Faz Premier League Week 4 Match Reports

Share

CITY 0- ZANACO 1

Zanaco this afternoon won their first league game of the season after dispatching City of Lusaka to their second successive league defeat of the season at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

The Bankers goal came from an unlikely source in the form of Zambia defender Kennedy Nkethani who headed in free kick in the 26th minute of the first half in a see-saw game that could have gone either way.

City are without a win at home in two consecutive league leagues after promoted Nkana also beat them by the same margin on March 23.

Zanaco coach Wesley Mondo left his former club City with a smile after erasing that humiliating 5-0 opening day home defeat to Power Dynamos.

However, City coach Fighton Simukonda, who was fired at Zanaco last July, refused to acknowledge the possibility of an early crisis looming at Woodlands.

LUSAKA DYNAMOS 0-NKWAZI 1

Things are just not going Lusaka Dynamos’ way this season.

Dynamos today not only failed to score for a third successive match, but are also winless in as many games with one point to write home about.

Today’s defeat was even bitter in the sense that ex-coach Oswald Mutapa Jr lead Nkwazi to a 1-0 win over Dynamos away in his first game in charge.

Dynamos lost Mutapa’s services after his employers Zambia Police thought it wiser to have him coach the promoted team they sponsor after a successful season with the Queensmead team last term.

Nkwazi ‘s Obby Mumba scored the all important goal to see Nkwazi lead the table for at least 24 hours before Nchanga Rangers host Red Arrows in Chingola.

Nkwazi have 7 points out of possible 9 after three rounds of league games played.

YOUNG ARROWS 0- KONKOLA BLADES 0

New Konkola Blades coach Chewe Mulenga got his first point in charge of the struggling Chililabombwe club despite failing to beat 10-man Young Arrows.

The draw was Blades first point of the season after two successive defeats against Green Buffaloes at home and Kabwe Warriors away going down 2-1 and 1-0 respectively.
