The MMD in Mwansabombwe Constituency in Kawambwa District has advised Luapula Province Publicity Information Secretary, a Mr. Kapambwe to stop attacking party Spokesperson Ben Tetamashimba.
Constituency Youth Chairman, James Kapota told ZANIS in Mwansabombwe that his members are not happy with the recent attacks on Mr. Tetamanshimba by Mr. Kapambwe in one of the tabloids.
He said insinuating that Mr. Tetamashimba is junior compared to the party’s National Secretary, Katele Kalumba is not welcome.
Mr. Kapota said that Mr. Tetamashimba is capable of advising Dr. Kalumba and that the unfortunate attacks should not be entertained.
He added that Mr. Tetamashimba was among the prominent party members building the MMD and he cautioned all MMD cadres to stick to the party’s constitution Article 9A and 9C.

In 2001 he delivered N/Western to UPND and when Mazoka refused to appoint him as leader of the opposition he resigned and joined MMD and in 2006 the whole N/western went MMD. in 2008 TETA not only delivered N/western but aslo played a major factor in delivering central province.While Katele is a true blue i think he is part of the old MMD block that is now being phased out. I strongly believe that even if UPND and PF had formed a pact in 2008 election, RB would have won still. Reason being that a lot of pipo are skeptical, they don’t trust Sata. MMD is viewed as a national party that has embraced all tribes unlike most opposition parties that have a regional inclinations. Even in 2011, even if the opposition field 1 candidate they will still face a mammoth task to remove this regional shadow that is cast over them

Guys u have hit the nail on the Head. Pacts cant work, RB actually used his quiet diplomacy skills to send KK to convince Sata and HH to form a Pact at KKs house prior to the elections. He knew very well that if the pact is successfull MMD will win by landslide because if Sata is on top The whole southern will go MMD and if HH is on Top Luapula and Northern including major towns on CB would go MMD. you can see that while the opposition make noise on radio and TV, RB and his team are busy working on strategies you can even wonder whether these opposition have elections strategists or its one man show.
@43, By senior title I meant that its hard for one single chief to exert his influence on other chiefs because they are all at par. Its different from other regions where you have all Chiefs answerable to a paramount chief. If there was a paramount Chief a person like Teta would easily go there with few bribes and announces that the paramount chief has endorsed candidature of Rb and all subjects should obey such decree. Chitimukulu and Bwalya Chiti endorsed RB in the last elections and you saw how MMD lost in northern.Opposition should just find intelligent people to work on there election strategies and stop experimenting. I don’t like the way Zambia politics are conducted. Everyone thinks they can be president. There are more jobs than the presidency but because the president can do anything he likes, all jackals are in the race for it. Reduce presidential powers and make whoever occupies that office accontable and we shall have a decent team in govt. Not the way it today. Everyone chooses to handle the presidency according to their tastes and shapes their functions accordingly – some devise HOPE foundations others MMCI and we may yet see something emerging in the form of TB_UMODZI_KUMAWA.
Iwe mossad, the MMD won the elections not because of its popularity but because it has structures countrywide where as the opposition cant afford because of finances thus why in the developed countries they go for electrol votes or constituency vote like in Britain.

RB is now paying the price of going into a pack with Katele Kalumba and his uncle Chiluba. Because of the pack with RB to protect them Chiluba unashamedly started giving MMD salutations. Chiluba and Katele have a lot of cases to answer to together with their late friend Mwanawasa and his wife. If RB continues to protect these guy like the way he has done so far by sitting on the trueth surrounding the stealing of Zambia National Oil Company Limited (ZNOC) by Chiluba, katele and Mwanawasa and the stealing of the copper mines by Mwanawasa and his wife,RB will be charged for being a conspirator just like the postnewspapers and The task force together with ACC have come to be.

Teta is very wise, it is just that he raises issues at the time when everyone is not ready to hear them. Most of what he talks about comes to vindicate him in the long run. Teta has a lot of influence on the MMD. He made everyone pick RB when there were all kinds of mixed feelings. Teta is right to say that Katele should revise his ideas. There is no such a thing as ‘real blue’ in the MMD constitution. Katele should remember that in an agreement you dont let your feelings override the content on the agreement at any time. To talk about original members or founding members is a mere feeling in Katele’s head. The constitution which is the guinding code knows only members
If you have been working for a company for many years and you have not yielded much result, why should you complain when a new guy is promoted because he has displayed capacity to change things about the company. That is the problem with people who believe and practice magic; even a PhD will not help their thinking. They still run back to their magic whenever ideas fail them. So what would you expect from Katele? Teta has the right to speak on behalf of the party whenever asked questions by the media. He is the party spokesman by the way. The secretary is not the spokesman of the party. And if any senior person in the party brings his personal ideas outside the agreed, he will be corrected.

# 18, Engines, Teta did not deliver the whole of North-Western Province to MMD. Please check your facts. For instance MMD lost in Zambezi West and in Mwinilunga. Teta just rode on Mwanawasa’s popularity. Ask him to start a new party and see if he will take North-Western Province with him. He will certainly not.
Teta is just a good for nothing opportunist and most MMD insiders know this fact very well.
