa, Nigeria in particular, learnt from the civil war in the sixty’s. So they have a special form of national service which focuses on breaking internal social barriers. I don’t mean ZNS, no.

Zambia is brewing an ethnic conflict and GOD forbid.

One Zambia One Nation. Zambia is for every Zambian.

  33. One would have thought that the women who are up in arms against Mrs Moonga would be doing so against the MMD leadership that slaughters and condons slaughtering women. Surprisingly, women are mostly fun animals who do not support each other.

Women, whats wrong with you? Protest against those rapists who calling themselves slaughterers. Not, a descent woman who is trying to promote democratic tendencies in Zambia.

  34. So, Chavuma failed to finish their budget allocation and even returned back 200million zmk to central gov? You guys are jokers. Are you telling the nation that hospitals and clinics in Chavuma are filled with drugs, all public schools have the necessary txtbooks and other learning materials, all the roads are tarred, our elderly fathers and mothers got their social security money, etc, and there was still a left over of 200m?

You guys, mulebako serious. Do you know that even not spending money on people is day light robery? Is that utucawa? Don’t you know that 200m zmk will now be used in slaughter rooms? Chavuma pipo question why that money was not spent.

  35. The managing Director of Zamtel gets dropped and who is still in his job SISALA even with his track record of failing to manage Zesco. why do you think he is still there, its coz he belongs to the family tree.

  36. The managing Director of Zamtel gets dropped and who is still in his job SISALA even with his track record of failing to manage Zesco. why do you think he is still there, its coz he belongs to the family tree.Keep it up miss Moonga, we need more people like you in Zambia, not fibena Teta, Mpombo etc

  37. Ms Moonga is a true and real leader. She must publicize her contact details so that we can send her personal messages and support.

    Aluta continua! Aluta!

  38. #43 that money they claim was left over is the same money they will say they are allocating to Chavuma next year thats what they do. Then money donated is what they share amongst themselves.

  39. It is like this rotten culture of praising leaders by bootlickers and those who have been struggling job seekers like Munkombwe, Mpombo,Desparate Mulongoti and other shallow minded purpoted leaders will never end in our greta Zambia.
Remember to some people KK was always right even when he proposed the satanic ‘heaven on earth project, scandalous Oil from Grass project.he was wamuyayaya..kumulu lesa, panshi Kaunda, unitl the 1991defeat in elections. He was the called names by the same chaps who woirshipped him.
If you you look at Chiluba’s reign, he was a also a hero to many bootlikers and a thief to only afew people namel;Fred Meembee, Edith Nawaki and Dipak Patel.Cont…..

  40. Chiluba was so much ahero to some bootlickers and job seekers that they took aleaf from the UNIP cardres’ KK wamuyaya through the failed third term bid. Today Chiluba is out of power and appearing in Jail all his former bootlikers like V.J,Mulongoti, Shikapwasha and others have not turned against him and joined the band wagon calling him a thief.remember even levy mwanawasa Suported Chiluba’ s bid for third term…all these was hapenning for purposes of pleasing the powers that may be.It is inafct obvious that Mwanawasa was picked to succed Chiluba because he supported the thir term bid, he alkso bootlicked chilubas’ many pairs of long-healed shoes.Contt…

  41. Today right minded people like Ms.Moonga are saying Heavy levi Mwanawasa or muwelewele as he is known in some circles is practicing open tribalist. But bootlickers and Job-seekers are at it again, openly defending the elephant left, right and center, and even man-staging demostrations supporting him. But the fact still stand in the mind of every Zambian that welewele is a tribalist who would like to be suceeded by his Lamba or Leje tribesman. His appointsments of late have been on tribal lines and defends underperforming tribesmen…eg Sisala at Zesco,Cheap shakafuswa, and also defended Mutesha at Zamtel.

  42. Ba Munkombwe we do want puppets. You should work with the people. We all understand the problem of people who are in oppointed positions like yourself. Swebo tuyanda mugwagwa uli ataala ku Choma kuya kwa Niko. Ms. Moonga has already won. Zimba-Livingstone road is in a deplorable state. There have been many accidents on the same road. Why waste time demonstrating against Ms. Moonga instead employing those jobless youths?

  43. We are anxiously waiting for 2011. MMD had promised to tar the road from Choma to Niko. Lupande Mwape was at Macha during the centennial celebrations in 2006 while trying to buy votes from the people of Macha to vote for MMD after he promised them that the road will be tarred but to date nothing has happened. We do not want cheap politics. Tatuli bana bacengwa buyo ati koomuna kulila ndiyokulila ma switi when you know that you are telling a lie. No wonder some people say join politics if you want either to kill, or lie or steal.

  44. The leadership crisis in chavuma is a clear reflection of what politics of appeasement can do to our nation. I have never been to chavuma , but i am pretty sure that the hospital would benefit from the procurement of lab equipment, beds etc. How can they fail to utilize 200 million zambian kwacha?

  45. People, when Shakafuswa misbehaved, the speaker immediately said parliament would investigate and act, so why must levy get involved before the speaker does his thing? if he had acted he would be conemned as usurping parliamentary auhtority. Infact for his part he recommended to NEC to sort out shakas, so what crime has the man committed?

  46. #62 must be a lenje left out of the family tree and your defence of Levy’s reluctance to discipline disgraciful, pompous backward, educated but uncivilised shakafuswa is a clear testmony of this. You are shouting to be seen by levy .No wonder you are called kuliboneshata.Do you understsnd separation of powers? We are sayingthe President who has poweres to appoint and disappoint ministers. The speaker does not have such powers. He belongs to the legislature.

  47. Moonga did the right thing critising LPM openly. She has paid an ultimate price just like all trendsetters, TAPALI ICHIBUMBA Pakait apa.. You got the message ,we hope you change. U CHINJE.
We know the whole family tree including top executives of the Utility companies.

  48. #62 Kulibonesha, ULIBE NZELU, Mulyata was fired there and then. You uncle chuchU did not wait for the court to concluding the case, before firing him. So why should he wait for the speaker to investigate and act when he is the appointing officer. MALABISHI YAKO.

  49. #46, Zamtel MD or is it former, is also from Family TREE, Dont be eluded by name Tembo. He is lamba from Mwanawasa mother tree side.
Everything is very TREE in Zed in this govt. Their is a succession plan in Zamtel.

  50. #65 you are a liar. Mulyata was not fired there and then (is he your uncle?) He was suspended from duty pending the outcome of legal proceedings that had been commenced against him – MALABISHI YAKO. #63 Shakas is alleged to have misconducted himself at parliament motel which is within the speaker’s jurisdiction as chief executive of parliament, that is why the speaker took on the matter, there is no issue of separation of powers here. As soon as due process is satisfied and Shakas is proved to have erred, he must be punished not because of fickle political wishes. Be reasonable

  51. #67, you seem to be a backward blind supporter. Mulyata, Gladys, Nevers were relieved of their cabinet duties pronto before the courts concluded the cases. up to now they havent found Gladys guilty meaning she is still innocent. Get the proper facts before you support blindly. U claim to have been at UNZA, is this the critic you were exposed to? Lets call a spade a spade. Mwanawasa has SUDDENY grown cold feet just because the center piece is his blood.
Nevers is said to have put Zambia in a security fix? I have been to Luapula province and i know how porous the border is right along the entire Luapula river and when Nevers is said to have said some militias

  52. from Congo were in Zed, u think he was lying? Levy himself said the same stuff. He is just amnesia infested and cant remember what he said even minutes after.
We need justice and fairness. Frightone Sichone, former land commissioner has enough information on how levy has aquired land. wait as time goes on.

  53. Kulibonesha, why is it that the majority are for the idea of dismissing shakafuswa? is he the only deputy minister in zambia? think twice. Much as i have relatives who are lamba, i dont support the issue of shielding people even when they are wrong. Remember, Shakafuswa is not just a mere citizen, he is a minister and it makes him to stand out from the rest of the public. Leaders need to learn to be morally upright as you cannot hide in the secularism of saying his private life is his business. Remember Chitala was fired even for his own opinion. Read between the line Kulibonesha please mwisho twapapata mwitusebanya pafula lukoso
