Northern Province Minister Charles Shawa has advised Zambians to give President Rupiah Banda and his administration ample time to address the challenges facing the country.
Mr. Shawa made the call in an interview with ZANIS in Kasama yesterday.
He said it was totally unfair for some people to heap the blame on the government for the current problems that have hit various sectors of the country’s economy.
Mr. Shawa said the fact that some mining companies on Copperbelt province were laying off workers did not mean government was sitting idle over the matter.
He has since urged Zambians to rally behind President Banda’s administration in order to collectively overcome the hardships facing general citizenry.
He further said government was fully committed to addressing the social ills such as poverty and disease facing the country so that its citizens could live better lives.

How much time. This is supposed to be a continuation from where Levy left.
Yes give him time, two months is not enough. He cant be judged in two months. Lets see how he will perform after three years.
Nindani uyu ali mukabbudula sure mu hot pant pa interview leaders should dress appropriate pliz not smashing looking.
president mu kabudula,zambia yasila
How can we rally behind the govt going in the wrong direction? Our govt is hiding in the name of global finacial crisis to cover up the mismanagement of the economy of the country. Two months is long enough to see if someone is goin to bring progress to the country. For how long are we goin say give them time its to early?A good leader who has a vision for the country proves it in the early stages of his term. Not even goin to Nigeria and beg for money…our leaders r hungry 4 power and not for development. We need development Nawa and not excuse. Zedians lets open our eyes nd see… We really need change :-w:-w:-w
That’s bu11sh!t. There’s no support you’re getting from me as long as Real Bu11sh!t Toadface has a bunch of thieves surrounding him. This pathetic Tadpole who’s crushing our economy and weakening investor confidence. I mean just look at the way he sits in that chair, is it a toi1et? Like he knows anything about taking a country forward. That man belongs to the game reserve with an overall and rifle in the hand. He’s a poacher-turned-game ranger-turned president. He’s running the country by trial and error. The role doesn’t suit him. No support from me and my citizens b!*ches. No way. Dream on
Hey, stopping such things as you are looking for promotion. Look at the way the Zed people are suffering.
ba no way ati so balanda bapela))) imwe at how??mwalila??
Theres no harm in supporting our president. Lets just give him the support he needs and who knows what wonders he will do. Insults won’t take us anywhere.
RB, can you start by explaining why we need new passports
I have also been wondering why we need new passports. And when do this current ones expire.
#10 ya even you guys u were told that that new passport are needed???
#12. please kindly explain as I never paid attention to that news. I just heard that we needed to change our passport but never heard of the reason why.
I dont think we need to change the passports when is the deadline?
Hope its not a money making exercise?
14.
Are you for real?
The deadline for changing the passports is Febuary.
what developmental programmes has RB outlined so far for zambians to rally behind ? I can not wait for 2011, when I take over. This is not a grandiose idea. # 2 who are you, explain yourself don`t impersonate
This new passport issue also irks me. How can a nation be changing passports every year? These new ones now are even worse because they are identical to the Nigerians – Green of all colours.
On the question of being given time, we are prepared for as long as they can tell us how they intend to turn the country round with clear milestones. The milestones are important for us to assess whether they are making progress or just buying time waiting for their unwarranted gratuity. It looks like they are now on a honey moon which Levy would never have allowed them to have. Really sad, MHSRIP.
But Zambia has become a big Joke with Wiseman Proper #17 taking over as president in 2011. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha lol!
#6,we know your exact co-ordinates,from the archives its vivid that you are still on the same IP address ,we have managed to trace you through our IP locater, soon or later you will find out.
We were told they expire on 28th Feb ’09. I compared the prices, don’t know about the rest of you guys but us here are paying alot more than what one would be paying in Zed!I think these so-called embassies abroad are out to pocket a ka new years bonus.Shouldn’t the price be a fixed one regardless of where one is in the world?I received a new one earlier in the year, this is very frustrating and costly.Going through the process again!:-w
#12 Imagine! We also need new ones, kwena its wild!
#20 Ghost Dog, so what if you know my coordinates? So what if I’m on the same IP address, of course I’ll be on the same IP address, why would I want to change it? I’m still leaving in the same place. and sooner or later I will find out? What will I find out, my coordinates? I already know them. I’m failing to understand your posting, are you trying to say you work for LT? or that you are from government? To be honest your comment is a bit lame.
#23.
I don’t think you understand the implications you pose to yourself by insulting the president on a daily basis. Tone down with your insults otherwise you are just inviting all sorts in your life.
|-)
Who is the president here. The chinaman or the half naked chap? Is a holiday not enough time? You guys are buullsh!tt!ng in your offices with the tax-payers money and you say you need more money. More time means more money-time’s money. RB, so you thought presidency were a jolly ride. Come on, man! Jump around and feed the masses. You chaps without even having worked you paid yourselves more money. We need the results right now or fccuuk off plot 1.
Who said people should support RB? Why should we give him support when he and his cabinate never listen to the cries of Zambians. This attitude of sopport will just make his governmnet lazy. They get paid to do a job and if they cant do it let them resign. Why should we give them solutions to the problems they created?
Mr.RB asked for all these demands,He told the Zambians he was going to continue the legacy of Mr.Mwanawasa a legacy of high unemployment lack of accountability and tax payer waste of money on cases against his enemies cases with no end in sight.Mr Banda sir you should have seen the economic focus before you went on the campaign where are the 4,000 jobs, The other problem is our poor journalists didn’t even ask you how you were going to create these jobs.A high school newspapers in rural America has more substance than all the Zambian papers put together,What a shame.
Has anyone noticed that one of Prez RB’s trainers is untied (the leg closest to the Chinaman)? Ba RB balina Nchafu monga niyopishilako ma dealers ba Viagra when ordering.
Ba Bwezani he looks like he is asking the Chinaman whether he can order just one box of viagra or he has to order a container load from China.:o
Niba bwezani, baleta nzelu za mu UNIP.
🙁
RB cannot be given more time to improve the economy because in his all addresses he has expressed happiness with all situations:
he is currently happy with Luangwa National Park therefore there is no need to improve it according to him, he is very happy with millie-meal prices that is why he is on holidays, basically RB is happy with everything in the country with the economy so RB does not see any room for improvement.
So why is RB sending other people to ask for more time on his behalf when there is no room for economic improvement? That also shows lack of confidence if RB cannot ask for more time himself.
RB’s lack of confidence is even reflected in his dressing. I have never seen a president wearing an underpant in public, let alone an African president. RB was even happy with his image builders, are they the ones who tought him to be wearing underpants in public? Did RB’S image builders not remind him that without socks his feet and shoe stink? I wonder how that China man is survviving the stench.
RB’s lack of confidence even took him to beg for money in Nigeria.
Can we please have dignified presidents in Africa. Especially the Southern part of Africa.
All I see here are babies crying:((
Sorry chaps dad`s not listening. Gone to sleep! |-)
Calm down guys. Fimo fyena spare your dozzy president.
Most of you people did not see Blair with his wife on holiday in the Carribeans did you?
RB looks scruffy yes but please the man is on holiday. He had to be woken up when this choncoli turned up. Leave him alone. With a bag full of viagra what else do you expect from grand pa when we heard he went with his grand daughter! :d
Time to achieve anything must be measured, not open ended. And as has been said above, this is a continuation period. The only change that has occured is in personnel.
It is not time to rewrite and reformulate the company/country policies and constitution. It is not time for RB also to come up with “his own” vision for Zambia.
If someone completely “new” was able to promise recordable change for the better in 90 days, why are not seeing better change with a continuing regime? We do not want to be asked to give more time – the time we have run out of. Ala kale twayamba ukupela time.
At first we were asked to tighten our belts, which thing we did for three consecutive regimes. Nanomba?
Gentlemen and a lady, what do you expect to come from RB ? Is he not suffering from dementia what time are we being asked to give him? Perhaps for his disease to progress. #19 watchout you will be the next bulaya.
kuliye vibuudula vazelu my zed sure? Prez kuomeka so? Ata tuna taki (trainers) sure? Nchafu monga mitiko yapa market? Misebanya ishi, nako ka Jackie chan chikwela since yesterday kamoneni akalifumo kwati kalefyaya uku suunda
#10, I for one do not care the hoot about their new passport.. they can go to hell for all I know…
bloody hell—–???? #:-s:-h:-h:-h:-h:-h:-h:-h:-h
If you are living abroad chances are that come end February 2009 you will be walking around with an expired passport. Even when you have paid and sent in the forms I don’t think these embassies will have them ready back by that time. There is terrible inefficiency and the fact that everything has to be done in Lusaka.
Mr Rigged Ballot, the only support you’ll get from me is a pack of diapers to go under your blue shorts, that cholera outbreak you’re ignoring will come for you.
3,4,32, You guys you make me wonder on which planet you are coming from. Are you coming from Mars? You have never seen a President in a short? Didn’t you pictures of late LPM in shorts at Mfuwe? Haven’t you seen George Bush, Tony Blair, in shorts? Be realist and grow up you chaps!!
it’s phychological, people did put these guy in power they put themselves in power,so how do you expect support from people who hv never liked or voted 4 u??
By the way most of you guys were out of the country at the time of elections , so obviously never voted for cycle mata nor RB. This I can deduce from your queries about the passport. Anyway I got mine before boarding the british airways , the guys at pass port office have improved in their operations it took me just 2 days to have my green passport.
#44 Keep your passport and stop bragging about it. You need a maroon one mate!
Zambians, losing a president mid-term is not the best thing any nation can go through. RB may have had his own ideas if he were elected from the beginning but he has to compromise with those who served in LPM’s govt longer than him if he is to maintain his grip on power. So please do not expect him to come up with radical ideas overnight, he is also worried about people who may jump his ship and bring him down – African politics for you. So bear with him and support him as he gets to terms with his new role as a ‘heir’ to the late president. It is not easy. I guess he does not even sleep properly as he needs to be sure of security as well. Bear with him, for at least one year mwebantu
Zedian passport is no big deal men.It can be done within 2 hrs
Nabena aba how can you give an interview in a bombasa, awe sure
“PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda has cut short the holiday outing of his older children that accompanied him to Mfuwe in Eastern Province following public pressure”.
THE MOST WRONG PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA. ZAMBIA IS REALLY SINKING SO LOW TO EVEN VOTE FOR RB AS PRESIDENT. HE IS EVEN BLOWING HIS NOSE IN PUBLIC WITH NO HANKIE, IMAGINE. YOU MEAN TAX PAYERS’ MONEY IS NOT ENOUGH TO AFFORD YOU AN HANKIE?
GUYZ, WHAT ABOUT HAVING A CHINAMAN AS ZAMBIA’S PRESIDENT? HE LOOKS MORE PRESENTABLE THAN RB, WHO IS IN UNDER-PANTS.
Mu UNIP munalibe kupunzila ma manners? How can one use bare hands kuchosa ma mila, sure. RB, utisabanya, big time. Guyz, can you check the post.
“CHIEF government spokesperson Lieutenant General Ronnie Shikapwasha yesterday said it is not possible for the MMD government to guarantee opposition Patriotic Front (PF) that they will implement whatever proposals made”
shikapwasha, PF did not ask for any advice. Its MMD/UNIP (that includes you) that needed it. SATA-PF has done you a service. Its up to you chaps to take it or leave it.
**==PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda has cut short the holiday outing of his older children that accompanied him to Mfuwe in Eastern Province following public pressure.**==
Such is your president, taking all his children for a holiday when Zambians are losing their jobs and food is running out on them in different parts of the country. And yet somebody says, give him a chance? A chance to sleep and party? I wish he could not come back to Lusaka and remain in Mfuwe! Since he is nyama-soya, the crocs would feast on him squeezing out his fat thighs and nose.
“FORMER Zambia Security Intelligence Services (ZSIS) director general Xavier Chungu has started serving a six-month sentence after failing to raise K500 million that the court ordered him to pay as penalty for jumping bail”
SIX MONTHS, ONLY. OR IS IT A WARM UP FOR THE REAL CASE IN CONNECTION WITH FTJ? WE HOPE IT IS JUST A WARM UP.
:)>-:-w:-\”:-?:d
ZEDIANS, JUST KEEP TO ONE TOPIC, `RB`. HE IS IN NO POSITION AND MIND TO LEAD THIS NATION.HE HAS SURROUNDED HIMSELF WITH CRIMINALS THE LIKES OF VJ,TETA AND CHILIPAMUSHI. HE HAS GONE FURTHER TO APPOINT AN `INFECTED` VICE PRESIDENT FOR INTERPRETATION OF THE LAW TO KEEP HIM IN POWER BEYOND 2011.HE HAS NO HEART FOR THE PEOPLE AND HE IS AS CORRUPT AND AS HIS CROONIES.
When you are good, you are good. what time does Lundani want? in my opinion, Lundani has already failed cause the chap is too weak and sleepy to command a nation.
zambia is too much BS.
Let the bigge alone, try sata if think is the solution.
YAK RUBBISH..BA LT ANYTHING INTERESTING…
IS THIS CHINESE ANOTHER IMAGE BUILDER?
#49 THANDO. OK. Due to public pressure? How about reducing Ministers, MPs and your (Mr President) allowances. Do we have to put more pressure on this issue aswell. WE WANT TO SEE SERIOUS COMMITMENTS, LIKE SACRIFICING CERTAIN THINGS.
At twenty a man is full of fight and hope. He wants to reform the world. When he is seventy he still wants to reform the world, but he knows he can’t, thats RB 4u
Interview mufwelefye bamba [-x . yangu yee.
When reminded that members of the public were particularly concerned that President Banda took his older children for a holiday and that their bills would be footed by taxpayers, Mubanga said the President might have wanted to consult them.
“Maybe President Banda went with his elderly children for a holiday because he wanted to consult them about something. You know what, running a country requires one to consult widely even among family members,” argued Mubanga. UNCLE MAYBIN DON’T EMBARASS YOURSELF.
“I don’t agree with PF that we should guarantee them that whatever advice they give to the MMD should be implemented because we might not agree on their advice as a party,” he said.
“Some of the advice that they might give us may not be in our interest.”
Lt Gen Shikapwasha said the best way for the PF and the MMD was to sit down to discuss issues affecting the country.
GUYS, THIS IS GARBAGE SPEWING FROM REV. RONALD SHIKAPWASHA’S MOUTH. YOU DON’T NEED A DICTIONARY FOR THE WORD CONTRADICTION.
Iyo ku Africa yalilila. This man was going round the country telling villagers he was going to continue where LPM left. To be honest we probably didn`t even need elections (but the constitution). He was vice president of MMD.
Unless you are telling me the much talked about (in Africa) manifesto has changed.
At the end of 3 years he will say I didn`t have enough time. Look you Zambians, it is the party MMD which was voted into power in 1991. Infact they have over stayed. Ngani kumbi ngani zwa by now.
But they know what happens when you lose an election in Africa. I am afraid Zambians are stuck MMD for sometime. :d
How many pipo wil cal 4 suport 4 RB, cant they c tht somethings cant b forced? If the man aint geting the required suport, its a message from God tht he is not wanted so can he do a graceful thing lyk resign? Yaba, RB aint u tired of being insulted? Its getting boring tht ur litle boys kip toking 4 u,wat hapened to ur voice? By the way u said u r continuing Levy’s legacy…hmmm show us now not give excuses alapapa
!!!
We should give the president ample time to enjoys a ka holiday with his clan. My foot! Hmmmmm! public pressure really works. Next we will gonna kick him out of plot one!! :o)
This country never seem to stop making jokes, what time do we have and what time do we need to give RB. We are simply behind time. If President Elect Obama who hasn’t yet been sworn in, has already started showing signs of working then what are we waiting for?
Mr President Sir, we simply don’t have time dont look at what you need to do in three years, lets look at what we have done in four decades of our Zambia.
Bloggers
Never mind Mr Shawa, he is the #3 bootlicker after Mpombo and Teta respectively. :d/
imwe, the RB wants to show us his six pack like barack obama. unfortunately all we can see are moobs, LOL
#72
He had the guts to tell his ZNBC reporters that Obama’s inagural speech was similar to his…meaning the later copied his speech!!!!! :((
#71 Pinkly steady now, there is a wum from South Africa on these boards who calls himself booty licker. He went to South Africa straight from Chipata. He never had an account in Zambia.
The scumbag didn`t know Zambia has net banking. He ended up embarassing himself in front of thounds of people. I do not think he will be happy that you have not included him in the top 3.:d
Ala tunasheko insele bane. Let us criticise wisely yes, and offer suggestions sometimes, but we should not disrespect our elders, it is so not Zambian.
Regarding the topic at hand, only words of wisdom from our leaders will instill our confidence in them. Do not show us despair even before the economic crunchc crosses the ocean
#73 ati Obama’s acceptance speech was similar to RB’s? Big men like the Rev Jesse Jackson shed tears, I also shed a tear just listening to Barack Obama. RB? He’ll never move me with his uninspiring speeches.
#74
Hmmmmm!Really? How did i miss that?? OK in this case, Shawa’s ranking has dropped to 4th position, and then our un-named buddy goes to 3rd position! thats better huh!!! 😉
No time for RB. He is already exhibiting failure. Any don’t like the guy anyway. I don’t care what you say
Shame on most of you.
RB is doing the right he is having quality time with his family. He is being the ideal father and role model.
You all should emulate RB, then I gurantee you that you will raise decent, uprighti responsible children.
Golyati
Morning Papa, may i ask you a question…
#80 UZILESS (USELESS)
#80 You have nt come back to say you visited the currys website. w w w. cu rr ys dot co dot uk. Scroll down to home phones.
Mr Shawa the only people who can give RB support are those in Sinjembela,Lufwanyama,Shan’gombo,Mpongwe,Sikongo and other rural dwellers who understand better the policies of RB.As for me and my pals we will support Sata.
#80 Taking kids on holiday makes one a role model!
Mmm
Where do we start from??
Honestly speaking, how do u support some one who is doing nothing? people are lacking what to tel us.I thought support is needed whn people are doing something!**==
#81 Pinkly
Certainly my dear
Golyati why are you running away? I will find that article where you embarrased yourself about phones and fax machines and paste the crap you wrote.
<:-p
#8 3rqu
If taking your children for a holiday does not make you the role model father in the EYES OF OTHER FATHERS and CHILDREN then, I guesst what makes YOU a role model is to take your heavily vandalised and vulgar girlfriend out for a holiday leaving out your children and dutiful wife.
We are in problems Zedians its war!!!! 😮
#56 you are talking about RB being surrounded by corrupt people like VJ, Teta and Chilipamushi. I seem to be missing something whos is this Chilipamushi and how does he come in?
#89 Anonymous
Let me assist you by restating what I said on the land phones.
A basic land phone does not require electricity to operate. When there is load shedding or power outage it does not affect the simple landphones. When your aunt in Chilenje experiences load shedding she is still able to phone out and recieve calls. However sets which have extension and fax functions get affected becauses these functionalities are powered by electricity.
We just have to support him.
It is for our nation’s good that we support him.
Can someone tell me the advantages of not supporting him.
I will will give you the advantages of giving him the support.
Take this, for example; you are in a plane and you have been in air for 20 minutes and you journey is suppose to take 3 hours. Someone tells you that in his opion the pilot is not qualified. Will you stand up and start to shout at the pilot and wish to beat him up, or you will take your cool and wish him and yourself a safe trip and landing?
My friend should you decide to start shouting at the pilot and want to beat him up, you are simply preparing your own catastrophe.
Golyati have you visited the currys website? Please do if you have not you are on the net for God`s sake! They are simple things not faxes. Why are you thick.
People in diaspora please help this thick man understand that we do have phones which if there is no power they are not going to work.. Please!:(( :((
They are not faxes Golyati. Please spare us your ignorance. I am still looking at your s i l l y comments. :((
lets pray for our country,if God has not appointed this man he wont last, and if he has,he will.
#95 Anonymous
My dear anonymous phone your sister at her home in chilenje on the landline over the weekend. Ask her to swith off power from the mains and you will discover that your conversation will still go ahead and the line will be un interrupted.
I dont know how much I have to simplify to make you understand. By the way what are you doing for a living? You must be a removals man or a reposession man
#95 (#97) I am sure you mean cordless phones? Yes, They don’t work if there is no power, but the conventional ones do work of course.
This is because the base station has to be connected to a power point.
#92 Chilipamushi is a PS at Commerce. He must have been a lecturer at CBU.

ako kanono ba nevers thank you.
Pinkly haven`t you seen phones which use power?
102
I have seen both which you use power and those which dont!
There you go Golyati. Thanks Pinkly.
Case closed now Golyati.
There are home phones which use power. Just because you have never seen one in Mumbwa doesnt mean they are not there.
aBanda Kabudula sent his children back to Lusaka to sort out the numerous orders that Robert Hudson (Z) Ltd and Allenwest have received not that he listened to the people’s complaints about the Nenanic/Leahnic clan going with him on holiday.
#97 Golyati they dont work when you switch off power.
I am out now. Hope you have a happy new year. But try not being thick next time especially over things you do not know. :-\”:-\”
ako kanono ba nevers. Has he sent them back?
# 106 Anonymous
There is a difference between a cordless phone and an ordinary landline. The phone at curry.co.com is a cordless DECT Phillips phone. What is connected to power as ba Nevers has explained is the base. The phone it self has a battery.
I repeat a simple ordinary land phone does not operate with electricity.
When we shout Pabwato you shoot us down and when we support RB you shoot us down again. Zambia is just a big mess.
Before the elections you were saying let RB stabilise the country and just two months in you are not happy with what you wanted. You wanted peace and you have got it, so stop crying and sleep in the bed you made yourselves.
Golyati it is not just one phone. They are many and they basically work the same. It is not curry.co.com. No wonder you only found one phone there.
That aside Golyati, I have a home phone (call it cordless if you wish) which if the base is not plugged in, it won`t work. Whether cordless or not it is still a home phone which is not what you were arguing about. The base is the one that gets plugged in alrigt. But, if you unplug it or there is a power cut, the hand set wont work. Now you are making me say things I do not like saying on MBs. :d:d:d
Learn to accept things Golyati. I do not blame you though!
Cheers Golyati and take care
he is just fine in that attire, Zambians there is nothing wrong after all maybe he just came from the Jim another good thing.
Icee but what connection has Chilipamushi got to do with VJs and the Tetas?
#6 Be wise, dont take things personal.Bwezani is going to do a good job.He just assumed office and get it from me,the man has a vision for zambia and not what you are insuinating. Dont be an Armchair critic with no practical solutions. Bwezani yas my support ’cause i believe in him. The same happened to Mwanawasa and what he did is there for everyone to see including you. Or it that you havent been home since you came to russia?
#84,dont live in denial. This is fact,Sata will never be president of Zambia.Ask chiluba, he will tell you why he never chose him in 2001 and again chose to supprt Rb int he recent by-elections. Sata’s Cv is there for everyone to see.its dirty man,and besides the man is a dictator who when once voted will become another mugabe till he drops dead like conte of guinea. As a zambian i wont allow a populist in sata to be a president period!!!
Am #3 again I asked who the man in kabudula was because I did not recognise him to learn its our president, he looks young and gogeous keeping up appearance.
What a task it must be to run a country and live with all the insults and taunts and jeers. I would not want to be in that old man’s shoes.
Best wishes to Zambia, her troubles are mammoth!
