Morocco Crush Zambia

Share

Morocco on Wednesday evening crushed Zambia 3-0 in a friendly match played at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.

The Atlas Lions roared to a 2-0 lead into the break after taking a 3rd minute lead through midfielder Houssine Kharja of Italian Serie A side Siena.

Porto striker Tarik Sekitioui scored his second goal against Zambia in as many friendly matches this year with a 25th minute penalty.

His Spanish based team mate and striker Nabil Baha of Malaga completed Morocco’s win over Zambia heading in the hosts third goal just three minutes after the hour-mark.

The results stretches Zambia’s winless streak away against Morocco to three friendly games after losing there 2-0 in Fez this past January and 1-0 in 2001 in Rabat.

Meanwhile, Zambia’s fellow 2010 World Cup Group C qualifiers opponent Egypt swept aside Benin 5-1 in their home friendly match played on the same night.

Hosny Rabou put the African champions ahead on 25 minutes before Emad Moteab struck twice in the 27th and 41st minutes.

Mohamed Aboutrika gave his side a 4-0 halftime lead on 43rd minutes and before adding his second of the day in the 74th minute.

Benin scored their consolation goal through striker Razak Omotoyossi just five minutes from fulltime.

Morocco: Karim Zaza, Elamine Erbate-Youssef, Rabeh-Badr El Kaddouri, Yacine Abdessadki, Youssef Safri, Houcine Kharja, Youssef Hadji, Nabil Dirar, Tarik Sektioui, Marouane Chamakh.

Zambia:Kalilo Kakonje, Davies Nkausu, Hichani Himonde, Chintu Kampamba, Noah Chivuta, Kebby Hachipuka, Clifford Mulenga, Rainford Kalaba, Chris Katongo, Fwayo Tembo, Collins Mbesuma

  1. Sad, to loose by such an embarrasing margin is not good for the team and the country. More needs to be done to improve the team’s performance.

  2. I’ve never been more impressed! This defeat was one of Zambia’s best in an international friendly. Let’s keep it up, boys! we need more results like this. Well done, Renard.

  3. A win or a smaller marging would have been better
but, We should not loose hope and just hope that
We can give our very best against Egypt.

  4. #2&3 am sure you are the same chaps who congraturate your children after failing their exams, we dont need people like you coz you are distroyers.
i would advise faz to arrange more frendly games with the arabs, next team must be tunisia.

  5. #6, we need money being spent on these air tickets to repair roads, sometimes persistent failure is unproductive. Dont hide in the 99 failure and 1 success theory about Thomas Edisons discovery of the light bulb, he was not pressured by economic or scientific pressure, it was his personal duty. But Zambia losing with such a margin and knowing that the coach is still being questioned as to wether he is qualified or not, we should rise up and may be sponsor Judo or Boxing which seems to be bringing zambia on the sports map than the history of Kelvin Mutale MHSRIP. The formidable team died in Gabon, all these are clowns and shadows

  6. Meanwhile the MP’s have voted unanimously to have their pockets filled. This time RB will have no option but to sign. What a constitution that has sold all its powers to the incumbent. The president will have no choice and since he is a direct beneficiary, he will quickly stroke his pen in assent. So all the little ZRA is going to go to the pockets of about 160 pipo.

  7. #6 did you think that Zambia was going to beat morocco? conon be real!
looking at the team selection Zambia did very well, 3 zero is not bad result.

Well done renard Zambia, shall qualify for the world cup 2010.

  8. #4.any player matters otherwise why spend money on him to travel all that long.Good results guys you pay for what you are.I lost confidence a long time ago.Just like i have lost hope in our leaders who are increasing their salaries when medical doctors cry for just 1% of theirs.Keep it up till the end of the world.

  9. Its Zambia ONE commedy. Zambia 0- Moroc 3;
Zambians 0 – Mps et al 3..ah ah ah Zambia one commedy. Meanwhile more politiquing till 2011.

  10. ba 6 naimwe dont you know that they are kids who unteachables.Thats why you should choose a lady who thinks otherwise ni disaster kubanga iwe. Mulesekako nokusekako otherwise pa Zed kuti wafya nechikonko bambi bali munsasa ngaba MP.O games coming ikaflopa

  11. Better to know where we really are and hopefully do something about it. Kalu and team: congrats for the good prep friendlies. One step at time lads!

  12. It is a wake up call, Zambians talk too much on about anything. Did you expect a miracle when our local league is in shambles. The standards are so poor that I can’t believe that its the premier league. We need to invest in sports infastructure and youth development. We have had enough lip service from government and therefore there is need for action. If we don’t we shall only dream of qualifying to the world cup and our local teams we just get knocked out of tournaments by teams from “small nations

  13. games like this are used to try out player who are normally not used in the starting line up, take for instance kakonje, when was he last used in the starting line up?
lets just correct our mistakes before the game against egypt, in football, there only three results, win, lose and draw. in 1998, brazil was beaten by france in the world cup finals via the same margin that we lost, so lets just move forward.

  14. Really Zambia One Comedy or the GoDs MuSt Be CraZy PartIV. We are perenial losers to Arabs. They have that odesity to score against us in the early stages to unsettle us & it has worked throughout. That thrashing is dissappointing.Let it be a reminder to us. It is good we went to Rabat and Lost than to play Copperbelt select. At least it has exposed our weakness which I have always alluded to.Zambia is so predictable against Arabs,we loose crucial Games.Let us prepare against Egypt adquately or the same comedy shall greet us.We preparing for WorldCup not COSAFA for Gods sake or Kalu OUT OUT.

  15. This was just a friendly. it is meant to help the coach and the team to iron out any defficiences, While we cant be very happy we need to be glad we played Morrocco.

  16. I will be watching ricky hatton and malinaggi from las vegas on saturday while you keep watching chipolopolo and enriching your hopeless MPS from your tax. You have algeria and egypt to beat before proceeding to SA. its a big task!!!

  17. I think we like to over react, first of all LT has not told us how we played, they say soccer is about goals but this was not a championship game. This was a friendly game where accessment of players is done. If we were impressive but we lost then it is an opportunity for us to improve. We need more friendlies to get into a better shape. so ba Zambia keep on keeping on

  18. I beg to differ democratically to #20 D.S comparing the Brazil loss to France in the worldcup Finals in 1998. meaning it’s ok for us to also lose. That 1998 game was in the WorldCup finals.were you even win a Silver medal for loosing. ours is the predictable thrashing. The mistakes we make are almost the same, so when are we ever going to perfect our act against Arabs in crucial games. Frendlies are dress reheasals that must be taken seriously even if trying out new players, why play them if they are for fun!!!!!!!better the team goes to Munga Wanga then.we want their buid up to instil confidence in us not thrashings like that.Let ZNBC show us the Game so we judge the team so far.

  19. #24 you dont think like your MPs.Dont you realise that we needed to win otherwise why spend alot of money.A wrong thing will never be right. So when your child fail at school you never over react? you are insane. You said LT needed to tell us how nice they played,Lord, no matter how nice your handwriting is if you have failed you have failed you exams.#24 ulimu grade shani?

  20. Morocco has always been a better side than Zambia, so this result comes as no surprise. But the good thing is that we are playing against very strong opponents and that way we can learn from our mistakes and develop a stronger team in the future.

  21. Good luck boys you win some you lose some , cameroon lost to south africa via a 3-2 margin yesterday, imagine 3 goals past cameroon?!

  22. The whole point of the friendly match was to assess the players! This is just the first game, well first real game, let HR come up with a better game plan going by how the lads played and then play another high profile friendly in order to put his GP into action. Never give up boys, if at first you dont succeed, try, try, try again! Chipolopolo………..iyeeee…………

  23. We must continue to support these boys, they have so much potential to allow in even MORE goals. This was a gallant display by the boys. Let’s continue with the spirit.

#6 D.S … focus on the ball. No need to argue with my internationally educated mind, you’ll get bruised.

  24. Come on pipo, what were we expecting. Our squad with the exception of katongo dont play regular football in a competitive league.Did you take note of morocco’s goal scorers.1 I have watched play in this years european champions league, the other is in the serie A in Italy and the other is in Spain.

Garbage in Garbage out.We are not going to bake delicious cakes from sand!

  25. Zambia needs to invest in Strikers….unlike popular belief, strikers can be made….

The most prolific strikers are not “wow” players. they just know there job. Going for the goal and putting the ball behind the net at all costs. period

  26. Zambia is so predictable. Give me Lesotho to coach and I can surely thump Ichipolopolo.

The strategy will be to go at them early minutes, they make mistakes & conceed a goal. That goal unsettles them & go at them again quickly, they conceed another goal. Then cut out passes to christopher & his young brother felix, Mbesuma is finished for NOW.Shoot on their goal post relentless & employ croses Kalilo will commit mistakes.Allow Zambia a bit of false space to make them come forward then quickly counter attack them, surely they will conceed another goal period. This is the technical approach when playing Zambia. So the coach should seal this strategy I’m giving free advice.

  27. WORK HARD WE NEED 1 WIN TO BE SAFE OR ELSE DIVISION 1 SOUTH NEXT YEAR.
    VIVA CITY! CITY YAMOTO!
RENARD BE SERIOUS 3 NIL BASHING, K100MILLION FOR NOTHING, NO VISION, NO MISSION, NO STRATEGY. ALWYAS COMPLAINING ABOUT STRIKERS WHY R U THERE? 20 PIN DOLLARS FOR WHAT? SH..

  28. Please ZNBC show us this Game, it’s tax payers money used to send the team to Morocco so evern if thrashed 3 – Nil show us this Game period. “We” the Zambians need entertainment and that game will passes for one good entertainment.

  29. Expected that loss,whats new???

I hope the 400 million kwacha the GRZ invested in rural for sport will change our Zambian soccer in 5 years.

  30. This is not time to try out players who do not usually make the first 11 in competitive matches, playing againest morroco we needed kennedy mweene in the starting line up not kakonje whose been on the touch line for sometime now,to the coach and his team we do not want to see such miscalculations or can i call them experiments when we travel to cairo next year.hard luck boys,we need goals in the coming encounters.

  31. congrats kalu you got as a hell of a coach, since you can get away with murder but phiri was crucified when he produced better result than this man you hired.no 2010 for us with such results

  32. am not surprised at the 3 gols they scored, but our team need to score goals. Katongo is ofform try new strikers coz its a friendly game

  33. Karim Zaza, Elamine Erbate-Youssef, Rabeh-Badr El Kaddouri, Yacine Abdessadki, Youssef Safri, Houcine Kharja, Youssef Hadji, Nabil Dirar, Tarik Sektioui, Marouane Chamakh.

Unless Zambia was joking to expect a win against the formideble side like this one. Guy you should concertrate on playing pool and nsolo in pubs.

  34. When you have a squard of players whose average education is Grade 9 u cant expect much. School trains people to think and have a different approach in life. People who have been to school given an opportunity to perform on international platform would grab it with both hands. A team needs to have some intellectual and phsychological capacity to deal with pressure. I dont see this in our team. All great players play with intelligence and until Great Galu and his fellow Galus see this we are not going anywhere period!

  35. Today I have nothing really to say except be depressed about the future of Zambian football. Maybe I can take solace in the fact that we have a P.E Coach and join hands with #43 to offer congrats to Kalu for giving Zambia such a coach

  36. We just need to work hard. This shows we are far from being ready to face Egypt.Hard work and planning the game is important.Herve should use his brain and come up with winning tactics.Benin scored one at least why cant we score at least a goal too

  37. Hahaha!!!
My fellow country men as Kaunda would say,How do you expect to reap were you did not sow???
Only the executive in Faz are reaping!! dont blame the coach, they palyers but these selfish quacks in the executive

  38. I am not shocked by these results.Kalu and FAZ is like Sata and PF.Very good at disapointing their followers.Let all the local coaches from division one to premier league teams submit names of all potential national team material to FAZ.This should be the B TEAM where national team players can be groomed.

  39. #49, you dont need a master degree to play football, most great footballers are not highly educated but they still perform. south africa beat cameron because they are serious and have employed a top class coach, it has nothing to do with school. the likes of kapambwe mulenga (mhsrip) were great footballers with very humble education backgrounds.

  40. but ba z sure mwatufumwamo ichimwela can you imagine
even ba mbesuma bamuna amene utongola nshaba kumatako was
in chabipa yet never lose hope.

  41. FAZ HAS A PLUS COZ AFTER A LONG TIME WE MANAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN FIFA FRIENDLY GAMES. TO ME, THE PURPOSE WAS EXPOSURE AND WINNING IS SECONDARY. REMEMBER FELLOW ZAMBIANS,YOU WERE CRYING FOR ‘HIGH PROFILE GAMES’ AND MOROCCO VS ZAMBIA QUALIFIES TO BE A HIGH PROFILE MATCH. THEREFORE DON’T FORGET WHERE WE ARE COMING FROM. COME ON KALU KEEP THE VISION-‘EYES ON THE BALL’.

  42. Let us invest more in youth football, we will reap the much needed results. Just look at our local league ( Divisions 1 North and South and the so called ‘Super League’). What do you understand the term Super? This word means something which has some value in it. Now look at our ‘Super League’, has it got value in it? Are the players being motivated? Are we seeing the Bestone Chambeshi,Gibby Mbasela (MHSRIP) and many more quality players of yester year in today’s footballers ? The answer is a BIG NO. So please let all the stake holders invest in youth football to bring back the lost groly.

  43. i’m now in hiding from my Moroccan friends who’ve all attacked my facebook wall with garbage. Oh Zambia, why oh why do i defend you so much. even the congolese passport with its chaos is now more appealing to me. woe to me! but i shan’t give up on you, even if you have broken my heart for the past 10 plus years. its this lavu ya muti i have for you, that you gave me from birthyness at UTH.

  44. guys food for thought imagine putting mbesuma mu goal, mwati kuti baingisha? umu guyz naina kwati bali pa biggest loser competition kanshi ni bola balimu. chilopolopo, dont dissapoint 2010 dreams ka.

  45. Those of you who cried for Mbesuma to be brought back, there is your man. Two matches zero shots at goal. Even at his team in SA he is now warming the bench. None the less friendlies are for training purposes. Recently South Korea beat Brazil in a Friendly but in a competetive game things are different just yesterday Germany lost to England in a friendly, at home in Berlin for the first time since the 70s, I’m sure in a real match it would have been different.

  46. It is not easy to master the real line-up for zambia nowadays because of experiments from the coaches. That way we keep on receiving negative resuilt.

  47. It will take centuries for Zambian soccer to improve. By the time Zambia wins Africa Cup, all of us bloggers would have kicked that bucket or will be limping with old age. So just merry while the sun shines. Do other sports like jogging, playing draft, pool, drink Mosi and take soccer as just one of those things.

  48. ‘Morocco on Wednesday evening crushed Zambia 3-0 in a friendly match played at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.

The Atlas Lions roared to a 2-0 lead into the break after taking a 3rd minute lead through midfielder Houssine Kharja of Italian Serie A side Siena.’

This is a good lesson to show us how much serious we have to get f we have to beat Egypt and get to the world cup.

Chipolopolo boys Together we can do it and so focus please.

  49. Well, I guess it was not Zambia’s day. They were playing away anyway. One thing’s for sure, I am positive they have learnt from their mistakes and I expect they would do better given another chance. All they need do is practice and practice with the Arabs.

  50. #49 Great Kalu and not Great Galu show some respect.Like it or not Kalu is rated as amongst the greatest players Africa has ever produced. As for you kaya(katwishi)

  51. The main purpose of friendly games is to gauge yo fittnes and sychological preparedness so as to improve in the positive areas and also work on the negative aspect observed during those matches. You need to understant the game of Football for you to appreciate.

  52. #16 and #12 You have really challenged me Instead of saying negative things towards the chipolopolo boyz, you decided to be behind them.Mwangufwisha bwino guyz, this tells me that you are real soccer fans who understand the game of football.Wheather Win or loss Chipolopolo boyz#12,#16 and myself we will always be behind you.

  53. I am celebrating today because pa Zed we dont learn.Nama politicians thats why bamibeleshesha.I just got permission fron work heading to drink.Viva Zedians tamwakaleke.using your heads, you do not want, worse using your legs,ha ha ha ha amangwa

  54. People seem to have all this false hope that Chipolopolo is just going through a bad patch. On the contrary, the team have performed poorly for the past 12 years and there isn’t an immediate remedy for this. No proper infrastructure and no good youth policy and no decent league.
Players rush to sign professional contracts with mediocre clubs and I see this as a “get a better life for myself”, which I don’t blame them for, therefore representing Zambia is a matter of, if I get picked fair enough and if I don’t well at least I’m living in Cyprus, Joburg or in Scandinavia earning better than I would in Zambia. We all have heart for our country, but please don’t be disillusioned.

  55. Yaahh ba zambia muletusebanya, how can you loose 3-0, it a pity shame on you guys, and the coach who always defends his teams poor performance, well done Morocco, it would have even been better if Morocco scored more goals. How can the coach use Mbesuma as a striker and expects him to score for zambia?? The past is the past, there are guys who can do better, it dosn’t mean that if some one plays in the SPL then the guy is brtter than those back home, No, The SPL is worse as compared to our Leauge, the only different is that their is more money. WELL DONE MOROCCO

  56. I think the important thing to do is to draw lessons from the game. We need to improve and try to work on those weaknesses that were shown during the match. All the best guys and keep working hard.

  57. #80 SEER, They were unbeaten in Berlin since 1973 when Brazil beat them, England triumphed by 5 goals to 1 in Munich, read carefully what Disgusted Spectator has written before you try and make yourself look smart.

  58. Zambians are alwayz amazing, owez criticizing.4a long time we never used to hav competitiv gamez lyk thiz.we usd to play Malawi n select sides but thax 2 THE GREAT KALU we are playin big teamz.we nid such games 2 help us kno tht Mbesuma is outdated & 2 sho us that Coach Phiri is mor qualified than Renard.th mor games we play of such a calibre th beta we get, hats off to th eyez on th ball team.hop we play Tunisia next tym so we kno how ready we are to play Egypt..lets go Zambia

  59. indeed i took time to comment so i can hear the comments of basketballers and golfers, and indeed i have seen how shallow can think and just how we like to bring politics into soccer. firstly its not the coaches fault that the best defenders we have are not good enough, afterall most volleyballers were calling for the inclusion of these same players, its good we lost coz now we know were our mistakes are. one said kalu should?should go were?just coz he organised a proper friendly zambia has ever had in a long time, well i almost forgot its zambian culture not to apprciate wat others are trying to do for us.SHAME,GO ZAMBIA GO,

  60. The only good thing Zambia has going for her is football…so can the team go out there and play like they mean to. Best luck next time 🙂

  61. #80 you did not read through correctly. Whereas England beat Germany in that memorable 5-1 it was not at the Berlin stadium. That was in Munich. No team has beaten German at the Berlin Olympics stadium since 1978. That is their fortress. Check with the English or the Germans. I watched the game live on an English channel and these is where I got the statistics.

  62. well done MOROC, good result with not a fal team. we should play ghana/nigeria or i.coast as a warm up, as they will be more like cameron. and play them away

  63. It was expected. Our team has never been that good, it only wins by chance.Have laughable skills, big game temperament, and no proper strategy. They only go with the wind! Three- zero is like icing on the cake! Management must wake up before it is too late. I long for Godfrey Chitalu,Zoom Ndhlovu,Bernard Chanda,Alex Chola, Dick Chama,Moses Simwala and many more from this era who made Zambia proud!!

  64. Ahh, well done am proud, it could have 5-0 but you faught hard to hold them at home, just ka 3-0,lol

Start scoring, its not strange that we don’t have any of you in a Big european team, you belong where you are, south Africa suits you mwema kula, kuti mwatu sebanya mu premiership

  65. as long as we have renard and kalu, forget about winning. i bet lesotho would even thrash those boys.
how do you expect to identify talent in 90 minutes against morocco when you fail to do so every single day you train with them?
lets call a spade a spade, kalu and his french lover have failed.

  66. Zambia will go nowhere in anything, sports, economy, health, education, and more. So for those so called hard core Zedians, screw your balls. Zambia sucks in anything except in drinking beer. Stop dreaming of 2010 w/cup. All the players are makulas, well done morocco. ZAMBIA HAS A LONG WAY TO GO IN ANYTHING PERIOD!!!

  67. I is easyze to say the team lost, but how difficult it is to contribute for the team to improve, I would suggest to coach that he utilize the time that fifa sets whem the players get a bit of rest tha he may have the full team and prepare well, it is also a good idea to organize games with the arab countries and we need more of this.

  68. Bad results. All of you above as long as you are Zambian you will be affected by these results so contribute responsibly and think before you write.

  69. We lose tournaments we complian of no good friendlies. We play good teams we lose.

    Arabs have our number.

Ba Zambia Makula Period. Don’t even reflect on the perished team they never won anything either!!

  70. Good Zed, that’s what i expected from you. Now i wait for an excuse as to why you lost or just the usual ones. Good luck boys.

  71. Pity Zambia soccer team lost to morocco. But perhaps its a good thing we got a picture of how ‘far’ Renard has brought this team. Somebody in FAZ needs to put their foot down & call a spade a spade. Either Renard is relieved and Patrick brought back or atleast included on the technical bench. If no drastic measure is taken in the next 2 months I can assure the nation that Zambian players will watch 2010 from their living rooms just like a good number of the bloggers on LT. WATCH THIS SPACE! FAZ also need to pay special attention to youth football & the local league(i.e.coaches & standards)coz currently we have poor representation of players abroad. These are our biggest problems gentlemen.

  72. This is a shame for a team who claim to have booked a place in Agola. May we need to say, as people like, you can do better when their child can not…

  73. We need to discover talent in the whole country. some of the players look tired already. pipo was that young man who almost killd a keeper at Chlis in the team on wed.?

  74. FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya is eyeing a position as an executive member of
the Confederations of African Football (CAF) at next year’s election.

Bwalya is contesting the southern region post with COSAFA president Sekatu Patel.

According to a CAF press release, Bwalya and Patel will contest one seat available to the Southern Zone of the continent.

The Emergency Committee of the executive office of CAF met on 17 November 2008, in Douala, Cameroon and endorsed the candidatures for the forthcoming elections.
    ___________________________________________________________________
From Zambia Post. Instead of concentrating on building the team this man has another agenda. Be serious!

  75. we need to disband the team b 4 its too late. We need a proper coach like Anchelotti who has expressed willingness to coach an african team at the world cup not kawayawaya ball boys/PE teachers.

  76. if anyone ever expected zambia to win in morrocco, then that person is not in tune with local football. The worst is yet to come, when the pharaohs come to that ramshackle called konkola. If ZED is going to qualify to CAN 2010 in Angola, it will more of lucky than ability. Colleagues, our football is a sham even displaying it on supersport is an embarrassment.

Kalusha Bwalya and his team unfortunately, are not equal to the task of reviving football. They only specialise in giving press statments through Erick Mwansa. No real vision and strategy on how Zambia should come out of the current crisis and how we should move forward.

  77. honestly, kalu is busy doing his own personnal business in holland and you expect the team to win?no allowances and spending 15 hours at the airport….the coaches are yet to be paid(for the last two months)…kalu and his executive raw deal!!!

  78. Zambia we can do it..its jst belief BUT for God’s sake sumbody giv us a miracle our players are asa good dead men playing football DATS f@#KED UP!! GIV ME A GUN ALREADY!!

  79. Unquestionably imagine that that you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet the simplest factor to consider of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people consider issues that they plainly do not realize about. You managed to hit the nail upon the highest and also defined out the whole thing with no need side effect , other people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
