The deal witnessed by Acting President Rupiah Banda means that KCM would be paying salaries of Herve Renard and assist and his coach

Mr. Banda thanked KCM for the offer to be paying salaries for the two coaches.

Speaking after he witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between KCM and Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) in Chingola this morning, Mr. Banda said government was grateful to KCM for social responsibility the corporation has  continued to extend to Chingola community.

He urged other corporate houses to emulate what KCM has done noting that such efforts would take football in the country to greater heights.

Speaking at the same occasion, Mr. Baid said his company was committed to the development of football in Zambia.

He encouraged Zambians to support the sport if the country is to regain the glory it once enjoyed in soccer cycles.

Meanwhile, FAZ Secretary George Kasengele said paying expatriate coaches by government had not been an easy task.

Mr. Kasengele said the will by KCM to take over the salary responsibility for coaches of the national team had been on the tables since 2006.

He also thanked government for the support FAZ receives from the government.

  1. Now you fires the two PE teachers if Clifford Mulenga is not recalled to play for mother Zambia because it seems FAZ are not concerned.

  2. we dont need clifford mulenga! he needs us more. that boy is very silly. he just wanted the coach to call him so he can cum and see mampi. he should learn how to pass the ball first then he can play for zambia. he is very selfish. kalaba is a better player.

  3. why couldnt Phiri or the late Ben Bamfuchile be paid by the same KCM.why use the word expatriate and why not international?lets learn to support our citizens feel jealousy of them.lets not use the world expatriate but international.Phiri and Ben were international materials, ask the namibians or the tanzanians?

  4. What about the under 17,20, 23 and assistant coach-Chicken George on the senior team who will be paying for their wages? The other thing since these guys -Renard and his muzungu assistant will be drawing quite a handsome pay,are they going to be involved in the development of soccer in the country when there is inactivity in the national teams? We do not want to see these two guys-Renard and his assistant spending much time outside the country on holidays at the instead of conducting training session for trainers in the country with much emphasis in the rural areas and school, colleges’sports masters.Only if they do it this way will our standards of football can pick up.

  5. ka kalu and the useless Govt use the money you used to pay the 2 coaches to build new infrastructure’s and not renovating them what kind of nation without a world standard stadium and you call yourselves soccer lover’s.i wish our Govt could just build at least
one GOOD Airport and one stadium TWAPAPATA THESE MINISTERS DONT THEY FEEL EMBARASED WHEN THEY TRAVEL TO OTHER COUNTRIES. learn from others please

  6. Great news, but our coach must improve on scoring techniques,we missed a lot of chances, now that the coach will be paid by KCM he must show commitment, that money is not 4 free, otherwise better not pay him.

  7. Very good gesture by KCM they’ve really been supportive of the cherished sport.

However, we need good results; Herve and your assistant work on the frontline please! Football is not just about entertaining but scoring. Its embarrassing to beat weak-Togo by a lone goal at home. Improved performance will also make it easy for FAZ to find corporating partners like KCM.

  8. Imwe ba Mwenye, bushe fyamano ifi mulechita? mwakana ukupela bashi mine ulupiya mwapela mwana mala yambi? what do you think of us employees of your company? Mulefwaya tufulwe tui zandamune? kwena mwalitusula, are you the ones employed the coaches?

  9. Ben was getting 50 000 rands per month, here in Namibia, he was a good coach pity he died. Phiri is not a good coach or at least he ran out of ideas at Afcon.

  10. The money that is being paid out to these two unperforming coaches is just too much. What KCM would have done was spend this money on the development of soccer in areas where they operate-i.e reviving the nursery clubs in mine townships and other locations(townships) in Chilis,Chingola,Kitwe and Nampundwe.KCM should have come up with the youth league for teams in under 14s,16s,and 18s.By so doing the country can have some reserves that can always make our national teams-under 17,23 and the senior ones to be good teams.KCM would have asked for the opinion of the general public to find what the position can be.As the situation is now there will be well paid coaches but no quality players.

  11. This is long overdue but Why can’t KCM pay even Georgy Luandamina? He is also an Assistant Coach not a Kitmaster! These Menyes should even build and maintain sports facilities. They can’t even mend pothole let alone built their own houses in Chililabombe. They are staying like chickens in the ex ZCCM Gousthouses. Shame. Tax them heavily!!!!!

  12. I don’t Kalu should be insulted over this gesture. KCM offered along time tp pay HR and his assistant even when Mulonga was the head of FAZ. They are just doing their corporate duty. This will help FAZ pay other expenses such as youth coaches. GO Kalu.

  13. RB is campaining. Why not the Minister of sport or permenent secreatry wittness the signing? Political milage.

#9 Gascgoine -I disagree we should build a hospital before we even think of a state of the art staduim. I understand UTH is over worked and service is bad.

Ama kula aya won’t go anywhere . Zed soccer is low.

  14. Iwe Soccer Fan # 100003 how many meaningful games has Clifford played for the senior national team and how many times has he scored.
As great a talent as the kid is,he is also a liability on defence.Mind you in football you cant call a timeout after attacking to change personel.
Mr Emmanuel Munaile should talk to this boy and tell him that as skillful as Munaile was,he was playing the same position as Charles Musonda,Godfrey Kangwa,Patrick Banda but also understood that his time would come.
Kalusha too endured some time on the bench because he played the same position as Romario.

  15. Can someone or say companies in lusaka or CB come up with a mini league for our amature sides if that still exist nowdays, something like interprovisional soccer tornamnet where the amature teams- CB select,Northern pr select,Lusaka pr select, luapula pr select etc play in this mini tornament like it used to happen in the 80s and early 90s where we had the CB verse the Midlands. Its from such arrangement that Soccer in can develop and coaches can have a chance to look at players from the shantini areas of Zed who can make a difference to Zedian soccer as well.Remember Green Buffaloes of 1970 with the likes of Obby Kapita,Pele Kaimana,Francis Kajiya etc all these players were spotted in the shan
