FAZ erred in procedure on Mayuka’s transfer

Share

Sports Minister, Kenneth Chipungu  has told Parliament that the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) erred in  procedure by issuing the International Transfer Certificate  of  Emmanuel Mayuka without the consent of Kabwe Warriors.

The Minister further said FAZ contradicted its own regulation of not interfering in contracts negotiations  by issuing the transfer certificate before Kabwe warriors and Maccabi Tel Aviv could reach a consensus.

He added that FAZ did not verify  all the documents required for them to issue the certificate but relied on telephone reports that Mayuka had signed the contract.

Mr. Chipungu made the remarks in a Ministerial statement in Parliament today, on Emmanuel Mayuka’s transfer report  from Kabwe Warriors to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The Minister  maintained that there were a lot of irregularities in the way FAZ handled the football transfer of Mayuka to an Israeli club.

He said that an Ad hoc committee set up by National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) to investigate the issue recommended in their report to him that there were irregularities in the transfer especially that the player was a minor.

He also said no money has been received by Kabwe Warriors concerning the transfer of the player adding that the signature have indicated that someone forged the signature of the player.

The Minister said he  has directed the National Sport Council of Zambia (NSCZ)  to institute some disciplinary measures against those who were involved in the transfer of the player.

He said the disciplinary measures are in line with the NSCZ Act 15 which spells suspension as punishment to erring associations or clubs.

He has urged the sports council to take necessary measures and ensure that appropriate measures are followed in regularizing transfers.

  1. FAZ charge $5000 dollars before issuing ITCs which is not part of FIFA and this is not even recorded in their annual financial reports. Where does the money go?

  2. Uyu mwaiche is a news maker!!Namu parliament ministerial statements…Everyday..ninshi ala teya sana??Muli ifipompo muli uyu mwaiche??Ba pastor,ba mp,ba minister bonse..na ba NCC bala landapo nomba?Nga Simataa?LOL
    in typical LT fashion..I SMELL A RAT!!!HAHAHAHA

  3. This is so embarrassing. How can our parliament sink so low to discuss Mayuka’s transfer. There are more important national issues to be handdled than that.

  4. Seems like they do not have other important issues to debate in parly. Imagine a the Britsh Sports minister, or any other for that matter, getting involved with transfer issues!! Keep politics out of football!!

  5. Leave Kalu and Mayuka alone, can someone cheat a young boy in Zambia eg 12 year one. Boys in Zed are conmen these days so, I DOUBT Mayuka saga. It is only that someone who was supposed to eat was left out thus the noise.

  6. Akapondo #16 stay out of this, you know nothing about the politics of Zambian Football ( Association). You better just listen to people that are well versed on the ground to comment.

  7. FAZ has a problem. The problem is kalusha. He is big headed, he thinks he knows everything when he does not.

He is treated with kid gloves because of his past. Kalusha failed as a National coach and now he wants to destroy Zambian football. Bane, there is a big difference between being a VERY GOOD player and being an administrator. Just like a very bright student does not necessarily make a good lecturer/teacher. Just look at his choice of National coach. Zambia is now rated 72+++ in the world – Why??

  8. who’s really at fault in this mayuka saga? is it kalu warriors or mayuka himself? imagine the british parliament debating on beckam & his posh spice! ridiculous!

  9. You gentlemen talking about parliament debating the issue. Let us not forget that FAZ is a public office and that most of the funding is from govt. So as long as FAZ remains funded by govt Parliament that represents people should be allowed to debate this issue. The thing is British or European football is a private business and so things are not debatable but football in Zambia.

  10. chi zimandola #17.i was trying to deflate your ego but LT seems to be on your side
By blocking my thread.well, insted of parading that degree of ignorance in you on this blogg, can’t you go hunting for a fourth job to help you withstand the economic crunch.i feel pity for you poor soul.typical chipulukusu boy

  11. What disciplinary action are they going to take on this erring officials, they have already chewed the money realised from mayuka, all you need to do is to find out where the money is since kabwe warriors hasn’t benefited anything over their player and displine those involved by taking them to court, so that they explain what went wrong. :d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/

  12. Those of you talking about British Parly debating transfer saga, Beckham, Posh Spice, etc grow up!! You can’t compare England FA and our FAZ. FA is a very independent body that does not get ANY funding from British govt. FAZ is funded by govt, tax payer’s money, your hard earned money that you pay as tax.The huge salaries that Kalu gets as FAZ President comes from govt. When national team goes to any tournament govt releases money. Hence our Parly has a responsibility to debate FAZ.

  13. #23 you might want to take serious precautions when talking about Kalu, the last time I tried to bring to the attention of this forum that Kalusha is not the best thing to happen at FAZ, I was told off and that I was jeolousy that he was taking the limelight and not me. Well the results are there for all to see. The George Lwandamina side that was playing RSA on Wed, played better soccer than this Kalus psychophant of a coach he hired.

  14. #24 Anynonimous You are right. Mr Kalusha Bwalya is over venerated so much that he thinks he can get away with murder.

  15. 1st thing – kalu is threatening Zambians that he will take the issue to FIFA, his going to tell fifa that they have been charging $5000 (unaccounted) for iTC? Kalu was a great player and great on the pitch leader but his has no idea what it takes to run football affairs. His killing the zambian game

  16. Guys please don’t bring english FA inot this – you have no idea what a mess football business is in the England. How many times do they fire and hire coaches and they still paying past coaches for breach of contract sven, steve etc the agents and coaches and their deals – what makes a difference in england is an effective crime correcting system and there no Kalus in england, who are too big to be challenged

  17. Lost miserably – the cosafa one he had to vote for himself but lost too. He want more power but doesn’t know what to do with it. How can he even think of a higher office before doing the job at FAZ

  18. kalusha and Munaile, there are not good administrator. Ever since they taken over FAZ every thing has been in disarry. They terminated the contract of Patrick, who was doing fine at that time, n brought in toothless Renard a PE coach. They are just interested in money nothing else, how could they be involved in transfer of the kid without giving proper guidance. The punishement should be a suspension for the period of two year and demotion to serve as committee members if they think that is too much let them resign on moral grounds so that ka munaile start serving his constituency n ka kalu go ku fifa period. WHAT A SHAME

  19. I feel for Kalu & Munaile. It seems People are not seeing good out of Mayuka’s transfer.I thot the Minister should have been planning on how he will revamp sports in schools(together with the Ministry of Education) so that we can produce another Mayuka.THE MORE PLAYERS WE HAVE IN EUROPE IN BETTER LEAGUES,THE BETTER OUR FOOTBALL SHALL BE COZ,WE DO NOT HAVE INFRASTRUCTURE HERE.Look at Rwanda!,it is currently hosting the Under-20 Afcon, why?.We cant even afford to host a COSAFA under-20,and the Minister & Mr.Julius Sakala are busy spending on committes to try & witch hunt about Mayuka’s move.I wish all the Guys who played at the World Cup in Canada where now playing in Europe!.

  20. Just saying FAZ did or didn’t do this is not news any more, we’ve heard that a 100 times. Identify and deal withe culprits, do the right thing & let Mayuka play his futbo with a free mind. Sit Kabwe Warriors and FAZ down and find a way forward.

  21. I just logged on and was reading your comments, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls who are part of this interacive site.Well, the MAYUKA saga will go on so long FAZ remains stubborn and arrogant. We are talking about our soccer here, something we hold dear to our hearts.Am disappointed with Number 11 MUKULU MPUNO’s comment that there are better issues that parliament can debate on than the MAYUKA saga. Are you aware the amount of damage KALU and his minions have caused to the image of Zambian soccer because of this saga.

This saga is corruption at grassroots and am suprised that upto now,Transparent International Zambia has not said anything,ACC is quite as well. There was no transparency.

  22. ALL of you like #9 , go to zambianfootball.net, under the heading “MUYUKA PROPELS MACCABI TO CUP FINAL” .He scored the only goal of the match. This boy is “bad” on target ,the world saw him in Canada during world youth soccer championship 2008.

  23. FAZ is corrupt through and through. How do you explain the endless reappointment of solly pandor as the National team manager. What skills has solly pandor got??? Has he ever played active football??? There are indegenous genuine Zambians who have played competitive football and have never been given an opportunity to serve the national team.Zambians think about that. Its all business !!!!
