President Rupiah Banda says government will not suspend the National Constitutional Conference (NCC).

President Banda said the NCC will continue with its deliberations until its set mandate has been fulfilled.
Mr. Banda was responding to questions from journalists on calls by some opposition politicians that government should suspend the NCC and channel the money towards the hosting of the All Africa Games slated for 2011 and solve the financial problems being faced by the mines due to the economic meltdown.
On calls for dialogue among political leaders, President Banda said he had no problem to dialogue with opposition political leaders in a bid to find lasting solutions to the problems faced by the country brought about by the global financial crisis.
Mr. Banda said calls for political leaders to meet and dialogue are welcome as government has always been ready to dialogue with all stakeholders on national issues.

# 1 today.
Why not?
poor women, dancing at the expense of production.Lets change
big title no elaboration and time frame in the speech mr presido. u always fail to be specific in what u say. ur sayings are always open ended. a leader works with specified time frame and that is what we need to hear not openended statements. all you passed is just a comment not a mandate of authority. No one will speak again its u to make things clear. the NCC for how long? what is the specified time boss. first comment
So with you Mr President it is okay to let those dander heads continue with their silly debates at the expence of poor Zambians who are dying of anger!!! Shame on you!!!
Instead of farming people are busy dancing at the airport and u have the nerve to link this #2$% to the global financial crisis may God help us all.Amen
Doh!! 8th!!! Sorry for pipo and their families who have lost their jobs. So sad.
Times are hard world over and care must be taken not to blame Government or RB.
Those women dancing for you RB are supposed to be working. How can we fight poverty when people all the time are made to line up at the airport? I wonder if they are married, otherwise which sane husband can allow such.
Be another person who knows the movement which will change Zambia;
Type as ONE Word;
|the citizens democratic party “dot” com|
See why everybody says this one word “DIFFERENT” about the politics they have.
What is the NCC deliberating?????
I may have missed something………
😡 too many chaps greedy 4 money
Hey guyz, dont you think we need Prof. Clive Chirwa to save the country of Zambia? I see no light at the end tunnel with RB & his team of villagers like Teta who seems more “knowledgeable” in i dont know with his certificate in cooperatives and now full cabinet minister of local govt. Can i be made to believe that to a cabinet minister you dont need abit reasonalbe education? Pliz help people.
Its pretty sure to me that this NCC will never agree or come up with anything as long as the allowance brings beef to THEIR table. Why should they give up that? Just make it last as long as possible.
I don’t know what they actually receive to do this job, but its not my business to find out.
But I have heard that they receive to much and don’t deliver nothing.
And I will bet a lot on that those privileges will not be exchanged against decency nor pride.
How many are they and how much mealy meal do they pull out of the mouth of those who needs it most? Annually….
I guess the crisis isn’t severe enough to stop wasting resources on the NCC. :-\”
The Central Bank of Zambia is dry after using the money for elections reliable sources from the reserve bank have disclosed. The money which was reserved for contigent plans plus those $millions spent on Levy when in hospital inclusive up keep of the family in France have also contributed to the drying up of the reserves in central Bank. RB has no capital to revive the economy due to the pressure exhibited by those greed MMD parliamentarians who were backing him to stand on MMD ticket for their salary increments. BR wanted to refuse to honor the promise but Mupo, Teta, Mpombo and others threatened to expose RB’s lies. As a result curved in to sign the most unpopular increments since 1964
The tensions in MMD are so high. this is perpetuated by pipo like Teta who thinks the ruling party should adopt dictatorship type of rule to cub those openly against the govt of unpopular BR. Chisamba MP Muteteka, Chikafwasha, Silvia Masebo, Mangande, Kalumba who were Levyrites feel they have been targeted by RB and his new found political assassins to shut them completely. The tensions if not resolved can have total impact on the MMD especially Central and Luapula provinces. Mabenga has been trying to bridge the gap but Teta doesnot see any wrong in threatening others.RB is seen as a toothless and clueless leader who has failed to stamp his authority on Teta, Mpombo, Shikapwasha, Mupo.
Kwaaliba presidado wearing such green pants this century? Olo ni jeans
ha ha ha shrek so fun I love shrek…
Good morning guys. Have a niceday
Which Zambians have embraced this embarassing NCC? Just cancell this thing its another drain on our resources.
The NCC is a gravy train for the participants;it is a waste of money. The coercion of women to dance for RB each time he returns is outmoded and serves no useful purpose. Such blatant exploitation of the masses for the entertainment of one person is deplorable.
[-(
Women dancing for the headman. This is reason I want to convince Gordon and Obama never to give to Africa.
I stopped gving to charity because of this. Instead of this headman telling these women to stop, he applauds them.
ope this global crisis lasts a few more years. :(:(:(:(:(
When prervious commissions were going round the country pipo were contributing freely. So why not stop paying these NCC members and let them instead pay to participate. I can asure you the period will be shortened.
OK TWAUMFWA.
Yaba
Which Zambians have accepted and embraced the NCC.Iwe Banda be careful kaa!!.Thats the problem when his bootlickers says yes to his nonsense, then he will say Zambians, come on Bwezani learn to use the words some Zambians coz not all zedian are happy with ci NCC cenu ico.Eish!!! ~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(
#28 what is that compoud.
LT,where are my comments? be serious please. We are commenting on these serious issues affecting the nation. Undertaker, waliya wu oblivion kwati ba Miyanda boyi!
Its better for govt to carry on with the NCC,why should we spend so much on just soccer awe!maybe if its channeled to other things yes but soccer is out of line mwe!!!
atleast we have to work out lasting solutions to this crisis we facing now.
morning baby c,matworld, rashid, nora, wisemen and everyone…May God bless you richly.
When is NCC going to wind up its mandatory work? No extensions please ba RB. Also dont parade women and children to dance for you, even you women respect yourselves. I wonder if you do dance for your husbands in the public as you’re doing to RB. Shame on you
The NCC is already in progress and it only needs to continue to its complition.
There is no need to suspend or postpone or even extend. Let the govt simply complete its constitution making mandate.
Opposition is always gona be there, but as a leader you have to be decisive because, of course, you will also have those that will not always oppose.
Life, public or private, is always faced with opposition. It may not always be people opposing you but sometimes merely ideas within you. It is in those times that your capacity shall be measured by how decissive you are, of course with precution baring in mind the place of opposing ideas.
But we have to move on as a nation.
Ban those women dancing please some of them have got husbands and busy dancing for RB please stop this nonsense that explains why there is soo much vigololo. Imagine women dancing for Brown in the UK or Bush in the USA
To tell the truth there are problems in the world today, I dont know what these ba zungus have done to their money. That is the more reason why we should learn to put sustainable measures in place and not always looking to the west for solutions. Eg we should know were our strength are and concetrate our effort on that. I dont know why we take agriculture lightly, we have copper but we fail to mine it ourselves. What does Malawi have anyway?
G Baby How areyou my dear? God bless you too. [-o<[-o<[-o<
We ve had enough of the NCC. Anything else????? ;;)
The NCC cannot be suspended at all the those people are busy enriching themselves at our expense. I doubt at all that the constitution that will produce will be any different from what we have been through in the past. Cry the beloved Zambia

#34, RB has not coerced any body to parade @ the airport. They just come. You want RB to chase them. Would you chase your supporters? Be real guys, don’t join Alice in ..We live in the real world.
This is a very African habit In Zambia it was promoted by a moron called Sata when he was Governor of Lusaka in the second Republic.
Some advice to bloggers, don’t be too negative about Zambia. The Minister of Finance was your lecturer, with a PHD in Economic, specialising in finance. Expected GDP growth for 2008 is 6.5% We are not Somalia yet. Enjoy your Christmas wherever you are!!!
#8, the people at NCC are drawn mostly from the private sector. They are from ZICA, Law Association of Zambia, Engineering Institute of Zambia, Churches, Medical Council of Zambia, Eminent Freedom fighters, political parties including PF etc..and they would not wish a rat like you to call them dander heads. Respect pliz!!
“On calls for dialogue among political leaders, President Banda said he had no problem to dialogue with opposition political leaders in a bid to find lasting solutions to the problems faced by the country brought about by the global financial crisis.
”
Appoint those opposition leaders to Parliament so that you can deliberate national issues with them there.
:d/
Ba 48′ what are you up to? who is ZICA, in fact your ZICA people have failed us as students by changing there coruses from one name to another, what more on matters of national interest?
Lol…?
#19 -Please let us not use abusive language to our leaders. Freedom is not freedom if not used wisely. Viva RB Viva MMD
