THE ceremonial opening of the third session of the 10th National Assembly will take place on January 16, 2009.

Clerk of the National Assembly, Doris Mwinga, said this in a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday.

Parliament adjourned sine die on November 28, 2008, to allow members of Parliament to go to their respective constituencies and take part in farming with their electorate.

The House considered a total of 160 questions, 19 motions to adopt sessional committees, six ministerial statements, 23 annual reports from various Government institutions and three bills which came for re-consideration and adoption of the supplementary budget for 2008.

I like that. But unfortunately they all live in Lusaka. What a shame!

  2. Pinkly na credit crunch iyi! I wish LPM (MHSRIP) was alive! Pantu they need their back sides kicked. Ask them to pay back whatever they owe quickly.

  3. They should go back there not for fun but to seek new ways of minimising poverty, avoiding more job losses , new strategy of dealinng with the global crunch and the like. We want contructive debates, not debates of more salary increaments for this year. :o)

  4. A good government is one which sees physically the day to day living of its people. A good MP, should strive to visit the people he/she represents.
all leadership is given by God, but a leader chooses whether to be led by God, or by their own desires.

We should remember that we shall held accountable for all we are responsible over on the judgement Day.

  5. This is fun !!Lol….

Am aslo tired of Zed but I have told myself to keep on having hope that one day things will change. I have started investing back home through my family business but its a long shot but if all us in the diaspora could do that we can change Zambia even if the govt is so mean on local investors. Now stop crying.

  25. I know it pains so much when you see other countries are more developed than your country. You wonder what curse the country is in. OR is it that we have a group of leaders who are just so traditionally dull in their minds. I think the Zambian culture is to blame as well.

  26. Us Zambians are very educated and are hard workers only in other peoples countries, I wonder why. We have a govtment that is lazy and so its people have adopted the same attitude. Well RB said he wants to develop a nationa of hard working people but he has a long way to go.

  27. #61. Sarah Jones
I agree with you that us Zambians are educated but lazy in our country, yet very hardworking in other countries. That is very true.
Now while I agree that goverments in Zambia are not hardworking, I don’t agree that Zambians are lazy because they have been made so by their governments. It is the opposite which is true, Zambians are lazy and as a result they have also made governments that are lazy.
The Zambian people are not a product of the government, rather it is the government that is a product of the Zambian people.
We choose leaders from amongst ourselves, and if we have a cracky attitude, then the govt we will make will that of a cracky attitude.

  28. The first Performance appraisal on this Govt by the Zambian people will be held on 1st Feb 09 based on the 3 months probation period. The second performance appraisal will be held 1st May 09 based on the 6 months probation period afterwhich the Zambian people will decide based on the outcome whether to ask them to resign honourably or if the performance is positive then a yearly performance appraisal will be conducted on 1st November of each year until the elections in 2011.This will apply to every Govt that will ever rule Zambia.LT please come up with topics relevant to these assessments on the due date to give an opportunity to Zambians to fairly & objectively assess the Govt.

  29. Anonymous from Norway, you are wacky. Learn to solve personal problems before blogging anything. By the way, do you have a girl friend that side? If you had one, you wouldnt behave like this coz she will pump logic in you. I know norwegian girls are good advisers, i challenge you to find one instead of venting your frastrations on this lovely blog.
