Siliya dissolves ZAMTEL board

Share

Government has with immediate effect dissolved the boards for Zamtel, National Airports Corporation Limited and Zambia Railways Limited.

Communications and Transport Minister, Dora Siliya says the boards for the three parastatals have been dissolved in national interest.

Ms. Siliya says the move has also been necessitated to re-align and improve operations and performance of the three parastatals.

She has however commended all the members of the boards in the parastatals for the contributions they made during their tenure of office.

This is contained in a press statement released to ZNBC news in Lusaka, Monday.

And the National Union of Communication Workers has urged government to quickly find an equity partner to re-capitalise ZAMTEL.

Union President Patrick Kaonga said there should be no further delay in securing an equity partner because ZAMTEL is on the verge of collapsing.

Mr. Kaonga told ZNBC news in Lusaka that his union fully supports Communication and Transport Minister Dora Siliya’s stance over the partial privatisation of ZAMTEL.

He advised Zambians against politicising the impending partial disposal of ZAMTEL.

Mr. Kaonga also appealed to ZAMTEL employees to remain calm as the future of their company is being determined.

The Union had previously opposed the partial privatisation of ZAMTEL, one of the few surviving parastatals in Zambia.

  1. The next time any of you will make it as ministers, you will have the same “prerogative” to appoint and dissolve boards. Nothing sinister and nothing newsy. Just routine operations of a ministry, if u get my drift.

  2. Just been told that even state house is on the list to be privatised? The only thing that will remain is the Fire Brigade.

  3. Any way crap happens. Dora was a pretender at Znbc and how she jumpd into MMD was somthng questionable. The argument here is how Zamtel is being sold if u read the full stories, i do not think some comments coming from bloggers u wud think twice b4 writting them.Dora disolvs All those boards to put pipo the want as board members in whoz interest?

  4. This is really serious, i guess she has her own `bululus’ she wants to incorporate in the system.
just hope her whole clan wont be jailed when she leaves office

  5. cont from # 9

Dora wud have hired Price Waterhouse or Deloitte why did the contract a foreign company to pay as much as $2 million wen we wud hav paid far less than that from our local compitent Auditor.
Try to seach on Google seach engine and tell me the reputation this RP Capital Partners of Cayman Islands has done, wer the officers ar held this is a kama small shop full of crooks. The came to Zambia never wanted to sleep in Zambia rumor has it that the refused to sleep in hotels in ndola claiming they wer dirty

  6. Why are you privatising when everyone else is nationalising? Count on me i will invest in zamtel, deplete the assets and then do a runner.

If you ve run out of ideas of stealing in this tough economic crisis, this is not the way to go, chiluba did the same and left the nation on its knees. stop the rot,I know you are out of cash to lavish you greed life style.

  7. We are failing to move with time. Zamtel has been flat and always lagging behind 20 years. If Partial privatisation will improve things then be it. But lets not completely privatise.

  8. Cont from 14

Zamtel had also to pay for the flights every day from ndola to lusaka to sleep and report the following day to assess Zamtel in Ndola coz that wer Hq is.
The way Gvt awarded this contract or the (Mou) Dora signed is also something Attorney General ,Michael Sata, H H and many other Zambians ar questioning how this country is being run. I wud compare RB to Kalusha and Dora with M. Chilemena the FAZ scandle.

God be with all Zambia railways,National Airports and Zamtel employees for wat the ar going thru and forgive and pray for yo enemies. [-o<

  9. I have free gym equipment if Dora is interested I will FEDEX it. That will help restore some self confidence in herself once she drops afew kilos. Right now her frustrations are shining through all the rubbish she is engaging in. How do people there put up with all this nosense.

  10. I am pretty sure that some biggie has got the kickbacks and ignorant Siliya is being used as a sacrifical pawn.

Careful Siliya or you end up in jail like FTJ’s pawns.Vuka :-ss

  11. RB, Siliya and your supporters, you are putting the Zambian Security at risk by privatising ZAMTEL. Instead of privatising ZAMTEL, you should encourage NEW investment in the Telecomm sector. THINK TWICE BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!

  12. Dissolving the boards is good for the companies have been non-performing to expectations.

On “Union President Patrick Kaonga said there should be no further delay in securing an equity partner because ZAMTEL is on the verge of collapsing”, I disagree with this assessment. Just put in a new board that will run ZAMTEL efficiently and see to it that all bills owed to it by the MMD GRZ and other consumers of its services are collected in good time to use that money to sustain the operatons of the company.

However, I will wait and see what President RB Banda’s Administration is really up to on this case and the other two that have been mentioned.

  13. Lets follow the right procedure in all this, lets not be in a hurry for nothing. Dora should be warry of SHREK, he might just be using her & throw her away later. Tekanya Mukwasu Dora, chenjela nacho choyofyela wana ka!!!

  14. Desperate times call for desperate measure bwana Minister.Fili uko tuleya.Ala bwafya.I am sure this is just a scapegoat to dissolve Boards of NAC and ZR.The whole idea is to shut up any dissention on the Zamtel Board of the way she is handling the Asset valuation of Zamtel and the subsequent allocation of a contract to a sole foreign entity. Are you telling me that 44 years after independence, Zambian consultants cannot do a good job at evaluating Zamtel assets. We simple shoot ourselves in the foot.$2m to pay for such an exercise when Zamtel is probably only worth $1.2m.What mathematics?

  15. Govt has failed to run Zamtel, and only use it to fundraise for MMD party..just sell the Zamtel to zambians and responsible investors..It is time.
just like Zesco must also be sold to private businesses

  16. Siliya`s political days are numbered. We know that she is doing all this under instruction from RB,but i only hope she knows very well what she get her self into.ZAMTEL will haunt her for the rest of her life.

  17. Dora did not have the guts to dissolve these boards when LPM was alive. Now that he is gone, its open season for all. Next thing Simbao will dissolve all medical boards and Musokotwane nayena fimbi. Yaba, LPM, i miss you mwee.

  18. She has said its in the public interest and that these institutions are in a dire state. On another account she commends the boards for their input. Why are we celebrating failure isnt she supposed to be mad as i am at this level of incomepetence from the boards? Or need i expect more from a country run by news readers and party cadres….maybe its not fair to expect so much out these people you know!! lets get brainy people up in these offices and arrest the sinking of the motherland. my 2 cents of fury….

  19. I guess she is trying to appoint relatives and friends to those boards. Wait and see. We are listening and we are watching.

  20. Zambia is in trouble.Bloggers please read the issues raised by the attorney general in his advice to Siliya over ZAMTEL before u end up supporting what u don’t understand.LPM we miss u…

  21. Iwe Dola, or Dora. Be careful the problems at Zambia Railways Limited are much great than you are thinking right now. Partly the Rail System of Zambia is a major contributing factor to all this. I am waiting for any politician who can stand firm to condemn the RSZ, with all their mismanagement of our countries rail assets. LPM tried but was kept shat. Others also were dealt with. Could this be the reason why RSZ has strategically placed it head office in Lusaka at Millennium village?

    Only time will tell.

  22. 31 Sell Zamtell, you are one of the plunderers.Unmask yourse lf so that we know u.You should first sell your household before you talk of the nation assets.Responsible investers were are u going to find them or do you mean, yourself and your cronnies.Walkup their is money changing hands.Zambia Railways and the mines were privatised and what was the outcome? an eye sore kabwe town and poverty stricken miners

  23. Targets are those chaps who where supporting HH and SATA during the last presidential elections.Power of Ministers pa Zed no consultations you just employ and fire.
Cousin Dora, i just sent my ka paper, i mean ka Cv for the new appointment as you promised me when you visited us in the village na ba tata.I can not wait for the new job Cousin, Well done. Also na ba assistant that one fire him as well…. :d

  24. Now what will happen to the employees of Zamtel? the new management that will come in will be to cut costs…one of them is payroll, next will be to increase subscription on services such as DSL, giber links for corporate world, and for the common man with Cell Z, i wonder if the new regime will want to continue operating a non profitable venture..GLOBAL RECESSION is upon Us!

  25. In other words, The government of the Village people of Zambia (MMD) are incompitent, they can not find the right people to manage Zambian resources (parastatals). This Dora Sily chap went to UNZA and studied Purchasing and Supply, forgive her she does not know Economics!

  26. People understand that the world is undergoing a RECESSION, meaning that things have stoped moving…no money is in motion, In Australia, the govt is thinking of practically giving out hand outs in form of money to encourage people to spend! If you sell Zamtel, who will afford thier services, More jobs will be lost and creating a scenario in the country where people are afraid to spend!

  27. 47. Recession,

the woman is right, if you dont perform ,you are demoted, just like football managers.

These pipo are supossed to improve things, not make them worse.

  28. Number 46, you don`t study Purchasing and Supply at The UNZA. Where did you go to school? Those are course you get at collages. Don`t talk about things you don`t understand. You are jealous becouse you don`t have a degree yourself. Dora studied Mass Com and Developemnt studies. She has a Masters in Developemnt Economics from Oxford University. You what do you have? You don`t even know the you don`t study purchasing at The UNZA. Shame on you. Bt tghe way, I`ll still rig the next elections and RB and Dora will be back.

  29. Zambians say no to privitisation. The mines were sold…and Zedians benefited nothing.I think the ka union leader has been bought…why support such a useless move?
Government should just bail out Zamtel and recruit competent managers to run it not doras bululus…from petauke.

  30. Our govt shoulndt have let Zamtel reach this deadly end but if a company is populated by cadres and relatives,Govt will do anything to please them aat the expnse of profitability and efficiency. Therefore if Zamtel does not have enough funds to jump-start its operations, the way to go is partial privitisation that will invlve both Zedians and Foreigners and ZRA should stop PHD menatlity(Pull Him/Her Down) on fellow Zambians(Kalijo mulekeletu). You scare away zedians with money.

As for Dora,Mwana watch your tongue! Its a boomerang!

  31. Something, anything had to be done. Zamtel has been unable to compete with foreign companies despite owning much of the telecoms infrastructure. The others are making bucks; why cant Zamtel?

  32. Why hire a substandard company from outside Zambia to value the assets of ZAMTEL please 17 year old MMD GRZ? ZAMTEL has National Security in its hands to consider carefully, but let us wait and see what President RB BAnda and Ms Dora Siliya are both upto.

Also, why is President RB Banda reported as going to accompany Malawian President M. Wathalika to a political campaign rally. Are these two planning to combine Zambia and malawi into one nation? Is this move aimed at cheating the Malawians and/or Zambians into voting for these or any of these two Presidents in the next Presidential elections.

  33. After Chishya Folotiya dropped her, she had a fling with ka Richard Kazala, Former Deputy Minister of sports, thats how she entered politics. Now she has no one, venting her misplaced anger at being NyamaSoya’s puppet!!!!!! Dora we are watching You.

  34. Leaders should be critisized for all their f**lish acts period. This is not personal. When you venture into Politics you expect yopur life to be put under scrutiny. In America for being promiscous you can loose a bid to white house or Governor. She used to use tax payers money to fly from Egypt where she was embassy stuff to co habit with married kazala, everyone in Chingola knows it. It’s only pa Zed where even promiscous idith Nawakwi can aspire to be presido & u accept. if I had info on Men Ministers, i will still spill it!!

  35. I do not see any problems in Dora taking such a drastic step if she is qualified enough to know the consequences of such a decision..
ZAMTEL has been in shambles for quite a while now and it seemed nobody cared.

Lets see if the new brooms will sweep clean….. :-?**==

    SMALL WORLD: Ambassador’s daughter
    Mwape is studying biochemistry

    Posted Feb 10, 2009 @ 12:12 AM

PITTSBURG — Chiluchile Mwape is unlike most other international students. When she goes to visit her family, she visits an entirely other country than where she is from. Her father is the Zambian ambassador to China. Do China and Zambia have many political ties?“I didn’t know they did, either until my dad got appointed,” Chiluchile said. “And then when I go to visit them, I go to China now and then I come straight here, which makes me even more homesick.”

  40. There are a lot of misconceptions about Africa that Mwape has had to fight. But one of the biggest problems is that few people have known much about her home country.“Zambia used to be known for copper,” she said. “I don’t know what it is known for now. People have asked me if we have animals all over the place and I say no. You’re not just going to walk outside and find animals running around.”Another problem is that most people don’t know much about African political geography.“Everybody thinks Africa is one big country,” she said. “There are some big differences between Kenya and Zambia. It’s not the same at all.”

  41. Mwape decided to come to PSU for an education experience that she could not get in Zambia.

“I came for the school and education,” Mwape said. “It’s affordable, I think. The first reason you want to come to America is the cool factor. As compared to the schools back home, there are only two universities. There are a lot of places here.”

She attended school at Crowder College in Neosho for a few years before coming to Pittsburg. She is studying biochemistry and plans to attend pharmacy school after she graduates in May.

  42. “I’d love to go back home. I feel they may need more help than here. I’ll be needed back home,” Chiluchile said. “They need doctors and nurses and pharmacists there. The health department is just short of people. The country needs so many people.”

She’s noticed plenty of differences between America and Zambia.

“Zambia is a very small country, ony 11 million,” she said. “So there are not to many places to visit. If you come here, there are so many options. You can go wherever you want to go.”

  43. Her hometown in Zambia is the capital, Lusaka. Pittsburg is a far cry from the capital.

“The fact Pittsburg is kind of a little town is nice, so you mostly deal with students. There are no distractions. It’s a good school. It serves its purpose.”

One of the biggest differences she has noticed is the education styles between the two countries.

“We have very different educational systems. The teachers really help you here,” Mwape said. “Back home, the teachers come out and teach, and you have to do all your work on your own. I’m not complaining. The system back home is harder than here, I think.”

  44. The biggest complaint of international students is about the difference between food from their home country and food in America. Mwape is no exception.

“We eat everything with nshima — a cornmeal of sorts. We eat it with chicken, beef, everything,” Chiluchile said. “There are no hamburgers or anything like that. We have pizza, we just don’t eat it every day.”

Mwape has made a lot of friends here, many through the International Student Association. She said the group has helped her meet people with similar points of view.

“It’s easier to relate to them than American students, because they know this is not home for you,” Chiluchile said. “I think everybody has their own different cul

  45. Chapi stick to Dora and the story not international students. O.K. If all of us were to start writing about our escapeeds outside of Zambia which are far more vast and intresting than what you have written above, will this make sense????? Stick to the issues of MMD ministers scandles who are dissolving boards and their reputation how fit are they to hold office that are sensitive to our security, secrecy and soverig-nity!!!! O.K. what do others say????

  46. @14 “The Mwine” Mwalasa

Cayman islands is an offshore investment haven with no hope you recovering anything that goes there. [-( Anything coming from there is questionable. 😕 Pure 419 chaabe. The $2 million is gone to make someone a DON on some island for sure b-):-c:-w

  47. One would think in this age and time Government officials will be oriented on who to deal with in what matters… Unless……the minister has her fingers stuck in the formation and presentation of this RP.Otherwise why else dissolve the board? They know too much or questioned the intergrity of her company of choice?

Board members not ukupoka akanono..We need you to speak out on this one. Pantu this is too embarassing -twalasebana when the money goes.

To assist those in doubt(former Zamtel board members and other bloggers) seek advice from Barclays Bank security and money laudering unit for info of such laptop companies on offshore islands.

  48. Ubwafya pa ZAMTEL,too much redtapism. Ba shushushu chalo. They work like they are still spying for the allies in WWII, istead of providing services to citizens.

  49. I would be happy to see the selection process of awarding the contract to RP Capital Partners for assset valuation of Zamtel, maybe they were the better of them all. Some people spoke of choosing PWC or Deloitte, not sure if they have the resources to do such locally,I personally “doubt” some of these consultants,if I remember, PWC were the culprits who sent Zambia Airways quickly into liquidation for selfish reasons with Luo and FTJ when they could have advised a plan to help the airline, and am told some flats were sold to PWC employees-unacceptable.Most of the local Partners are full of selfish interests to make quick cash without looking to the future and implications for the country,

  50. 75. Mpangula Mputyu,

Just troll on your garbage in garbage out. What have you achievedd or impacted for the 2 years you have been blogging your garbage here? Who are your rhetoric directed to and how do you measure your wasted time. There are ways of impacting public office other than these childish and visionless barkings you want me to join you in.No sir a value my time.I would rather waste it rebuking you instead because you are unproductively sleeping hear and you can see them 24/7.Ministers, policy advisors and control offers don’t blog.So how do you impact or influence their decision making other than sustaining your futureless fantasy here?

  51. Most boards in Zambia are run by party cadres who cannot perform. This is how they are employed: eg a minister of health tells his counterpart in defence to employ the relatives of the minister of health. In fact all the board members in Zambia have connections. Investigate and publish names of all the members, people can easily link them to a certain minister. Dora wants to appoint new cadres.

  52. Looking at most of the comments on this thread,i feel so sad & sorry for our nation that so many people fail to even comprehend little things & resort to insults instead of giving solutions.ZAMTEL & National Railways have been struggling for years now,it’s high time a permanent solution was found & am glad Silya has finally decided to find that solution so instead of talking rubbish, people must wait to see what happens.Times are gone when governments should be running certain aspects of the economy, the private sector should be in the forefront, too much dependency on the govt is what has caused Zambia to be so behind in development as there’s just too much mismanagement in parastatals.

  53. 86. UK and America a bailing out the so called private sector, what are talking about.Stop the ostrich mentality, Burrying your head won’t help.

  54. YEAH #86 WHY TELL US TO WAIT UNTIL FOR DORA FINISHES FOR US TO SEE.THE PATH DORA & NYAMASOYA HAVE TAKEN WILL MESS US UP, BEST TIME TO STOP THEM IS NOW. REMEMBER WEC LET CHILUBA DURING HIS LAST TERM TO DO ALL THE WRONG THINGS NOW WE ARE REGRETING LATER. NO WAYS YOUR ADVICE NOT WELCOME. I SUPPORT # 87 PERIOD.

  55. Chi Chapi #79 U disturbed us and now you what to attack someone who was reminding you to stick to the topic #75. This is not fair. If ministers dont blog is that your problem or is this blogging meant for ministers? Who were you writing those long meaningless mails you have posted 69 – 74. Bloggers let us stop people abusing this, there are so many nice and worthy comments i.e from Mr. Solution #78 etc. I’m forming an anti Chapi movement. To get your senseless comments off the site.

  56. 69,70,71,72,73,74 and 79 Chapi. What a muddle are you out of your mind? Tell that mwape to go and get a zambian degrees form Unza than a wikipedia degree from America.

  57. Why privatize Zamtel? I would be for the idea for the
govt to help improve it’s operation, thus prevent the exploitation of the poor workers who always lose their jobs.
Also encourage private firms or investors to start their own
companies, hence building new infrastructure coming to use or just
improve the already existing ones. The network is so bad, eish, nowadays, you need hours and hours before getting thru, monga ni ku
    Ethiopia manje!!!!!!!!!!!!

  58. History will judge the minister. We need performing personnel to run the Zambian Govt. There is a difference between education and competency which has a proven track record. Get me right i believe in education but i also believe in competency. There are some uneducated people who have a track record of performance and i am sure would do more wonders if they coupled it with education, there are also educated people who are competent and have a proven track record , there are also educated people who are not competent and have no proven track record and lastly there are uneducated people who are not competent and have no proven track record. God bless zambia.

  59. And so the conspiracy is complete. Now the selling off of Zamtel can proceed unhindered by such obstacles as “Boards”. How utterly convenient!! Somebody will have to answer for this rot one day.

  60. I am terribly disappointed in the manner the current government is handling these highly sensitive national matters particularly communication.Dissolving the board may in a way help bring sanity and efficiency in parastatals. However, Zamtel is at the verge of collapsing due to non payment of bills by Government officials and other administrative and technical problems which have riddled the company for sometime now. So people, we know who the culprits are. Do you expect such a company to perform to required standards when the money its owed outweighs its projected profits per year?? AND WHY ENGAGING AN OUTSIDER TO AUDIT ZAMTEL?

  61. My God: I wonder as to why some decisions get to happen this way.Deep down my heart i do feel Zamtel is too sensitive a company in a far as national security is concerned. As a result ,no one especially among our leadership should have thought of privatizing any part/section of it at all. It’s not my field of study but i wonder whether any one with an IT knowhow was ever consulted. How about our professors:Are they well utilized in decision making of any kind?I just feel as sad as i did when F.T.J exposed the state house in a view to tarnish the name of K.K.We are not learning anything from our history. In such conditions i think we just need local capable hands and gov full support.

  62. There are some companies which need privatization and some, one should not even think of it in any way.I have never heard of any developed/fast developing country make such actions.Zambia is rich.We just need to come together as one.ONE ZAMBIA,ONE NATION.Nobody ever mentions this cause maybe they relate it to K.K.Is’s the motto that has brought unity for mother Zambezi-land

  63. I hope after 2011 RB’s people will ahve peace.I think relatives and friends will be appointed.Who cares? It started with LPM.What can I say:every dog has its day!Your days are numberd mayo:I hope your are not blinded like Chiluba’s ministers

  64. Kaonga was bought, he is currently got a loan overdraft of 12.3 million pa Stanchart so ali muchiibe. Someone dropped off an envelope at his plot on Saturday night. Ba Kaonga, we saw that Blue Hardbody which is normally found in Bauleni and parks pa State Lodge. The truth shall set you free. Just declare the money. WE shall lay in wait for you pa Nakonde after you clear that Pajero !! nikwaatu Kudja ka. We know !!

  65. You know what u guys, i didn’t leave this government to be run as if mulebuta. RB you promised pipo that you’ll embrace the legacy that i left. My advice to you my dear Dora Siliya is vuka mutu before these things turn sour. RB be careful with Tetamashimba, when i was alive he pretended as if he was a good man yet he is a puppet and he just wants to keep his job. R.B do you really really remember the day we sat together in Europe? If the answer is yes, why are you not implementing what we discussed? I’ve been watching you through out. Good bye

  66. Dora. Other ways exist for improving the operational efficiency of Zamtel.

    1. appoint a competent board. At zamtel all previous boards under MMD have been useless cadres.
    2. Under MMD zamtel has been forced to acquire loans to purchase useless chinese technologies( example CELL Z Equipment).Govt should do the correct thing by taking over these non performing loans like all responsible Govts are doing allover the word
    3. downsize staff. It is an open secret that at Zamtel, though staff do not get extravagant salaries, the numbers are too many.Effect volunatry redundace. If this fails outsource non essential services like the security guards and cleaners. there truth has been told

  67. RB, Did you know that all your personal calls including that of the Government pass through(sift/filtered) ZAMNET???

  68. Mr. Kaonga is not following the argument for reasons best known to him. No body is against the partial privatisation of Zamtel. Problem is channels are not being followed. Things like these are resurrected when the governmentis out of power and people involved will say we are being persecuted forgetting that advice was given which they ignored. Look at Richard Sakala; had he followed the law in giving contracts he would have firm ground for defence, but alas at the time he felt very immortal and very invicible. When things go sour for Dora am sure Mr Kaonga will be the first to say “these people ignored legal advice bra brar…”

  69. Women, why dont we support each others. anyway, we women are divided in the middle that is why even during the 2008 erections, men were always on top of us.

  70. RB LEARN FROM OBAMA.JUST RECAPITALISE ZAMTEL AND LET IT OPERATE PROFFESSIONALLY ,REDUSE POLITICAL INTERFERANCE IN RUNING THESE PARASTATALS.STIMULATE WEALTH INSTEAD OF DWIDLING IT,MIND MINES ARE CLOSED DONT RISK YOUR PRESIDENT ENJOY IT

  71. #62 Cutey. You disappoint me. There are not supposed to be short cuts in legal matters. That is tantamount to promoting lawlessness. The same diputs chaps will not rush to up grade our UTH but when it comes where there a “cut for me.” It becomes neccessary to expidite matters.

  72. In the first place why sale Zamtel, when it can do better without the interference from government or politicians. let the government just recapitalise Zamtel. it has been long since Zamtel was given money like other parasitatal companies to stand on there on. ever since chilubas regime when Zamtel when supposed to be on the ZPA listing. goverment stopped pumping money and started chewing from the company.

  73. BA SILIYA BE CAREFUL WHY DID MWANAWASA NOT PRIVATISE ZAMTEL OR ZESCO BE CAREFUL MY DEAR YOU WILL END UP IN COURT OVER THE SAME. ARE YOU GOING TO LOOK AFTER THE FAMILIES OF ZAMTEL EMPLOYEES .
THINK BEFORE ACTING, YOU WERE JUST A SUFFERER AT ZNBC DON’T THINK YOU HAVE MADE IT NOW, MAY GOD JUDGE YOU ACCORDINGLY.

  74. zamtel is not as bad as its being potraid k6oobn is meant to mislead zambians. In 2005 it was in a similar situation due to gross mismanagement by mutesha and when he was fired and replaced Woods Simbeye within three months the company was back on track and cleared all its debtors.the man is willing to day to come and save the coompany without political infuluence the current md who is siliyas boyfreind should come out in the open and tell zambians if management cannot save and then they should all resign. The chinese have been imposing shoddy equipment-projects using their political infuluence and zamtel has no say.pliz bring WOODS AND DR CHABWERA and prove me wrong these are tested.

  75. please lets be fair and mature in our comments so as to buil zambia otherwisew even some of your good commenys and advise will not be appreciated by those making the mistakes

  76. May all leaders remember that Zamtel is for the all nation just like the flag. May those who are not qualified or those who don’t perform stop working and give chances to those who are willing to do work and enjoy it. Let us not frastrate even those who are willing to work. May God allow us read Exd 14:14, Prov 8:32-36, Haggai 1:5-9, Prov 6:32, Habakuk 2:2-3 and Jer 29:11-14. May all Zambians come together and be faithful unto God or else we are all going to reap what we sow.
